For the price you pay you can expect it not to be perfect. When I had bites on my body from the bed I noticed at check-out I wouldn't be back again.
Pools and hot tub were cool .The bugs in the room were not. Managers we're almost rude.
Pro: 2 minutes walk from Myrtle Beach, many restaurant within walking distance, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, has mini fridge. Con: bad smell on stairway, slow check in, room looks very worn, carpet looks very old and worn,
It is right on the beach. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was adequately supplied, though I did not use the kitchen. The room was clean, but the motel is dated. Lots of noise from the room above mine, but I think that is hard to avoid. As a woman traveling alone, the parking lot felt a little exposed, but it was nice to have a room with 2 different keys (door knob and a separate key for the dead bolt) and the window in my room really isn't accessible from the outside which increases the security. Overall, it was fine for my needs of really just needing a place to sleep for one night.
Room never made up despite request for housekeeping. Lobby dirty.Trash in parking lot.No towel racks. Toliet paper holder not secured in wall. Old,worn carpeting. refrigerator and microwave dirty. Room windows dirty with fingerprints.Guests smoking on balcony.
Location is great the accommodations and service are not. Early check in isn’t available so the lobby was full of guests all trying to check in at the same time. Check in was next door, the office on site wasn’t open yet. It was slow, we were only given 1 key because they couldn’t find the other one. Needless to say the entire stay was spent with chairs against our door because, safety. We were charged a daily resort fee Later in the day after quick chat with orbitz customer service the fee was refunded. Pro tip don’t use the elevator. It’s filthy, crumbling. The side ocean view actually turned out to be a lovely parking garage view. To be fair you can see the ocean if you step outside said room and take a few steps down the hallway and peek around the side of the building. Bathroom was recently renovated and cleanish. Bedding in the first room was covered in cigarette burns I tried to just tune it out but the remote to the tv didn’t work and the call to the office for another one was unanswered. The second bedroom’s ceiling was peeling and bubbling paint. At least it was something to look at since I couldn’t see the ocean or watch tv. Last day there upon waking up we were greeted by cockroaches crawling up the bathroom sink. We check out early. The front desk wasn’t concerned with any of the issues with the room or correcting them. Aside from location the only person I would recommend staying here to is my ex, who I’ve been telling to go to hell for years.

It was very convenient close to the ocean but check in was at 4pm and didn't get to check in til after 7pm and it had a musty smell and room was still dirty. It would have been nicer if it was cleaned better.
Too much to type... but was dirty building was falling apart the pool was dirty as well as the room smelled tv was messed up and water bugs all over at night room service and front staff was rude Pool chairs were broke
Enjoyed having a small kitchenette and being on the beach is always nice
Bike week and it was LOUD! The room wasn’t bad considering I was there to sight see but the room had everything I needed. Close to the beach and convenient to everything
Bugs in the room. At least 3 cockroaches in the bathroom and by the fridge.
Lobby stays shut down. There was a note on the door to check in at the hotel next door. Our room was non smoking but I believe every room adjacent to us was smoking. Nice balcony facing the ocean, but you had to smell the cigarette smoke if you wanted to stay out there. The cable on the TV was of poor quality so every channel had static.
This will be our second home away from home. The experience, fun, and joy of the staff is outstanding and a testimony to the pleasure that was our stay. We look no further than Ocean Plaza. I am recommending Ocean Plaza to family and friends. I look forward to our next stay!!!!!
