Stayed 2 nights oct 23/24 2017. Great location, very walkable to duomo. Decent breakfast included. Small room but nice. Only 2 problems are the bed mattress is horrible. It's like your laying on a box spring. I've slept in hotels, motels around the globe and it is up there as the worst. We piled up towels on the bed to soften it a bit. And the water pressure from the shower is minimal at best. I would stay here again if the mattress was upgraded.
Pros: 1. location was good, very close to the city center 2. spacious room with dressing corner 3. nice design inside the room Cons: 1. tiny and very slow elevator 2. needs renovation 3. bed is already worn though still confy 4. parking is located far from the hotel and very expensive. You should request at reception to bring the car at least 20 min before exit
This was my second time in Hotel de la Pace, and I loved it. The rooms are so spacious and the staff is very friendly; they gave us wonderful recommendations for dinner, even called the owner of one of the restaurants to make a reservation for us! The breakfast is great too, they have a good variety. The street the hotel is on leads directly to the Duomo (13min walk), it is also the same street as the Galleria Dell'accademia. I love the location and the price....we stayed for 3 days; we wanted to go to Venice and Pisa but didn't want to pay for the expensive hotels so we just took the train from Florence to Venice in the morning it was like 15 euros and then a train back at night...it was so worth it, instead of paying $250 for one night in Venice. We did the same to go to Pisa and then we left by train to Rome.
Stayed in the hotel for two nights. The hotel is good, but not great. I would say - average. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable, but the sound isolation was terrible. I could hear every sound that people from the room next to mine made. The breakfast was quite bland and with a little choice of something different than sweet cakes and buns.
My girlfriend and I stayed here and absolutely loved it. Our room was huge and had a beautiful big balcony and a king sized bed. If you’re staying here you should definitely request a room with a balcony, it’s a great place to have your morning coffee or to relax at the end of the day. The hotel is really centrally located and is a great place to explore Florence from. There are loads of restaurants and shops close by and a bus stop right outside the hotel. The staff were always incredibly friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was amazing and had lots of options. There is also an amazing restaurant and wine bar a short walk away called Nabucco which has an all you can eat dinner special for €8. I would 100% recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.
This hotel looks nice but the service is terrible. We had no water three days. The hotel staff gave no explanations, never said sorry, misinformed us repeatedly, and were reluctant in handing out water bottles. Furthermore, room service was bad (no towels) and the elevator repeatedly got stuck. Go somewhere else!
We stay three days in Florence where we were able to walk everywhere in town. The Duomo, La Accademia with Michelangelo's David, the Ufizzi, and the Palazo Veccio, and Santa Croce. Breakfast was great for a walking day. Rooms clean and in a great old fashion for Californians. We loved that old style. I would be back if I return to Firenze :)
My husband and I went to Pisa and Florence for our summer holiday and stayed in hotel De la Pace while in Florence. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with all our questions, the breakfast was excellent and the room was fantastic. Would definitely stay here again.
Pro:the best hung about the hotel is the location, a few min away from train station. Has a kettle and coffee making facilities, but no plug to use the kettle. Mini market right outside and around the corner. Restaurants are available on doorstep. Buffet Breakfast is available at 9 Euro. We did not try, we had an early train. Staff at reception very helpful Cons:hotel is very old and furniture needs to be replaced. The area looks a bit seedy with a lot of homeless people just sitting around. No fridge no safe
This Hotel is close to the David Museum and convenient to good restaurants and monuments. The staff were very efficient, helpful with getting us settled and providing directions etc. The rooms are very modern for a very old hotel, The only negative was the noisy airconditioning (we could not slow down the fan).
