Days Inn Greenfield

We booked the room after reading some of the reviews and most times we get lucky and have really good experiences at places with not so great reviews.. This place was the exception. We stayed here for a few hours to sleep on our way to Vermont. We requested non smoking and our room smelled so bad like cigarettes we immediately had to open the window. The comforter had clumps of human hair stuck to it, I immediately took it off the bed and put it in the dirty tub where i knew I wouldn't be showering anyway. The tv channels didn't come in clear and our room was very loud. I wouldn't stay here again and will be more weary of bad reviews.

The hotel is in a very convenient location in Greenfield, MA. The room is generally clean, but with smell of smokes, which maybe because of the welfare people who live inside and cooking inside (I guess). The welfare people's behaviors are not bad, they are quite polite but they creates some annoying problems. Anyway, it is not bad for the money and the people there are quite nice except some smoking near and the hotel smells, but it is Days Inn, an inexpensive one.

The room was adequate and staff pleasant, however the family in the next room was loud and as a 70 year old woman traveling alone, I found the boisterous coffee room uncomfortable as I was the only English speaking guest -- I was blocked in the parking lot by two families moving belongings between cars and again had the language barrier. Found out when I told my story at Thanksgiving dinner that I had spent over $90.00 for a night at the homeless shelter. I expected an inflated holiday rate, and there are not a lot of places in rural W. Ma., The room met my needs but the environment was completely unacceptable.

The Days Inn was just what we were looking for. Great price, room was clean and quiet. We arrived Friday around dinner time, checked in, then headed in to Greenfield for dinner. We got back, prepped for our ride (the FANTASTIC D2R2), and got some sleep. Up early and out Saturday morning.. The only thing that would have been better was a 5:30a breakfast instead of 6:00a.

A low end motel apparently housing local indigents. Poor lighting. Sliver of soap. Front desk not staffed. Poor security. Too bad because the location is great for travelers to western Mass or VT/NH.

A lot of reviews of this please say that it is one of the most disgusting hotels in suburban. That's not quite true. While it certainly not gorgeous hotel or the cleanest hotel or the nicest hotel, it's totally fine for the reasonably cheap place to stay. I wouldn't go gratification, but for making a place to crash on the road it was perfectly fine.

1. Noisy until late in the evening 2. There appears to be six, or more families staying at this hotel that I believe are welfare recipients. When we drove into the the parking lot several adults were sitting on lawn chairs smoking. Their children were playing with assorted toys, riding tricycles and bicycles. We had to ask the parents to watch their children each time we entered or exited the parking lot. 3. We were unable to particpate in the continental breakfast offered because the families filled the small eating area. We ate at Friendlys restaurant both mornings we were there.

Great value hotel. Rooms recently done over. Very clean. Helpful staff. Recliner in room a nice touch. Everything you could want including microwave and fridge. The 99 next door was perfect for a meal. Highly recommend

Staff was great, room was what you pay for. Hall rugs dirty and old. Looked like people lived there as well.

so bad we could not use the room. it smelled like cigars and my husband did too for a day after spending an hour waiting for me to return when i found another hotel. we would have preferred to sleep in our car. it was filthy and disgusting and the staff was rude and unhelpful you should be more careful about establishments it recommends/sells

damaged doors, outside activities I left and went to a different motel...would not stay one night This is not a Days Inn standard I have ever seen.

This hotel is now being compared to it's neighbor; a new Hampton Inn. This hotel is in need of major upgrade to its interior or its ability to continue to draw customers will be in question. Good location for Greenfield MA.

When we arrived at the hotel, we weren't sure of where the front door was due to the fact that there was 4 individuals lounging with drinks near the entry way. We circled the place twice and surmised that it indeed was the front entry. We walked in and we're checked in. We went to our room on the first floor and dropped our bags and open the curtains. To our delight we were surprised with a lovely view of the front entry and the lounging individuals with the cocktails in hand. We immediately asked if there was another room to change to, but were denied due to the we had "booked the rooms online". After further inspection, the toilet was mildewed, the bed had a huge black hair on it as did the sink, and bathroom floor and bath tub wall. As I lugged additional luggage in I noticed a rather high number of young mothers with multiple children appeared to be staying here as well. At the continental breakfast the next day, it was divulged to me that they (the young mothers and children) lived there mostly on the second floor and the individuals I met on arrival were there boyfriends. I Even witnessed on nice fellow walking his pitbull that was living with him. Breakfast was a choice of 4 types of sweetened cereal, bagel, or waffle. I would not recommend this place unless it is of last resort. If I hadn't had my 4 year old daughter I would have preferred to sleep in my vehicle..or dumpster. I should hope DAYS INN would declare if the were operating a boarding home/Inn before I payed for room I will be contacting them directly

This is a boarding/ halfway house posing as a hotel. There are residents hanging around smoking and drinking in front of the main entrance. The rooms are filthy with hair everywhere. We booked 2 rooms 1 for us and one for a smoking family member. When I went to visit the other room I was appalled at the condition. The reclining chairs's seat was broken and stained, the TV was huge and very old and there was a tremendous amount of noise. Having breakfast at the continental breakfast bar is very uncomfortable because everyone is getting ready for school and trying to catch the bus on time. This was an overall bad and bizarre experience. I have stayed in rooms for $35 a night that far exceeded the quality of this room.

I stayed two times in this hotel. Both time i found hotel room were not clean. Not worth the money!

Hey, we just needed a clean room nearby Turner's Falls so I could go to an interview. Place a little dated, but so what. Shower head had to be held since the slider was broken. Remote control quirky. Folger's coffee. Cereal and banana for breakfast with USA today. Under $100. Not bad. Its a Day's Inn for God's sake.

My girlfriend and I booked the room in Greenfield, looking forward to staying from 4/29-5/1, however, we ended up checking out on the 30th and checking into the Hampton Inn for the night. Our early departure from the Days Inn was due to the fact that the service at the front desk was unavailable due to their frequent smoke breaks and when they were available their attitude was not too pleasant. Another reason for our early checkout was the unclean room that had plenty of candy wrappers and ear rings lying around as well as cigarette ashes in the shower and the smoke smell, which is completely unfortunate since we specifically asked for a non-smoking room because my girlfriend and I are extremely allergic to cigarette smoke. Also, after enjoying our dinner Friday night, we returned to the hallway which was cloudy and had a strong odor of weed. I, and my girlfriend, felt totally unsafe the entire visit since shady characters were welcomed to hang out in the hotel by the rude workers on duty. I will, therefore, never return to this hotel as well as not recommend any family to stay while visiting the area. I just regret not checking into the Hampton Inn the evening of the 29th.

I was here on business. The hotel is was very central to where I needed to be. It was close to my place of work, and there is a grocery store right across the street.[...]
