This hotel is perfectly placed. Its right near the major attractions. Its cheap and cheerful. The staff are all lovely. It's a bit rough. For one, some of the rooms you have to share a bathroom and toilet with other rooms. We were told our room was shared bathroom so we paid more each night to have our own bathroom right across the hall from our room. When we got to our bathroom, the toilet was dirty and there were used tampons in the bin. It says all cleaned by the next day. The rooms don't have AC, they have fans which work really well. Basically, it's cheap and cheerful in a fantastic location but if you want your own bathroom then go elsewhere. We chose not to have the breakfast, we ate out, there's McDonald's right round the corner. Great location though and the staff are lovely.
Centrally located, gave us excellent advice on available tours which made our stay a memorable one. Without that advice we could have a totally different stay in Florence. The Centro is well located a stone throw away from everything. Enjoyed our stay.
I cannot praise this hotel enough!! The staff were just absolutely incredible, so helpful and welcoming and always going out of their way, no matter what time of day. The room was great and everything was very clean. An added bonus was that despite our booking being for a shared bathroom we got our own one all to ourselves. A nice little result I would say!! The location of the hotel was perfect, you literally couldn't have got any closer to the centre. However this does have a downside, as we learnt the hard way on the first night. We slept with the window open and had the worst night sleep of our trip because of the noise. The following nights we made sure the window was closed and the fan was on. Would definitely stay here again when I come back to Florence, great place, great people and great value for money!!
For the price, was very reasonable. Was slightly loud during the night, but that can be expected on a busy street. It was very clean and great location. Only a five minute walk from the Saturday leather market.
Very friendly owner and staff. Our 2 night stay was pleasant, with a large comfortable bed, good sized bathroom with hot shower and nice view onto a side street 2 min away from the center. The owner gave us a quick overview of the city on a map which was super helpful. Definitely made out day. Would recommend.
The location of this hotel is great, very close to the Duomo and the Central Markets. However, the room I had initially was on the first night was on the first floor with old single-glazed windows and was incredibly noisy. Despite ear plugs, I had a very poor nights sleep. However, on speaking to the very helpful staff I moved into a room on the second floor with double glazing and my stay was much more comfortable. The staff a a real asset to this hotel; they are very friendly and professional and solved my problem quickly and efficiently. The hotel itself is a bit dated in terms of decor but spotlessly clean and very well located. Provided you get the right room I think this is an excellent pick for a well located, budget-priced base for a trip to Florence.
Super central location, ZaZa restaurant right around the corner on the food market piazza. Duomo and San Lorenzo are within 2-5 mins. Hospitality was really great, especially the nightguard from the phillippines. Rooms were clean and shared bathroom facility was nice, and cleaned several times a day. Can keep Your luggage on the last day in town.
This hotel was clean, in the middle of Florence, within walking distance of the train station and all the sights. Unfortunately though, there were some real issues with our room which made our stay more of an adventure than we expected. The air conditioner had a light on it indicating it was "ON" but did nothing to cool the room or even move air around. So... we turned on the ceiling fan which began to wobble, then twist, then came out of its screws on the ceiling and FELL! Thankfully, the wiring held and it did not come crashing down on our heads but stopped several feet above us. Scared us to death though! On a good note, the hotel sent a fix-it guy up immediately to reattach the fan to the ceiling while we walked around Florence. Had a wonderful time eating gelato and drinking in the culture. What a magical place. Returned to the room, ceiling fan fixed... flipped on the TV to watch the soccer match and the TV had no picture, just sound. When we let the front desk know, the man said it was okay because we were only there for one night. Um, not the best answer. Would I stay there again? Only if I couldn't find another place. When we booked, we knew it was not going to be 5 stars. It was what we paid for plus some unforgettable extras that make for great travel stories.
If you are traveling by car, don't believe these liars about their parking and how they will take care of everything. Not only we had to pay the 25 euro parking price, but also the fine of 70 euros for getting into limited traffic zone in Florence. Now, in Florence, if you got into a limited traffic zone, you get on a list that will be fined, unless one of the city parking lots will take you off it, if you use their services. That's what they were supposed to do and that's what we were promised after asking them several times to make sure. And here we are with a fine. LIARS!
This hotel is basically ok and at an excellent location. Staff or friendly, helpful and uncomplicated. The place is clean. The main issue is that the quality of the rooms varies a lot: If you have a room with an en-suite bathroom, the room will be large and very nice. If you have one where you share the one common bathroom with other other rooms, your room will be tiny (and noisy - at least in our room it was impossible to close the window completely.) And one bathroom for several rooms is not enough - it will often be occupied when you want it. So, make sure you get a (more expensive) room with its own bathroom.
