No WIFI inside our room. This Hotel is still using the ''OLD'' TV. I reserved 2 rooms, no chairs, no table in one room.In my roon, we do not have plates. Pooooor Banana! Ayyy yayyy yayyyy!!!
Not worth more than a crappy motel anywhere else on the keys.
This hotel is good if you're not picky and looking for something that doesn't cost a whole arm and leg. It was still not worth the price for $170/night. The decor of the room is extremely outdated. The sink vanity and the bed side table were falling apart. The mattress was pretty uncomfortable. But this was the cheapest hotel we could find, and it was nice because it was close to our destination, all the while not being too close. So it was pretty quiet. The pool was nice and clean. It's on the beach so there were nice views of the gulf. And the continental breakfast was decent. No meat, I was hoping for bacon or sausage. But plenty of bagels, danishes, cereal or waffles. Also, it seemed like the room I was given, room 204, was the crapiest of the rooms? My brother was in the room next door and his room was much nicer. We could also see into the other rooms when the maid staff was cleaning as they would leave the doors open, and it definitely seemed like all the other rooms were nicer than ours, so seems like we paid as much as others and got the crap end of the stick. I'm not a rich person so wasn't looking for a luxury hotel. And for me I was happy the room was clean. But I expected just a little nicer than what I got.
The room was dirty full of spider webs paint coming off the wall hot it took 3 hours for the air conditioner to half way cool the room it was not clean it and smell clean really bad experience
Do NOT come to this location, my fiancé and I woke up with a roach crawling on top of us! Disgusting, then the manager wants to proceed to say... "It happens" absolutely not!!!! Disgusting!
Black mold inside the so called 1950,s vintage kitchen cabinets. Filthy beyond description. Do not waste your money. The place would make a Billy goat puke. Only seeing it and smelling it would do it justice. I have seen some awful hotels in my life ,but this was the worst. It really needs to be bull dozed. This is not an exaggeration.
Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable and the resort feeling. Some of the fixtures and television needed some updating but worked ok. Breakfast area needed updating and cleaner. View of the bay and pool was nice. Building was older but kept up.
We really liked the room we got it was on the corner next to the marina! The room are great with grills and huge!!! Perfect location to rent bikes and head to town! We enjoyed staying here! The resort is outdated but seemed quite clean. The door lock broke so we got locked out and had to crawl through the window, that was a downfall. We loved we had a kitchenette!
The only positive to staying at the hotel was the front office staff. I would never stay or recommend this resort. Old dates and not well kept.
The hotel was the perfect place to spend the night during our first visit to Key West. Staff was pleasant, helpful and very accommodating. The property is lushly landscaped and while not completely up to date, served our purposes just fine. Would certainly return again.
We were looking for an adult hotel with no kids and this was it. A quick taxi ride to Duval Street.....Had a great time!
We just went there for a short period of time, but the hotel was a good bargain, friendly staff, clean rooms, has a beautiful pool and a tasty breakfast included.
Definitely a great price for a cozy hotel. Beautiful ocean view just a small distance away with hammocks, bbqs and tiki huts. The pool was decent and there were no children which made the experience pleasantly peaceful haha. The gym was always open and machines worked well. Breakfast was complimentary, awesome waffles can be eaten outside with the view. The pool bar wasn't open at all on our stay which was disappointing but thats what key west was for so it was cool.
The rooms were old and not very clean. We found the carpets were wet and sticky. For the price that the charge it is not worth going for.
First visit to Key West, I picked this place based on price. About 10 minutes from the middle of Key West. The location was fine. The staff were ok at best. There is no kitchen on the premises. The bar at the pool never opened. The motel itself is somewhat worn and could use an upgrade.
We were very pleased with our stay at Banana Bay Resort. It was a good value, especially for the Labor Day weekend. The pool was large (for Key West), they had lots of nice chaise lounges, tables & chairs, & beach towels were available. There was also lots of seating available at the waterfront area. Breakfast was ok - coffee, juice, waffle maker, bagels, pastries, cereal, some fruit. James at the front desk was so nice every time we spoke by phone and also on arrival/check in. Thanks James!!! The only disappointment was that there was no bar service poolside at this time. Would definitely stay here again.
This place could be nice but it needs a good scrubbing and some new paint. The price was attractive. The pool could be cleaner and during our stay the hot tub wasn't working. The breakfast included waffles, mini sweet rolls regular sweet rolls, muffins, cereal, coffee and juice. All in all it was a C- stay. I would pass the above info on to a friend and let them make up their own mind.
Bed is nice but no curve appeal. Every thing looks old . The place needs major repairs.
Sadly, this hotel is just not worth the price of the rooms. Pay a little extra and stay somewhere worth it. There were fruit flies in our room. The AC was incredibly loud. The bed was squeaky. And overall just a dirty hotel. The staff on the other hand are very nice. Once I complained about the bugs in the room they upgraded us to a suite, which was nicer than the room but still not very nice overall.
