Right off 102, a few miles south of Halifax airport. On a lovely Lake that you can swim in. Also has pool. Nice big rooms. Friendly staff. Nice dining facilities for breakfast and dinner. Great place for the money. No elevator, though.
We stayed here as it was close to the airport. Room was nice and the staff very kind and helpful.
First night in Halifax and this was conveniently located between downtown and the airport. Room 310 had a dribble of water pressure in the shower, took forever to rinse off. Called and staff at desk said we have been having trouble with that room. Sent someone up who was very nice and he said they just had a bus load come through and the washers must be the issue with the pressure. Told the staff at the desk in the morning and she said she would report it. They should not rent the room until it is fixed.Everyone we dealt with was very pleasant.
Our family - two parents, one grandparent, and two school age kids - needed a place close to the airport the last day of our vacation. The Inn was fine for that, especially given the free shuttle service. (It is still a 10-15 minute drive away.) But after two weeks at various other NS and PEI Inns, this one is fine, but not extraordinary. Rooms were clean, pool was a hit with the kids, and nice location on a lake. But you can hear the highway from the balcony and outdoor patio, you can hear other guests through wooden walls, and (at least in our section) no elevator, so elderly visitors or ones with disabilities might have trouble lugging suitcases up three flights of stairs. Our room with two double beds was standard; grandmother's king bedroom looked a bit nicer. Check-in clerk was cordial but not warm; the morning reception clerk was quite nice, making a special effort to give the kids juice while waiting for a 6:30am shuttle to the airport. Muffins in cellophane were also available for the early morning departure.
On 7/3 UNITED cancelled our flight due to severe weather conditions so we couldn't come and use our one-night reservation with this hotel. While the flight being delayed and later cancelled I was keeping the hotel front desk in the loop - by calling them on each update. So the hotel was aware we wouldn't be able to come and stay, and it was simply no way to make to Halifax that day after the only direct flight got cancelled. However the final cancellation notice came from UNITED 1 hour 40 minutes after 4 pm Halifax local time: per the hotel policies at 4 pm a reservation becomes non-refundable. Customer service of this website and myself felt that there was no fault from my side though, and asked for reimbursement. So Customer service representatives spoke to the hotel twice 7/3 and 7/4, but the supervisor / owner Susan N. refused to refund the amount I had paid - 152 USD.
This place is even better than it looks on the website. it is well-kept, and the staff is truly remarkable in their professionalism and courtesy. The prices are fair. There is a level of cleanliness and hospitality here that we have rarely experienced. Being about 15 minutes from the airport helps a lot, and it is centrally located such that anywhere but Cape Breton is only a few hours drive. We planned to stay one night and stayed three. We will certainly base our future travel plans around staying there again.
Convenient to the airport - 25 Min. outside Halifax - quiet - beautiful and outstanding restaurant both ambiance and exceptional food quality
Very courteous check in though it was late, excellent accomodations, convenient food/restaurant, a very good experience for the price
Very convenient to airport with lovely outdoor facilities. Lake view room was misleading with our primary view of a parking lot with a mere glimpse of lake.
Staff were very accommodating. We came in at a bit before midnight and the shuttle was able to pick us up at the airport. [...] the night clerk was extremely efficient and a joy to meet.Beds are very comfortable and double whirlpool was the most comfortable I have used yet.You definitely need a car to get around from this Inn but it is right off a major road.
This place is minutes from the airport, minutes from Halifax, moments from highways leading to amazing and beautiful drives. We were celebrating an anniversary and couldnt have found a better place to enjoy it. The guy in charge of dining services there, [...], gave us amazing suggestions for great dining and the staff gave us Google map directions for each place we wanted to go! They also upgraded our room when they found out it was our anniversary..at no extra charge!
