Needed a place to stay close to the centre so commuting didn't take too long, but not too close so it was very expensive. This was well located. It was about 15 minutes walk to get into the centre and further to the river but easily manageable. It's quite disguised on the street and located on the second floor so took us by surprise. Room was a good size for the 2 of us, plug sockets both sides of the bed as well. The curtains didn't really work as curtains and it took abit of DIY for us to block some of the light out to sleep. When the sun rose again it was too bright so sleeping was cut short. Bathroom was ok sized but really needs modernising. Shower was tiny, really tiny. Toilet made lots and lots of noise when flushed which was a little annoying. Overall as a place to stay in Florence for a couple of days it was alright.
Arrived at hotel and were assigned to a room with filthy walls that had holes in it where once was a bedside light. When we complained, the receptionist said we'd booked an "economy" room. I showed her we'd booked a standard double. She told us to take it up with hoteles.com whom we had booked it through. There was no shower curtain hence the floor was wet, a safety hazard. Breakfast was a cold buffet of the same things 3 days running. On all 3 nights, the hotel was full of teenage school kids on excursions. On the plus side, the wifi was good, the hotel is close to the centre and it was relatively cheap. Don't book a room here based on photos on the web page. I find some of the reviews incredulous. One person said "breakfast was a blast" - he must be a cold ham and plastic cheese addict. It's also curious that many of the gushingly positive reviews are from people who have only commented once on Tripadvisor, that is, to praise this, cough, hotel
The worst experience ever. Very small and old room , cold and very old and bad toilet. The breakfast was very poor and the staff seemed rather borred. There was no hot water at all and the WC was moving from its base.
In our room there was a fungal infection. A plug was hanging out the wall, and large parts of the wall was broken down by the floor. Breakfast was worse than expected, and consisted of defrosted mini baguettes and boring croissants. The few good things was the staff and location.
All good, except when we were asked to pay my card did not work. Be careful and pay as soon as you check in, otherwise you may have a sticky situation on your hands. ew.....other than that the place was great.
We had a great stay in Hotel Benvenuti and ended up staying longer than planned. The beds were comfy, the wifi was good and the bathroom was clean. The staff were super friendly and happy to help us with ideas for Florence. Situated in a good location, not too far from the city centre. would recommend.
It is located on Via Cavour which is one of the main streets that leads directly to the Duomo (about a 10 minute walk from the hotel) and then only a right turn and another 5 minute walk takes you to Piazza della replubbica, where there is great live music, a carousel, great cafes, and benches to people watch. The room was bright and had a huge window which allowed lots of natural light. The air conditioner got the job done and the tv was the biggest one I have had in hostel-priced hotel. Only issue was the shower which was a bit tiny. It worked for my 5 foot 4 frame but my 6 foot tall sister banged against the sliding doors the entire time. Staff was very pleasant and helpful! A great stay in Firenze!
1. Don't let the location turn you away. If you don't mind walking, it is very easy to get to the center (you can literally see the Duomo going down the hotel street). 2. The room and bathroom were very clean. They provide you with warm blankets, which we didn't even need because the heating was mostly good. 3. Very nice and helpful staff. 4. The only critic: beware of the wi-fi! If you don't have 3G and need internet to plan your trip, think twice, the connection there was faulty and hardly ever worked at all. 5. It is a budget hotel, as it's said on the description. Don't go expecting luxury. The building is old and not very pretty, but everything worked well and was clean and comfortable. All in all, very good value for money, just needs to get better wi-fi.
This hotel is well positioned, starting from the Duomo you just have to go up the street Cavour to the it´s end. Along the street you will find shops, convenience stores, restaurants and also several bus stops. The staff of the hotel are very nice and are very helful. The breakfeast does not present much variety, but it's enough. Clean rooms, clean towels every day if you request. The hotel street is quiet.
We stayed for one night in November 2014.I don't suggest this place to anyone. The pictures of the room are a lot different from the reality. The hotel needs renovation Only the staff was good friendly and helpful.
