Staying in Hotel City for me is just a perfect choice in exploring city centre Florence. Ran by its owner (I think), it is very homey, warm and cozy. It is tucked away in one of Florence's side street so it's quiet and not too busy, but your literally steps away from the action and must-see sites. Walking distance to the Train bus terminals, so access to transport is easy.

We loved this hotel. Family run, quiet, hospitable and welcoming, we will make it our first choice next time we visit Florence. Handy for the train station, they even prepared an early breakfast for us as we were getting the early train.

We booked this hotel because we were looking for something inexpensive, so we didn’t have any specific expectations. What a lovely find! Definitely worth an Excellent rating for a three-star hotel. Just minutes from the train station, and a quick walk to the Duomo and Mercato Centrale. The room was very comfortable. The shower was larger than is typical for Europe. Breakfast was great, with really good cappuccinos made upon request. Very friendly hotel staff. They even left a bottle of Spumante for us in our room as a New Year’s Eve gift. Highly recommend. We’ll definitely stay here again if we make it back to Florence!

This is the third time that we have stayed at this hotel, and we would go back in a heart beat. The staff is friendly and professional. Our room (26) was huge, as was the ensuite. Although this hotel could be noisy on this street, we found that the shuttered windows blocked out the noise, especially when we closed the bathroom door. Breakfast offers a huge selection, and we found that although we had to leave early on two of our mornings, the breakfast was ready a half hour ahead of time. This hotel is an easy walk to the train station, a plus since we used the train for our jaunts outside the city, but it is sheltered from the busy train area by several quiet streets. We paid cash (several installments during our visit) to get a ten percent discount. Also hand for us was a self-service laundry only three doors from the hotel.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel City while visiting Florence, Italy. The hotel is very close to the train station (approximately 3-4 blocks) from which many tours to nearby towns originate. We stayed in Room 41 on the third floor which is very roomy and has a nice bathroom as well as a sitting room. An elevator is available to the upper floors. There is no safe in the rooms but a safe is available at the check-in desk which is manned 24 hours a day. Breakfast is included with the room reservation and was available from 7:30 to 10 AM. There are some restaurants close-by serving primarily Italian food as well as the food court at the Central Market 4 blocks away which is worth the experience. As for touring Florence from the hotel, most sights can be seen by walking. We would stay there again if we return to Florence.

This was our second trip to Florence. Several days before joining a tour and cooking group. The Hotel is located about a 10-minute walk from the Firenze SMN train station. Rooms are adequate and bathrooms are spacious. Breakfast is European with American coffee on request. Hotel staff are very helpful. Location is excellent. Easy 6 minute walk to the Domo, The Ufizzi about 20 minutes, Mercato Centrale about 3 minutes (don’t miss this. See review). Our Favorite restaurant in Florence “La Padellaccia” is just across the street from the Hotel. (see review). There is a lift in the hotel and all is very clean and quiet. I had thought about trying another Hotel but based on our last experience we did not change.

Very nice hotel. Staff is very friendly, breakfast is great and coffee is delicious. Walls are maybe a little bit thiny if neighbors are too loud. They also have parking in the neighborhood...it is payable but it is few steps away.

Ok, first of all don't let the name turn you off. It did me at first but the excellent reviews made me give it a shot. I was thrilled with the accomodations. The room was larger than most of the european hotels I've stayed at and the bathroom was mch larger and better supplied. The rooms are well insulated from sound both in the hotel and from the street. And the included breakfast was the best I had at any of the hotels we stayed at during our 3-week excursion. It is located within a couple blocks of the train terminal so you don't need a cab to get there and it is in the heart of everything going on in Florence. Beds are comfortable and climate controls work very well. It is an extremely good value for a stay in the heart of Florence. If you are driving, however, you will not be able to take your car into the neighborhood and will have to find a parking lot to leave it in.

Nice clean hotel. Breakfast is fantastic with lots of options to fill you up until dinner. Beds are clean, comfortable and rooms are a nice size with large shower. Location is close to city center and lots of shops and restaurants outside your door.

I found the Hotel City to be perfectly located in the city of Florence. It was a few minute walk to the main train station which is also where a lot of tours begin as a meeting point. It also was close to the domo , again just a short walk. There were pleatlyof great resturaunts near by. The room was very clean and the staff cordial. In the morning we were greeted with a free breakfast that had a lot to choose from including scrabled eggs. The desk is open 24 hours as well. I really enjoyed my stay the room was clean , the ac crisp and the atmosphere beautiful.
