Nice hotel located outside city center. Surroundings are not so charming although the hotel itself presents a pleasant area with palm trees, outdoor as well as indoor pool. The hotel has a spa/gym which we didn't try. Indoor pool is nice but bring a swim cap, if you do not have one you can by it for 5 euros in the reception downstairs. Didn't try the restaurant but the bar was ok. Excellent service, staff is very helpful and english is not a problem here.
I only had a one night stay and wished I had planned for longer. Did some sight seeing and would have liked another full day and night to enjoy everything offered at the Hotel. The dinner buffet was really good and I am not usually a fan of dinner buffets. The grounds are beautiful and I had a chance to sit at the pool and could see the tennis court from where I was sitting. The rooms were nice. The staff helpful in recommending sight seeing tour. I would recommend this Hotel
We stayed at Evora Hotel for 1 night. We wanted to explore Evora and nearby Almendres Cromlech. We were transitioning from Lagos and were going to go to Porto next. The hotel is nice but it appears to cater to tour groups. It is a 5-minute drive from the old city. Breakfast was good, but again, full of tour group folks who are on a mission. We really enjoyed the pool area and spent many hours there. Unfortunately, the bar food and drinks were mediocre. If I did not have a rental car with me (free parking), I would have probably stayed within the old city.
The hotel offers comfortable rooms, an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool with an outdoor bar and lounge area, two restaurants and a bar. We were offered a typical Portuguese buffet dinner and breakfast was good for European standards, but not outstanding. Our 2nd floor balcony was facing the inner garden and pool which was nice, while rooms on the other side faces the parking lot. The hotel is a 5 minute car ride from the old city and there are big parking lots just outside the city walls. Note that hotels within the walls may not have parking available so this is a good option if you have a car. We would go there again.
The hotel is far from the city centre, however, there is a hop-on-off bus departing from the front of the hotel every full hour. The bus is reasonably priced and tours most of the interesting places in Evora. What I liked about the hotel was: - very good vegetarian buffet with the best vegetarian food I have seen in a hotel in Portugal; - wide choice of activities including SPA, tennis, golf, yoga, tai-chi, very good gim and many many more. Instructors are reasonable and prices are OK; - indoor and outdoor swimming pools offers fun no matter the weather; - very nice personnel which was also very helpful on all occasions; - every room has a small balcony; - check in was nice and fast. - very good coffee :) What I did not like about the hotel: - it is crowded - lots of people in and out all the time - breakfast was very simple - too simple as for the hotel that wants to be 4* - rooms are OK for 2 people but since we were 3, we hardly fit, there was no space left - balcony is nice, but when people smoke on it, not nice any more - I had trouble to communicate in English almost anywhere apart from reception Wifi was so so, but working most of the time.
It is a bit dated in the rooms but with comfortable beds, nice pool area that gets very crowed in peak times, it also has a nice health club with a good size interior heated pool. The hotel can work with a full broad regime with breakfast, dinner and lunch buffet style and drinks included (house wine, water and soft drinks). The food was good despite some poor executions of one or another dish, but overall the food quality is ok. Service was also always helpful during our stay. Overall a good hotel but lacking something to be a very good or excellent offering (maybe some renovations, more variation in the buffet food).
The hotel is not within walking distance from the city center and you will need a car or to use the city bus tour service to get there. The hotel itself is ok with a nice, but crowded, pool area and health club facilities. It also offers a full broad regime with drinks included in the meals. The food is regional and good although some of the dishes were lacking in its execution. Breakfast is not particularly vast in terms of food choices, but all the essentials where there including fresh fruit. Lunch and dinner work buffet style and had always the same cold salads, a meat and a fish hot dish that change every meal and soup. The deserts also change from meal to meal but fruit salad, rice pudim chocolate mousse and some regional desserts like (Sericaia and encharcada) are common in most of the meals. Overall we had a nice weekend off laying around in the pool and not having to worry with food preparation. An ok hotel.
This is a very large establishment located not that close to city center. I had selected because it has partings available. It is absolutely catering to many tour groups, be prepared to wait in line to check in if you arrived at the same time as some of the groups. Decent amenities but seemed dated and in need of a remodel. AC is rather weak and the cleaning staff is a bit absent minded. I think there are better offerings in this town, parking can be a drag when the hotel is fully booked.
We stayed a couple of nights in this property and it was quite pleasant. The rooms are ok for the price paid; cleaned and well-maintained. There is a very nice outdoor pool area, although it gets quite crowded because they allow access to people that are not hotel guests. I called in advance and was confirmed that the room would have a double bed. On arrival told that there were no more double bed rooms available. The receptionist that answered the phone when I called was still there, her name is Fatima Gomes, she was extremely rude and even confrontational at check-in; she lied to me when I called in advance and couldn't care less afterwards for even an apology or to show a bit of empathy... A person like her should never be dealing with customers whatsoever. Luckily, Mr. Nuno Ramalho was there to save the day, appeased and resolved the situation, that Ms. Gomes was only aggravating with her poor demeanor and insulting attitude. Overall the stay was ok, but customers should never have to deal with people like Ms. Gomes.
This hotel is a very large hotel which caters to a large number of tourist groups. With that being said, the checkin was fast and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable and did the job for our purposes. There was a buffet breakfast which was included which was fresh and tasty. The hotel is a bit far from the town centre but as long as you have a car, you should not have a problem.
