I booked a night here in January for 1 night stay in March...I changed my mind after finding something closer to where I needed to be. I made a cancellation within 24 hours well within the guidelines for a full refund. I have a confirmation email of 5he cancellation as well. As of June more than 4 months later I am still waiting for the refund. They haven't replied to not one of my emails.. now I have to lodge a dispute with my credit card company...not happy at all!
Places like this are an endangered species. I love the charm, the personality, the luscious garden and green space, the "Old Florida Nostalgia" of Beach Motels, I love the price for such a large amount of space and amenities! I remember when A1A was lined with these motels, in Pompano and Deerfield... I only wish there were more like this! Only con, is that they closed the pool at 7pm, citing "regulations"-- one of my main reasons for coming was for the pool. And I love a good night swim! So, that's a disappoinment. Other than that, I got what I paid for (no, it's not a spic-and-span, modernly updated, shiningly clean room-- but those aren't the most important things to me in choosing a "staycation" place to stay for the night.) Donna, the lady up front who checked me in, was a pleasure to meet. I haven't seen the other rooms, but I booked a standard/studio (not the suite/full apartment that they offer), and WOW-- it's huge! I got an upstairs room-- with two double beds, a pull out couch, and full kitchen including functional gas stove, microwave, full size refrigerator, sink, and cabinets stocked with dinnerware. Not sure if all of the rooms have this? But I was impressed with both the size and functionality of the room. Free, private parking is available (I chose a parking space in the "back/corner row", which offers more privacy and isn't in the front directly off of busy A1A. This place surely won't be for everybody-- everyone has their own tastes and preferences. But I love it here, and it is exactly what I was looking for when I booked online (not having actually seen the property in person yet, so I was weary.) But it actually exceeded my expectations. Like I said, everyone has their preferences though, and this is definitely an old motel, but I thought the online pictures and descriptions made that very clear from the get-go, so I'm not sure why some of the negative comments allude to this. Last week, I was in a $200 hotel room (w/ $35 a day resort fees and $40 for valet) on Ft Lauderdale Beach-- and it was spectacular as well. But the difference between those places is like night and day, so be aware this is a MOTEL before you book it! If you're looking for a ritzy hotel, look elsewhere. But I enjoy these little beach motels even more than those fancy places sometimes, it's just a whole different experience and "feel" to it; but one I am very satisfied with!
This motel is very antiquated and has no staff to do daily housekeeping. Limited housekeeping is what review says but it's actually none. Maybe OK if only for one night. Hotels in Ft. Lauderdale are expensive but it's worth it to keep looking even if on a budget.
Rudest people I have ever met and dirtiest motel ever. Once checked in we were put in a room that we didn't book. After being moved to one with a kitchen we realized it had 2 dbl beds instead of a king. After inspection of said kitchen we decided we would rather sleep in the same bed than cook in a disgusting kitchen. We went back to the first room and cleaned all surfaces with lysol wipes as the was a layer of dirt on everything. When we were hooking up our kindle to the tv to watch Netflix out scurried a COCKROACH!!!! We quickly packed our belongings and left the room. After taking the woman working in the office we were leaving and why I told her I expected a full refund. She told me i had to cancel through booking.com since that's who we made the reservation through. I did and when we went to find her she returned with her husband and we were told to leave the property and we wouldn't be getting a refund..... for not staying there!!! Incredibly rude people and a dirty, bug ridden hotel!!! I don't recommend ANYONE to stay there!!
Upon check in, which I was early, the lady behind the desk told me that my room had been canceled! I booked through a third party and had all of my confirmation emails with me so I called the booking site and as soon as she heard me on the phone with them my room magically appeared!! I believe she was holding out for a higher payment rate.
I stayed here last night. How the Board of Health allows them to rent the unit I stayed in is beyond me. The ceiling had water stains, the carpet was stained, dirty and wet. The air conditioner was leaking water on the carpet, the springs on the bed were coming through the mattress and the sheets on the bed were filthy. I ended up sleeping on the daybed in the unit which wasn't much better. Also there was no hot water. I went to the front desk and told her all of the above, she just stared at me and said she was sorry I didn't enjoy my stay.
I booked 2 days in July had to cancel well before the date ! They took $123.00 from my account , refund policy 5-7 days ! Its now been one month !! I've called twice and spoke to a woman who said she'd take care of it , today I called and get no answer !! Its been 1 month !! August 1st today !!
I was sooo pleased with my first visit here, going on 2 years ago, I wrote a review. I’m now completely my 6th stay at Sea Cove and have added my parents as additional lovers of this place (after years of them staying at Lauderdale By the Sea.) First off, simply the price cannot be matched for the incredible location and proximity to the beach. There are 2 beach accesses, within 1 block of each other, directly across the street! Second, the horticulture/landscaping completely separate you from being off a highway. I feel like I’m in a beautiful, secret garden cove. Third, and this is another major returning decision for myself, is the amazing hospitality and flexibility of the manager Donna! She is incredible. This place is quiet, comfortable, and safe. Within walking distance of restaurants and just down the street from the corner of “Happy and Healthy”, where I was able to purchase everything I didn’t pack. And if the beach isn’t your thing, the pool is very clean; surrounded by trees (but with plenty of sun);and big enough to do some laps or just cool off.
My wife and I decided at the last minute to take a mini vaca. We found Sea Cove Resort Motel. Check in was quick and easy. It's a quaint little place. Close to the beach and just 2 miles from loads of dinning and music. Very inexpensive, clean and quiet. Sparkling pool and nicely landscaped. Downside.... The blinds could be replaced or curtains installed. It's a bit dated. Really reminds you of old Florida. Good for the price. And a goid choice for a quick getaway.
Firstly, the photos of the room do not correspond to reality when booking. On the site it was said that this is a studio, in fact it turned out to be a small room, dirty, with a burnt blanket, a crumbling bed and cockroaches! The managers of the motel refused to compensate for the inconvenience, moreover they behaved incompetently and rudely. At 11.00 we were put outside the door, refusing to give 10 minutes to finish prepair of suitcases. Terrible place!
