Hotel Ascot

Hotel Ascot is an ideal hotel for those traveling from the train station as it is at most a 5 minute walk. The staff was great and very accommodating even after we had checked out, letting us use their restroom and wifi. The room was clean and we had a nice balcony view. For those looking for plush accommodations and premium bedding this is not that type of place. Our bed(s) was very comfortable. The shower was a bit tricky but nothing to complain about. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel for its location and those who will be out all day and just need a place to crash.

We stayed Breakfast was good. Room was cold and the second night we had to ask for a room heater as they told us they start heating the rooms only in November. Internet was available only in the hotel lobby. First night there was no hot water left, we had to shower with luke-warm water at best at 1:00 am. Staff was nice and friendly though.

Except for its perfect location, everything else disappointed me! Can't believe it is a 3-star one!!!

hotel is ok, rooms very small but excellent location a couple of blocks from train station. the staff is very friendly and helpfull. for a budget hotel is fine

This hotel has much to be desired. Florence hotels in general seem to be more expensive than say Naples or Rome due to I don't know, maybe the smaller city and high tourist rates, and this place was a bit pricier for a 2-star hotel. The bathroom had mildew growing on some of the walls and ceiling, and there was no shower stall, the shower was merely the whole bathroom. Picture how you'd shower in a winnebago and that is basicly how you shower in this hotel, squatting over a toilet and a bidet and avoiding the sink. I had a triple room and it was tinier than other triple-level rooms I've had in Italy. On the plus side the staff is very friendly and helpful, and Florence is a beautiful city. Stay here if you can't afford something better or plan to spend zero time in the room.

We arrived at the hotel - with our 5 years old - to hear that there were no rooms anymore... and we have been sent to another hotel outside the center. What is annoying then is that other people arrived after us and they magically got rooms! Very unprofessional. The room was small, the bathroom particularly tiny and the shower was IN the bathroom. Unusable. Old furniture. A hotel experience to forget!!
