The room was normal but there was dust everywhere, the blankets was dirty and it smells bad, the windows don't isolate the noise from street. The images from site are different in reality. Only the bathroom was clean. I wanted to change the room. no chance. they changed the towels and sheets everyday. the breakfast was normal for a 3*. The price was huge for this quality. I paid in advance so I had to stay here
I stayed at this hotel on the first and last night of my recent trip to Tuscany (having previously stayed there a couple of years ago). The location is great. Very central on Via Nazionale, just round the corner from the central market and no more than ten minutes walk to the Duomo. The area is quite lively but the rooms were quiet. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast buffet is ok. If you can, get one of the rooms at the back which have a little balcony. Overall brilliant value for its location - I will look no further for future trips to Florence.
Have just returned from a weeks stay in this hotel. It's family run and nothing is too much trouble. On arrival we were told that we were in a double room, when in fact we were expecting a twin room. They immediately apologised and asked for a few minutes to sort it out, which they did. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, recommending restaurants etc. The location, for all the best sites in Florence, is perfect, with everything being within easy walking distance, including the train station. We found the trains to be efficient, on time and clean. All in all a great place to stay to experience all that Florence has to offer.
We arrived to the hotel late at night and a very friendly concierge named Albi greeted us. He was very helpful and nice, he gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. Would stay at the same place mainly because of him. The hotel itself is cozy and comfortable. Rooms are a bit small, but that was expected for Florence. We only had an issue with the AC, for some reason it was giving out warm air instead of cold. But we had a balcony and the weather was nice enough to just have the door open. All in all it was a very pleasant stay, all the staff is helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Convenient for the station - just a few hundred yards from the mercato. Hotel is based on 2nd and 3rd floor of a building on the via Nationale. Hotel is clean and the staff pleasant. The rooms are not big, but adequate. The bathroom was small and you had to manoeuvre around the bidet to get to the shower. The shower was not the best I have had, but ok. We were located overlooking the via Nationale - there were no noise issues from outside (as long as windows closed and aircon in), but noise did seem to carry within the hotel a little. Breakfast was decent (usual Italian fare of meat, cheese, croissants, cereal, coffee, fruit etc). The set up was one long table seating 12 and a few smaller tables in a separate room. Fairly cosy. Have given this 3 stars but it is nearer 3.5. Would stay here again, but might look elsewhere first.
After we spend one night in Bologna we came Firenze and of course booked our room before. I guess Hote Kursaal is the best option we looked. We stay with our 8 months baby and have no problem. Breakfast is good an rooms are clean. We like to come again next year.
I stayed here in June with my family for our first time to Florence. We picked it because of the location and proximity of the train station so walking to and from the station was easy and convenient. Surrounding area is nice and lots of food options. Hotel itself is nice and so were the staff. Unfortunately we disliked the room size and size of the bathroom but we had a low expectation to begin with. The linen was not the best and our bed covers seemed old. Linen made us very itchy to a point where we didn't even cover up with them. The breakfast was a nice but not grand. Still appreciated since not many hotels offer free breakfast.Change your linens and I would give you guys another try.
This old hotel definitely needs some renovation and work. Our stay was certainly only ok and not very comfortable. The reception staff were polite but the cleaners barely did anything. The first night we came back to the hotel, we found that the staff had left the door unlocked (the hotel reception is in the 3rd floor and street people can walk in without going through the reception). The bathroom was clean, but had terrible plumbing, with a difficult low-pressure shower and toilet. The shower head ran at barely a trickle, causing very uncomfortable bathing at night. Breakfast was barely average with a small, ok, selection. Will not be coming back. Don't recommend.
Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. We had three rooms in total. In one room the safe wouldn't work but the guy fixed it, the last people had stolen the batteries!!!! One other room phone didn't work but that's no big deal. Very clean room, normal average breakfast for Italy. Great location for the town. Friendly staff.
Florence is indeed a romantic city but I can definitely say that this hotel is an added value to this city. it is such a cozy place..and perfectly located in one of the main city squares..it is just a walking distance from the bus station or even from the Duomo (in less than 15 minutes time you can reach Duomo unless you are lazy enough as to take the bus). The staff are really friendly and helpful. They were always wearing a smile on their faces and they were always willing to assist you with everything you needed. Breakfast is provided on place and rooms suffice everyone's needs (at least we went there for leisure and we spent most of the time outside). Despite being a 3 star hotel, this does not make it a 3 star at all - On the contrary it was worth the money (great value for the money). So, next time you are considering visiting Florence give it a go here!
