The staff is very friendly and helpful. We needed to cool the water for our dog for a trip and the staff in the restaurant made us a sealed bag with ice cubes. We also got our little bowl full with ice for our dog. Front desk staff helped us in any way we needed it. The hotel i located next to a park where you can let your dog run free.
The arrival started good with a gentle feeling and welcome by the staff working the reception. We then arrived to the bar, not at all the same feeling. The guy working behind the bar was rude and short by notice. I then took the opportunity of ordering some food from the resturang to bring up to my family. A pasta with pesto and meat. The food was cold and not at all good. It smelt bitter and I got the feeling of uncleaned vegetables. (Sand in my mouth). I then went back to the resturang to complain but meet total misunderstanding. - It should be like this. This is how Pesto tastes. He talked to me very rude and then just left.
We had a privilege room at this hotel, which is very big. The location is in a quiet area and a park, which we have used to relax in the evenings and in the early morning. The parking offered is either free or 6 euro to be just very near the hotel entrance. The hotel staff were very helpful and nice to us. Our room had two double beds as we are a family of three. We have used without problems free wifi and premium wifi which was included in our room rate. The room had a table at which you can sit, which seems to be unusual these days. In the afternoons the hotel provides free cold water at the reception, a nice touch. The reception provided us on request with day passes for public transportation so we could travel and visit the city centre.
The room is the size of a shoebox, and so is the bathroom. Parking is an extra 6 € a night if you want it in a gated area. This is a bit strange as the hotel is situated far from the city centre. Breakfast is good, staff is overall friendly if not exactly heartfelt welcoming.
I am a expert user of booking.coma and tried to book this hotel via bookings.com however for some unforeseen reasons I was not able to get confirmation of the booking. This is the fist time this has happened to me after 4 years. As soon as I found out about the double booking (5days prior to my check I date) I contacted booking.com to cancel my booking they told me to contact Congress Hotel Mercure Nürnberg so I contacted the hotel they told me to contact booking.com. The hotel manager Monika [--] at the Congress Hotel Mercure Nürnberg was very ungrateful just shrugged off and charged me 90% of the total value of the booking. Bitterly dissatisfied and disappointed customer.
very well situated for visitting the exhibtion grounds of nuernberg. very friendly staff, specially at reception and I the restaurant. clean but simple rooms wit adequate space. very nice brakefast buffet. small dinner menu, not exactly "gourmet" but good enough for a meal after a long day at the exhibition. (however only german wines available...)
No problems, but breakfast is 18 euro per person and that is a lot as most hotels include breakfast. Good location for conference center, it very close to the Messe, which is the conference center. Parking is not included even though it is not in the city, behind a gas station. 9 euros. A lot of extras.
The hotel is well located on the edge of a bit park. It advertises itself for its connection with the "Messe". But it's not any old park, but where Hitler held his Nuremberg Rallies. As you progress into the park itself, and read the explanatory signs for the various features historical bells begin to ring. That said, I found the hotel itself to be efficiently run, fair value, quiet and with air conditioning and free parking. Well up to the Mercure four star standard. Offers bonus Accor points for not having your room cleaned.
I stayed for one night on a business trip and found this hotel very convenient, very quiet in a green park area. At least my room was huge with all amenities you need. Cool lounge bar, food in the restaurant was very good served by a friendly waiter. Perfect for a short business trips, for tourists it might be a bit too fat from downtown Nuremberg
The hotel is located in a large park. The closest metro (U-Bahn) station (Bauernfeindstraße on lines U1 and U11) and the convention center (Messe) are both several hundred meters away, but if the weather is good, the walk through the park is pleasant. With U-Bahn there is a fairly good connection from/to the airport, with one transfer at the central station. Although there is a busy street nearby and a gas station in front of the hotel, traffic noise did not penetrate disturbingly into the streetside ground-level room that I had. The room and the bathroom were sufficiently large, in good condition and well-equipped. There was no minibar in the room, but there was a water kettle with tea/coffee supplies and a complimentary bottle of sparkling water. The hotel has a restaurant, in which the breakfast is served (apparently not part of all room rates, but I had booked a business package that included breakfast and free Wi-Fi) and that serves fine-dining à la carte in the evenings, closing at 10 p.m. I ended dining there every night during my three-night stay. There is also a lounge bar. I would certainly consider the hotel if coming again to Nuremberg, especially to visit the convention center.
