We ended our 2-week trip with a 3-night stay at Fiordland Lodge. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Andy, to the parting goodbye we received from Maize, our stay could not have been better. The lodge itself is gorgeous and the views breathtaking. However, the service is what really made it. Andy was always available to offer very useful local information and to make any accommodation you desired. The food was outstanding and Laura and her dining room staff made the breakfast and dinner dining experiences delightful - great people! We did the "heli-hike" to Luxmore Hut. The helicopter picked us up on the front lawn... couldn't have been more perfect! I highly recommend staying here and would go back in a heartbeat if we lived closer.

The lodge is gorgeously rustic and the views of Lake Te Anau and the mountains are gorgeous. The front lawn is majestically mowed and the resident dog, Maisy, is a joy to witness running on the lawn. Andy and Deni were gracious hosts making sure we had a wonderful experience. Our meals were delicious, refined, and expertly prepared. Our room was nice but not luxurious. Understandably, there is no AC but we were there on some hot days so sleeping was a little stuffy. Our only wish was for satellite television so we could watch CNN at night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at this idyllic boutique lodge. There was a lovely relaxed feel about the whole place. Our room in the Lodge was very comfortable and well equipped with patio doors leading directly to the garden overlooking the lake. The staff and management team were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinners were very good too. The only reason why we score the Lodge ‘4’ rather than ‘5’ were some areas where the service lacked precision and the poor WiFi. This hotel had the worst WiFi of any we stayed in during 3 weeks in NZ. We would definitely recommend the hotel if you are looking to treat yourself.

The Lodge is beautiful in a very simple way..the setting is the highlight here, although sitting in the light filled room in a soft chair, enjoying the roaring fire is not to be discounted either. Our guest rooms was well equipped, and we were quite comfortable..our stay included breakfast and dinner, both excellent. In the evening , prior to dinner, wine was served in the great room along with a small nibble to go along with it The staff was very helpful and quite nice.. I really enjoyed just gazing out the window to the unfolding scenery ...well worth a visit.

We bought the Great Walks package. In general was a good experience and was one of the highlights of our two week jaunt around South Island. The location in magnificent, set on the edge of Fjordland, and the building itself is well designed. The GM and staff were excellent, friendly and professional. The food was good and our hiking package was perfect and well organized. We paid the high season online rack rate, which in hind-site seems a little punchy. Would rate higher if we had been able to get a better rate. Expect poor internet connectivity. I would get a cabin room next time as the lodge rooms sound proofing could have been better.

Three nights at Fiordland Lodge was a great time to experience the service and food which were exceptional. Andy and Deni have a great relaxed but professional feel to the place. The dinners each night were amazing and they have a special cellar. All in all a great stay in an amazing location. Great tip to do a day with Trips and Tramps

There are a great many spectacular views in New Zealand. This hotel enjoys such a location. The vista from our room was spectacular. The décor of the lodge is over scale rustic. A huge welcoming fireplace is available for lounging after dinner. The dining room however is quite intimate. Dinner, breakfast and all services were excellent. There was a full double rainbow over the lake on our last day. Can't get more memorable than that.

We were invited to a small (12 people) wedding, held in the Fiordland Lodge Te Anau. It was easy to find, just a few minutes up the Milford Rd out of Te Anau. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, right down to (some) complementary beverages in the room fridge. The lodge itself is aimed toward the Overseas fishing fraternity. The fishing theme is visible in the foyer with books, photographs etc, but not intrusive. The meals were of a high quality and the service superb. Our Family wedding took place on the lawn with a backdrop of Lake Te Anau. The organizer of the wedding took some advice from the Manager as to Celebrants, photographers etc. The lodge is more suited to couples than children although the little ones are made welcome. I'd love to return there someday.

Fiordland Lodge is spectacular. Marvelous location. Amazing views. Great food. Lovely rooms. Outstanding service. It's a destination in itself. It's just great. I was thinking about staying longer, perhaps for several months! Wouldn't that be wonderful? We had such a great time here. The general manager is terrific. The chef is great too. The rooms look out at the lake and nearby Fiordland Park. The views are gobsmacking. Go here!

We were only here one night, but would happily have settled in for longer. The views of the lake and mountains are fabulous, the room was large and very comfortable and quiet and the food very good. The great room has a massive stone fireplace and the whole place is done with lots of rustic pine and other wood in keeping with its location. Andy, the general manager, was most welcoming and dinner and breakfast were both delicious. In each case, you have choices from the menu. Also was fun to chat with a French couple from Paris over before dinner drinks. I will say that the bathroom layout is a bit strange, particularly how the shower is situated, but there was plenty of hot water.
