Maritim Hotel Nürnberg4.0 out of 5.0

We spent two nights here on business. Room wise,it was very late 80's decor. Paint chipped around door frames, a toilet that came from the wall and creeked everytime one sat on it. The shower head gave had a very sharp and prickly feel to the skin and the bathroom was clearly in need of an upgrade alongside the bedroom decor. The hotel itself is clean, staff are attentive and Tony the bartender brightened up day with his extensive knowledge of cocktail making. Breakfast was average, hence I made it continental.
Stayed at the Maritim for three nights as part of a tour of Germany. Ideally situated for the old town and close to the station. Large room which was clean and tidy, free safe, the only downside was the pillows but it would appear that Germany don't do pillows very well . The food was very good with plenty of choice. There is a swimming pool in the basement and I wished that I had my trunks with me. The hotel is full of old world charm and the dining room is amazing. I would be very happy to stay here again.
This hotel is a bit dated, but it is very close t the train station & old town. Small gym & pool. Average food, with good choice for breakfast. Room a bit on the small size, but OK for 1 night. No tea/coffee making facilities
This hotel has a very good location to the centre of the city and not too far away from the central station. The service personal was polite and nice. Regarding the the furnishings it's a kind of time travel back to the 80's. My room was on the 4th floor and kind of loud due to a fan from the recirculation air, it's not an air conditioning.
Hotel is ordinary place to stay, location is well to get walking, reception understanding a little bit lower than expected. Hotel need to have refurbishment. It's restaurant "Nurnberger Stuben" unfortunately can not be suggested to have dinner. Service is not acceptable when you are foreigner. But breakfast variety is ok. Price is not comparable with total expectations
I stayed at the hotel for two nights while attending a conference. It is certainly convenient for the city and very easy to get to from the railway station. It was also comparatively quiet from both the noise of the street and other guests. It was quite a hot spell when I was there, but the room itself stayed quite cool, so no complaints on that store. There were a couple of issues. The first is that on the second night of my stay the hotel lost internet. That might not be a problem for many, but was a huge problem for me as I had work to do. It seemed that it was out in the whole hotel (having asked at reception), and the free internet did not come back before I left, although I could eventually get paid for wifi the next morning. I don't know if it is really fair to blame the hotel for the loss of wifi or not. The other issue is that the breakfast room seems too small for the amount of guests the hotel has, and on both mornings it was difficult to find seats. As others have pointed out, the hotel can do with upgrading, and I read that it is happening. And despite my frustrations, my colleague thought it was an excellent hotel, so I appreciate that my own concerns may paint a slightly unfair opinion.
13-Jul-2017 to 18-Jul-2017 Return visit to Nuremberg and the Maritim Hotel. Located centrally at the 'gates' to the old town center and a block from the train station. Underground parking is available and accessible from the hotel. As always, I appreciate the friendliness and professionalism of the staff at the Maritim. Definitely, a reason for keeping the hotel on my 'preferred' list when travelling on business to office in Nuremberg. Restaurant staff / servers are 'awesome'! Sandy was kind enough to welcome me back when I sat down for dinner on Saturday Evening ( she remembered me from earlier visit ). Little things count for a lot!! Chef / sous-chefs / kitchen staff should be commended for not only having standard / typical items on menu but showing creativity / innovation in some of the items on the menu. Infrastructure could use a 'refresh'; especially the air conditioning ( cooling ). Having stayed on a number of different floors, I would say that the 1st and 3rd are passable but are showing their age. Also, I found the Wi-Fi service ( paid for upgrade ) a little slow. Surprising, I was unable to connect remotely to my office ... In past, it was not an problem but this time it was a little frustrating and necessitated me going into office on Sunday.
Except for the lack of parking, this is a rather good hotel inside. The beds were soft but unfortunately it is time the hotel put in better pillows. Although our room faced the road, there was hardly any road noise once the windows were closed. Good food in the buffet. What I personally like the butter dispensing machine! Go for it.
Stayed here as a group traveller on tour. The hotel is well located within an easy walk into the old town if you are feeling inclined. Some nice restaurants are nearby. The bar also offers a very good bar menu for lighter meals if you don't want to go to the restaurant. The rooms are a decent size and the bathroom was also good with a decent shower. One thing we did like was that there was a night light in the bathroom - it didn't intrude on sleeping but was excellent for waking in a strange room in the dark and finding your way to the bathroom. Buffet breakfast had a good selection.
Very good business hotel near the main subway station. Wort noting is that breakfast is not included in room price and it was relatively expensive 22€. Room was quiet on 4th floor. Some thicker pillows could had been available.
