The hotel is situated directly by the main station which is very convenient if you're coming by train. As for the wi-fi, it was awfully slow given the self-promoted high speed internet of the hotel. The room was neat but the shower/bath was much better as a bath than a shower given the badly situated door. Finally, we really appreciated the breakfast and the early check-in.
very smart, all you could expect in its class. Modern style and real nice and warm, hard to get in the parking, one needs to turn in sharp left before passing main door, otherwise you have drive round and that is not a given task ! very good restaurant but not cheap ! staff was very friendly and helpful on many occasions. slight disappointment was the fact that they did not replenish the milk and tea bags in the room; when I telephoned on the last morning, it did not work as my Italien not good enough ??
My mom stay in a renovated room and it is very good, I stayed in an old one and it was not so good. Both rooms were very big (bathroom too). Breakfast has a great variety. Just excellent. Great staff too.
My two nieces and I stayed at the Londra for two nights. The room was very small, and we had a view of a tailor shop (sewing machines and materials) and someone's very cluttered garage. There were mosquitoes in the room that bit us at night. The hotel is by the train station, which is convenient but noisy. The front desk was unfriendly, never offered to help with our bags or make suggestions for restaurants. The breakfast was delicious, but the waiter wanted us to sit with another family so as to not dirty a table. Unbelievable!
Stayed four nights and found the hotel to be excellent. Asked for room at the back which was quiet apart from people above moving around late at night. Room was very spacious and comfortable bed. Breakfast each day was one of the best with an amazing selection. The location is very accessible particularly for train station when going to/from airport and bus station for trips to Sienna etc. Would definitely stay again.
This hotel is in a great location if you are looking to walk around Florence as it is close to everything, including the main train station. The room we had was reasonably large and spacious with a really large balcony, which was great with the warm weather we had. The room faced the street it was not noisy at all. Great restaurant and an excellent breakfast provided. Recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay again.
We stayed as part of a tour and this hotel was a late change to our itinerary. We booked two rooms but weren't able to have adjoining, instead they were next to each other meaning an adult needed to share with a young child in each room. The rooms we were allocated were absolutely horrendous. Not only were they nothing like their website advertised, they were filthy too. Our rooms looked like they were straight out of the late 50's. everything was beige and grubby. The safe was so tiny it could barely fit our passports let alone the tour wallet. There were large holes and cracks in the walls and black mould all over the bathroom ceiling. But worse than all this was finding long black hairs inside all four beds, both inside the sheets and also visible under the sheets. The bathrooms and bench tops were also covered in hairs and the toilets were filthy. We had to get clean sheets late at night before we could get our children off to bed and before we could sleep too, it was awful. At breakfast the next morning, we heard from other folk in our tour that they had an absolutely stunning room which was confusing. So we mentioned the state of our rooms to our tour director and showed him photos of the dozens of hairs we had throughout our rooms. Thankfully he was able to communicate this to the front desk staff and we eventually were moved to two newer rooms. The price of both rooms were listed in each room and unbelievably they were the same. So if you are going to stay here, please make sure you request a modern room as the difference in these rooms is beyond vast. The rooms we were moved to were exactly as presented on the hotel website, white and bright and CLEAN! An apology bottle of wine was also left in one room. Hotels in Italy don't have irons in the rooms so you need to get items pressed by staff. I took a dress to reception at 7am in anticipation of wearing it to dinner that night. When I returned to the hotel at 3.30pm, it wasn't in my room so I went to reception to enquire. They said it wouldn't be due back until 9pm!! 14 hours to press a dress? It turned out that they'd made a mistake and sent it across town to a dry cleaner. Aargh. Because of the time of day, they were unable to get it back to me, so I was unable to wear it which was so disappointing as it had been purchased specifically for this night out and wasn't used for the rest of my trip. There was no apology either verbal or a note left, I just found the dress on my bed when we retuned later that night. I wouldn't recommend The Londra. There are plenty of other lovely hotels at the same price point in Florence.
Stayed at this hotel as a part of a whistle stop tour of Italy, staying just one night in Florence. Expected something fairly standard as we had chosen to stay near the station for ease of travel and fitting as much in as possible in our limited time. The good points- it is within a 5 minute walk of the station and some of the main attractions of the city. Breakfast had reasonable selection. The bad points- uncomfortable bed and a pillow each with just one spare pillow in the room. There is poor soundproofing and therefore noises in the hallway all night lead to a restless sleep. Also a considerable amount of mould in the shower. At €180 plus city tax definitely expected better.
It was a very pleasant, wonderful stay!!!! Had a fantastic room with my own private balcony.... view of the city and sun all day round if I wanted to stay in!!!! It was a superior deluxe room.... Furthermore the hotel was within EASY walking distance from the places of interest.... What DID displease me, was the horrible way housekeeping looked after you.... Everything seemed to be too much for the cleaning lady and you had indeed to ask for the things that you wanted or that were missing.... But by enlarge, a wonderful stay in an incredible city but for the hotel.... rating 3.... Though the bed was great and comfortable and the bathroom nice.... All bec. of housekeeping....
We stayed two nights at this comfortable hotel in Florence. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was equipped with the usual toiletries. The location appeared to be remote from the areas of interest, and on one evening we strolled a fair distance to find a restaurant for our evening meal. The breakfasts were acceptable, and on one evening we were provided with dinner as part of our travel group. The meal was acceptable, but not outstanding.
