Hotel Agneshof Nürnberg3.0 out of 5.0

The Hotel Agneshof is on a quiet street right in the heart of the old town, so perfectly placed for exploring Nuremburg. My room was reasonably sized and very comfortable, although as the hotel is surrounded by other buildings, the view was nothing special. Of particular note, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the buffet breakfast was amazingly good. Secure parking, at an additional cost, is available for guests just around the corner. All in all, I would highlyl recommend this hotel, and it is also very good value for money.
The location for this hotel is very good on a quiet street not far from the Nuremberg Castle. About 10-15 minutes walk to Nuremberg Central Station and probably about 5-10 minutes to Lorenzkirche underground station. The room was not very big but clean. WiFi was included but was quite poor.
I picked this hotel based on the location and it did not disappoint. As a solo traveller felt safe at night and easy to get out and visit all the attractions. Good places to eat nearby and very easy to get from the airport using public transport. I found the beds to be very comfy, slept so well...wish I had realised sooner that you could request a fan as the room got very hot. Keeping the curtains closed in the day helped and the window opened wide at night. Bathrooms small but perfectly adequate. One bottle of water was given on arrival would have been nice to have this replaced daily. However the supermarket in the market square sells 6 for €1 so top up there. Would stay again and would recommend.
We're an American Family living in Germany. We reserved accommodations at Hotel Agneshof on 2 different occasions for our twin boys soccer game. Both times the hotel was clean and comfortable The family room that we reserve is large and has a great view of the castle. The most recent stay, one of our boys injured himself in the game, the night clerk Patrick asked if he could help and prepared an ice bag for the swelling; he then called a local pizzeria for our dinner as we had arrived late in the evening. The middle of the night clerk (an older gentleman) is quite grumpy but the day and evening staff is wonderful, speak perfect English and are all very helpful. Excellent location, easy walk to everything. We will definitely be back.
If location in the Altstadt is important, this is the place to stay. The rooms and common areas are up to date and very clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Buffet breakfast is as good as at any other hotel at which I've stayed in Germany, and about half the price of many. The bed is reasonable and comparable to other beds at hotels in Germany in this price range, but not overly comfortable. My room came equipped with 2 wooden desk chairs (albeit with seat cushions), but 1 lounge chair would have been an improvement. Be aware that the hotel does not have A/C, and the room can get hot during the warmer times of the year. Overall I was quite happy with my stay.
My husband and I spent two nights at the Hotel Agneshof. We could not have been more pleased with its location, friendliness, food and staff. Our room was on the 3rd floor towards the rear and we actually could see part of the caste from our room. An updated and clean bathroom was appreciated as well as plenty of room to move around in. The breakfast was reasonable, 7 Euro, with plenty of hot food and many choices. Because it was in the old town near the castle, we were able to enjoy walking to most all of the sights while visiting Nuremberg. Price could not be beat for the type of service we experienced. Would definately return and can highly recommend this hotel.
The location was excellent for sightseeing, the hotel staff were very professional and polite. Breakfast buffet was very, very good and the breakfast waitresses were extremely cheerful and helpful. Our room was on the third floor, easily accessible from the lift, and we had a lovely view overlooking the garden with the castle in the background. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Also there were plenty of coathangers in the wardrobes, which is not always the case in all hotels. A minor thing perhaps, but an example of thinking what your guests may need, I was impressed. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been useful. We are very likely to visit the area again as we have friends who live nearby and will certainly stay at this hotel again.
The first room we got was definitely smoked in but once we got situated in another non smoking room it was good. Very friendly staff that were accommodating for early check in and kept our luggage safe for the day when we checked out as well. The location is great and the rooms were decent. They were clean and comfortable. I wish I would've checked out the downstairs sauna and hot tub (didn't realize it was there until too late).
Nice and cosy hotel located in the old town very good location .Our room was small but comfortable . Breakfast was great - rich , tasty , very good . Staff is friendly , keep smiling . Place worth to take for a overnigt stay in Nurnberg
We enjoyed Nuremberg so much last year we decided to go back and see different things. The hotel is ideally located in the old town. Peter checked us in and was very friendly and helpful. Another member of staff helped us (sorry, I didn't catch her name) she was great too. Clean, comfortable and warm rooms.
