Stayed 3 nights here with family and friends of 8. location 5-10 mins walk from firenze santa maria station. eatery: McD, Mercato Centrale (MUST VISIT!!! vamperatto beef sandwich.I missed it soooo much), chinese restaurants. Gelato. ALL WALKING DISTANCE. you wont get hungry. supermart: sapori & dintorni also walking distance, few blocks away from McD. tourist spot: duomo is walking distance. of course can walk all the way to ponte vechio. weather is nice to for walk. Hotel: Friendly receptionist, ready to provide you every info about Florence. drop your key at the receptionist before you leave hotel, and collect it back when you return to your room. Breakfast. wide spread of choice. serve good cheese :) Rooms: clean room and bedding, basic amenities are provided. Toilet is rather small ( no seperate compartment for shower and toilet bowl). Soundproof of the room is bad. so everybody will try to be quiet. Overall. Will return for another stay because the location is convenient and room rate is value for money.
The staff were excellent, and accommodating, Leonado who was on reception was a fountain of knowledge and gave sound and sensible advice on his experience of the city. my wife lost here earring in the room so the staff completely cleared and cleaned the room after we left, found it and sent it to my address in England. The breakfast was continental and buffet with endless tea and coffee, the room had everything one would expect, and the location was in the centre of the city near all the attractions the city has to offer, and very close to the central train station.
Nino is a very friendly and helpful manager with perfect English. He shared with me a map to all of the historical buildings and advised me not to waste money on the discount card to visit the museums due to my extremely stay. Instead he suggested I take the ATAF bus number 12 or 13 for Euro 1.50 only for a panoramic view of Florence. The hotel is located just 4 minutes walk from Firenze SMN Train Station, the free walking tour and supermarket. There are many restaurants around the area. Good hotel in a great location!
The location of the hotel is great and the staff were very helpful directing to places. The beds weren't great and nor was the shower/wet room. Wifi only works in the lobby and on the first floor, frustrating as the lobby was mostly full. Nice selection at breakfast which was good for the price.
Reception staff were very friendly. Close to train station. Room was small and very basic. Bed and pillows were not good. Stayed 2 nights ended up with a sore back. Bathroom was small and smelt. Breakfast was basic but ok. The hotel in general requires a major renovation. I'd give this hotel a 1 star only not a 3 star as advertised.
Stayed 1 night at the hotel Ascot, we travelled from Bologna and the hotel was about a 200m from that station, which was great because is was 40 degrees and myself and my partner where struggling. The man working at reception (his name escapes me), was super friendly and his English was great. The location was better than I expected with a lot of major tourist sites, busses and trains only a short distance from the front door. The room was small and basic but where exceptionally clean. The price was also very good, in comparison to other hotels in the area. Really great experience :)
Within a 5 minute walk of treno Centrale, great location. Lift access, basic breakfast, although great barrista coffee. Basic rooms, yet serves the purpose. No faults for overall cleanliness. View from level 4 and 5 balcony was rather commanding and impressive with the Tuscan mountains afar.
This hotel is in a great location. Close to train station and walking distamce to all the main sights. Breakfast basic. The only real downside was the beds. The hotel deffinately needs to upgrade their beds!!!!!!!
Very helpful staff! Basic breakfast but good coffee! Good location near railway station, and if you have a rental car is easy to park very near Garage Nazionale (29€/24h for medium size car). Walking distance all of main tourist sights like Duomo, Ponte Vecchio etc. Also quite easy access to Chianti area visiting for example Ruffino vineyards, Tenuta Poggio Casciano, or like Greve in Chianti or some other little village nearby.
Room small, with old furniture and small bathroom , water goes all over the floor, so towels get wet! air conditioning doesn't work. breakfast not bad! good services,Not far from the centre , and the museum's .
