At first glance this hotel promised to be great. And honestly, writing down this review feels a bit uncomfortable. Why ? Well, this hotel has outdated rooms, especially the bathroom. The bed was ok but the drapes didn’t block the morning sunlight all too well. The staff, and especially the South-African bartender made our stay more pleasant. So, management, please pass this to your team members and work on the issues mentioned before ! I will be back.
I visited Crowne Plaza 2 years ago back when it was still Sheraton - and just like then, I also left with a similar illness. Some things were changed, following the rebranding for the better, however I am concerned, that there was no cleaning of the air conditioning systems. I have a strong suspicion this led to leaving with another respiratory illness after spending one night here. Large tourist groups frequently visit the hotel and this may be a good reason for regular maintenance and cleaning of the ventilation systems. Of course I cannot be sure this was the reason but 2 out of 2 occasions make me concerned and a good reason not to return.
Not very impressed with this hotel especially after staying at the Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport which is much superior Rooms were acceptable but let down by the main restaurant not being open. We had to dine at their restaurant / Bar Selected their cheese burger / Fries / coldslaw Was surprised with the size of their burger and chips the coldslaw was really tasty struggled to eat it all but almost made it. Not sure about the price at Euro's 16.00
From 27.01 till 10.02 I had the misfortune to stay in Frankfurt Crown Plaza Hotel. This 4star hotel was booked by my company. During check in I was asked to show my credit card just in case if I want to order something. I also showed my Voucher that reservation was already paid, however they didn’t take it from me, because it wasn’t necessary. I didn’t recognize this as suspicious action, so I gave them my credit card. During this two weeks, I had many horrible experiences. It started with my private cutlery. Room service was taking my private cutlery all the time. After the first accident I even left a note, that it’s my private one, however it didn’t help at all - they even take this note. I lost my private cutlery during this stay, because they couldn’t find it. They also took my private cup (it was totally different then the hotel one). Luckily, they gave it me back. Unfortunately, that’s not all! Once after cleaning they left my door open!! I was so nervous that, because I thought that I lost my stuff! Luckily nothing disappeared. Two times after cleaning my stuff were moved and hidden on shelves!! I couldn’t find my stuff! They even moved my suitcase! I left it open and when I came it was closed and I had such big mess! This happened two times!! They even destroyed my toothbrush! After cleaning it was under my other stuff!!! I couldn’t use it anymore! I was so tired with all this complaints, but everything was still ahead on me! When I was leaving the hotel, receptionist told me, that they accidentally charged my card, but they will return all money. I was upset, but I didn’t want to fight and just leave this hotel as soon as possible. When 2 days later I still didn’t have this money, I went to this hotel to ask why it takes so long! They charged me 2000€! So it’s not a small amount. Well, what was the hotel answer? Sorry, we have a comment that you pay for the hotel. Seriously? I was giving the voucher and they said they don’t need it and no one paid attention that if the company was booking this hotel for me, then I won’t pay for that? And no one informed me properly that I was charged! No one told me that this card will be used to pay for the hotel!! This was only for meals just in case if I want to order something! Ok, they told me that in next 2-3 days my money will be returned and someone will contact me! I WAS WAITING THE WHOLE WEEK FOR THE ANSWER AND NO ONE CONTACTED ME! I had to sacrifice my time to go there again and ask how long I have to wait for my money! I talked with the guy from reception who told me that they’re still waiting for the answer and I should get my money back in 2-3 weeks. He also called manager. She told me that she didn’t even know about my problems (how could I expect that) and they will return my money this evening. She also said that she is so so so so sorry. Well, so I was one week without 2000€, no one told me that I was charged, I had to sacrifice my time two times to go there and argue with the reception, I complaint many times to reception about room service and I got only sorry from manager!! 😂😂😂 This is such a bad PR for you and I won’t leave this situation like this!! I was so nervous and I didn’t have money for one week and you are only sorry... so bad Crown Plaza.
The hotel is pretty close to the airport and if the weather is good commute using the S train is great. The hotel is being upgraded, I was on the 12th floor which had undergone renovation, it was nice and comfy and offered a great view of the countryside. The hotel offered complimentary spa and sauna which I could not make use of due to my time constraints. The staff was friendly at the reception as well as the bar, they had some good vegetarian options. My stay nearly ended in a disaster, there was a note stuck on the bathroom mirror that indicated the tub was slippery and there as an anti skid mat placed in the bedroom closet... My laziness nearly costed me huge, the tub indeed became very slippery and I realised as I reached out for the towel and ended up having a fall which luckily I could somewhat control, many bruises but no broken bones. I have suggested to the management to put the mat in the bathroom itself and not in the bedroom. Frankly this is the first hotel where I have seen such a notice... Fall not withstanding a great place to stay.
This hotel was a Sheraton (2 years aho),. It has moved to Crowne. The Service has dropped significantly. Rooms are clea, but since the 2nd night, they do the mínimum cleaning. Breakfast is average. If something is finish, not refilled. Plenty of tables are free but not cleaned. There a restaurant indicating opening hours but never opens. In the past there were several International newspapers, now only "China Today" Fitness center is fine with swimming pool and sauna but sauna was cool. Entrance main door didn't work.
Stayed here for a business trip for more than a week. The hotel is good if you are on a short trip. I had mixed observations during my stay. Positives: 1. The location. Very near to the tram and walkable from Niederrad station. 2. Good breakfast spread. 3. Pleasant lobby. 4. Helpful staff. Negatives: 1. Construction work on going besides, can cause disturbance. One of my colleagues had to change room due to noise. 2. Relatively small rooms. 3. Not sure what's with 2 single beds instead of 1 queen/king size bed. Fed up of this split with all these chains. 4. Old and needs renovation in rooms. 5. Felt, it was not a value proposition. 6. Away from Frankfurt main area. Overall, can be considered if your work is in the area. Not for family outing.
We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel in Frankfurt after experiencing flight delays. Very nicely situated and a pleasure to stay in. Nothing spectacular but functional. Clean, friendly staff that left us alone after helping us. Can recommend it.
The hotel is rebranding and has work going on. AVOID. Drilling all day long. An irritating siren sounding off every few moments. The Duty Manager has no idea what she is doing including saying she didn't even know the noise would be happening today until it started. This even tho' people have been reporting such noise here for a month based on other reviews I have just read. This is just appalling management. If a hotel has work being done of this nature it MUST notify its guests at the time of booking and checking in. I need to know if I'm expected to stay at a construction site and pay for the privilege.
My daughter and I are currently staying here for only one more night, thankfully. This hotel is changing ownership, has no visible signage so is a bit hard to find. Once we found it the lobby had construction noise making it very hard to even check in, ladders and drilling. We were awakened before 6 a.m. this morning to more construction noise. After a day of touring Frankfurt, this afternoon we decided to come back to the hotel to rest up for the evening only to find that ladders were in our hallway on the 4th floor and now there is loud drilling accompanied by sirens blasting. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE CLOSED UNTIL THEY GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER. On a positive note, the server / bartender at the lobby bar could not be any nicer or more personable.
