My first time here, friendly Staff , nice, quiet , easy check in , check out , good breakfast , walking distance to restaurants , convenience stores , nice beach, close to Both Military Bases , Asian Buffet restaurant across the street , simply a convenient location , definitely coming back next visit
This place look ok on the pictures so I took a leap and tried it out. Well first we walk in and the front desk area nice and clean. So thought I was on good start. We get our room key walk down hall it was dirty but no big deal it happens. Go to room it was not cleaned yet even though front desk said computer said yea. Give me another room near back first glance ok nice we go run all day come back and I found a bug on my bed. So I tear everything off bed flip it up and Went to front desk told them about it they gave us another room this time I'm just ready to leave but it was late and I didn't want sleep in car with kids. Go search room tear everything off bed to make sure and it was fine. So my thing is when go in your room just double check under sheets and pillow case i feel they just need some more help to clean rooms cause lay out is nice
First off let me say that this use to be a Qualty Inn. They closed up shop on 2014 and removed carpet and other items "I" believe to get rid of bed bugs!!!! We Arrived Oct. 6, 2017. Room 140 facing bay. Lobby appeared nice. Room was bright and appeared nice. Bathroom was just OK but I travel with disinfectant! TV never worked and front desk did not know why. Walls are paper thin!!! Heard loud music and TV all night room next door. Got up to phone front desk and noticed a bug on the sheet. First thought it might be a roach or something we brought in from the beach. Pulled beds away from the wall and OMG!!!! Some were dead. Some barely alive. Some running around. We were grossed out!!! IMMEDIATELY called front desk. They offered another room and I said surely NOT. My husband put a number of bugs in tissue and we took them to the front desk. No fuss from front desk. Refunded our entire $500 and we left that place as fast as we could to try to find a decent hotel with laundry service to launder all our clothes. We threw away a lot of items just because we were so creeped out. We will NEVR stay here again NOR will we EVER believe its possible to find a motel on the bay for this price. We should have known it was too good to be true. Reviews don't lie. Please please please be careful. Some hotels are aware that they have bugs but they won't tell you. always store your luggage high up.
This place is beyond filthy. It was the first place we could find after a long search for a hotel to get away from Irma`s path. After 24 hours on the road we walked into a filthy room with dirty stained sheets, hairs all over the bathroom floor and who knows what else. We were given a different room on the second floor which wasn't much better but at least the sheets seemed decent so I guess it was an improvement. There weren't enough towels or toilet paper for all guests. The room wasn't serviced even once during our four day stay. After the first day even the door sign requesting service somehow disappeared. We have small children and the few days we spent there were an absolute nightmare because of the hygiene hazards all over the place. The best part? All that cost us $100/150 a night.
So I was very skeptical of what we would be checking into on Saturday because of other reviews .....but let me say our room was absolutely perfect . The view was amazing . Everything was clean and in good working order . Microwave . Refrigerator . TV . Lights . Toilet flushed . Shower water pressure was nice and firm . The only complaint I would personally have are the towels are thin and we needed more of them BUT for two of us in the room they did provide 2 towels , two wash clothes and two hand towels and a bath mat. Shower was clean . Bed was comfortable with 4 pillows . We legit sat and watched the sunrise and set on the docks and fed the ducks . The little beach area out back we sat with our chairs and talked for hours . Destin Beach is about 20 minutes away and was a straight shot there . My lady swam in the Hotel pool Sunday night . The pool was lit up and clean. Providing pool towels outside would have been nice but again we have no complaints honestly . We had a pleasant experience at the Roya ! Again we had no clue why so many bad reviews and we both said this as our days went on there . Our experience was pleasant and sincerely we would definitely book another weekend getaway there . I have attached some pictures I took on the property of the property. The beach pic is Destin where we spent our days .. short drive over the hill .We stayed 9/2- 9/4. Labor Day weekend was perfect .
I booked our trip on Hotels.Com which game this"beach front hotel" 3 stars. Yes its on the bay NO would not consider the truck load of "sand?" a beach. On our 10 hours drive I read the reviews they seem to be 50/50 . So I figured we would give it a chance. We arrived at 3am (had called ahead for late check in) went to front desk got the key entered the room to be greeted by a musty smell and a very warm room. Went to use the bathroom and the toilet was broken . Wouldn't flush , had to stick my hand in back tank to get flush it. We were so exhausted from the drive we figured we would deal with it in morning. We woke at 10am went to front desk to let them know, lady was super concerned and told me it would be fixed that day. When we returned from our day 8 hours later it was still not fixed. Went back to the desk , was told the do not disturb sign was on door so guy couldn't fix it . OK so we forgot to take it off. And fix guy had gone home. Were told it would be fixed FIRST thing the next day. Asked for another room NOPE all booked up . So next day comes we leave ( make sure to remove sign . Come back 9 hours later NOT FIXED. Another lady who has no clue what we are talking about says ok we will just switch your room! Well since we were leaving the next morning at 4 am and it was 8:30 pm we told them to forget it . By now we had been using a coat hanger to flush it. Lady didn't seem to care said sorry and offered no compensation for the inconvenience. In addition I told her air conditioning barley work had to turn it to 62 just for the room to be bare able. The lamp shades were dirty and the blankets felt greasy. So I'm sorry to say we won't be back. The pictures on line shows a beautiful updated room. The only that looks a it has be updated were the floors. I tired to give it a chance , but I can only take so much. Take my advice spend the extra and save yourself the trouble.
This place was a joke!! Smoke detectors not hooked up.. room was dirty.. Shower was disgusting and no one seemed to care.. They just shrugged their shoulders and said oh well... Stay far far away from this place.
The hotel is calm and peaceful setting the sea is perfect and the rooms are spacious and bright. The personels are very helpful and friendly.I think the prices are reasobable for this kind a hotel. Thanks
First of all, I really enjoyed all the time I spent there. The hotel is a little old however the rooms ( at least #231) is rebuild. The room is big, comfortable, clean and pretty. I don't have any complains about the staff. All of them are very kind and proactive. There is a nice swimming pool and my favorite part so far are the picnic tables and the pier. This hotel is about 5 to 10 minutes to the beach and perfect for chill. I recommend! In general, I really like and I will visit more times for sure. My review didn't win 5 star because of the noise. It was impossible to sleep till 3 am but that was a not typical situation and not hotel's fault at all.
The view, sea and the swimming pool was great it was nice and quite rooms where in a good size at the hotel everyone was helpful had a great time the food was not the best but i did enjoy it see you next time !!!!
