The room itself was okay. It was clean, but there was no air conditioning. I wasn't comfortable leaving the window open as anyone could have accessed my room. Had I known there was no A/C early eough, I would have purchased a fan. I was awake most of the night due to how hot it was in the room. The gentleman working the desk was very pleasant.

Room felt cramped, too much furniture. No air conditioning so no airflow in the room. We had to have the window open and the motel is on a busy street, so lots of noise. Beds were okay but not the most comfortable.

The owner was nice and says that they are undergoing renovations to improve the hotel and asked that I give them another chance in the future. This review is written in July 2017, so keep that in mind. Having said that, I would not recommend this hotel at all. It was greasy, dirty, slimy, noisy, bugs were in the bathroom, and the bedding was old, uncomfortable, and had cigarette burns. There was no AC, and the window screen had holes in it so we got eaten up by mosquitoes. The renovations would have to be nothing short of a miracle to make me stay here again.

The hotel served its purpose: we just needed it a place to sleep. However, with no A/C, there wasn't any way to get some air circulating in the room so it was very stuffed up. We opened the window here and there but didn't feel too safe to leave it opened all night. Bathroom was nice and spacious. Beds and pillows weren't very comfortable. Loved to have our own fridge and microwave in the room though.

The motel stay was just okay...good price. Close to all needed and the beach.

The carpets I wouldn't walk on without socks. They asked if I wanted linen service, I don't think it was included in the cost.

The place definitely was not a bad hotel. It was a little noisy due to it being downtown but overall it wasn't too hard to sleep. The few things I didn't like was it did not have a fan or an AC unit just a heater. As well breakfast didn't start till 7:30am and I was already on the road by then. Either than those 2 things it was overall a good stay.

I like this hotel as the front desk staff are pleasant, there is a free continental breakfast, the rooms are decent in size and cleanliness and especially it is a good value (i.e. low price) hotel.

Older hotel that has been kept up nice. Close to the Hwy so road noise is a issue. Morning breakfast left a lot to be desired. Was clean.

Great place? I would stay there again when visiting the Redwoods.

Quite, friendly staff, Room clean and stocked with ammenities. older hotel but would use again.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 days while dropping my kid off at HSU. It was "okay". I am usually one of those people that says who cares what the room is like. I just need a place to sleep at night. That being said, my only complaint was that the beds were uncomfortable. There was no spring left to the mattresses in either bed. What I did like is that the beds were in two different rooms. Yes the room smelled a little hempy but it wasn't so overwhelming that I felt we needed to stay somewhere else. The sign outside advertised free HBO however we didn't have it, but again we were only in our room at night. The location is about 15 mins from HSU, there are a few restaurants in the area within walking distance, including Dennys & Starbucks, there are a few bars within walking distance, the sheets, pillows and towels were all very clean smelling, which is a huge plus and somewhat comforting. The staff was nice and the officehas a free continental breakfast if you like that sort of thing. But those mattresses, I wouldn't mind staying there again if the mattresses were more comfortable.

Comfy bed and sheets, clean room. Friday and Saturday nights were good, however, Thursday night: parties/kids/cars/loud/smokers/traffic/police all night long! Don't understand why the other nights were quiet. Nice people at desk. Breakfast was watered down juices and muffins, croissants, cereal.

We were in Eureka to visit my father while he was in hospital. The hotel allowed us to relax after a very stressful day. Thank you

What a great value! The room had a refrigerator and a microwave. It was very clean and the staff was nice. The area wasn't bad, as it is right next to a Natural Foods store and in the middle of town. This was among the lowest priced hotels in the area and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the experience.

This hotel was cheap and offered muffins, coffee and juices for breakfast. Room was big, Had refridge and microwave and cable TV. The managers were nice, but they lived there. While we stayed there, we met a woman who was living there for 6 months with her husband and family while they sold oranges in roadside stands (they were from Arkansas and were harvesting and selling oranges in CA and needed a place to stay). Also it seemed teenagers lived there and came and went. It was 2 blocks from Old Town Eureka, but also 2 blocks from the homeless food kitchen. Not real clean, old, old, old linens and towels, caulking everywhere in the bathroom, and chipped furniture. We always locked the door while we were there, even during the day. Not worth the savings - stay at a more recognized name brand hotel.

my 2-night experience at this hotel is good. staff is very friendly. room is clean. location is also good. the only con is the traffic noise outside, and room itself is not quite sound proof (we can hear upstairs walking). but for the price, we do not expect it to be perfect.

The woman at the desk was nice... the room reeked of Clorox. The Bed was comfortable but we did not sleep well because the sheets did not fit well and the weird pad under them was dirty looking and did not fit the bed. I was afraid if I moved to much the sheet would come off. The towels were rough and dirty looking. The bath tub was really deep (nice) and had jets that had no way to turn them on? There was a little fridge on the floor w/ a microwave on top of it......

I have used America's Best before and this hotel is very outdated compared to all others I have seen. It may have to do w/the area being a small town and rural area. It was nice to have complementary juice and muffins. Towels were a little thin but they provided more when requested. The mattress was a little too firm. A ceiling fan would have been nice since there was no ventilaton w/o air conditioning. It did not really get hot due to climate. Staff were helpful when I had questions about the area or needed directions. Overall, I was satisfied w/my stay.

The room smelled so strong of chlorine that we had to leave the door and window open for a long time just to be in the room. The tub was so small a regular size person could not bath in it. It had jets but the drain plug would not keep the water in and had to keep refilling it. The beds had two sagging imprints in the bed before we ever tried it out. I did sleep well after the room aired out somewhat.
