Novotel Chartres

The hotel is located not far away from Chartres cathedral if using the car. The rooms is clean and renovated recently. However compared to other Novotel, its new design in washroom is a little bit too fancy and not very practical. I could hardly put my electrical teeth brusher on the counter and children had difficulties to use the shower. As a loyal member of Novotel, we were always offered the welcome complimentary drinks for the whole family whether in France, Germany, Switzerland or in China. Well this time, we had to pay the drinks ourselves. What made us even more unhappy was the reaction of its management team. It seems that they do not care about their clients. It is the worst Novotel we have visited. I will never come to this hotel in my life.

We will always compare hotels in Chartres with our favourite the Ibis at Luce where we have had many excellent stays. On the surface the Novotel is better in that the reception area is very bright and glossy and to be fair the welcome we got from reception staff was very good .The room was slightly larger than would have been the case at the Ibis and was clean and tidy when we arrived What let the hotel down was the dining area Again on the surface it was bright but the service was not all that one might have expected from a more up market hotel The menu was restricted and it achieved one success and that was to make Mc Donalds seem value for money My burger was tasteless and the chips were overcooked while the Caesar salad my wife had consisted of bacon which tasted of fish, chicken which was so thinly sliced it was tasteless and a bucketful of cabbage like lettuce covered in a weak mayonnaise based sauce This was very pricey for what we got . In brief the accommodation was fine but eat elsewhere !!

We booked this by chance and are absolutely delighted with the location, staff, room and , restaurant. It is fresh, clean and modern, staff very helpful and cheerful and a fantastic buffet breakfast. We ate in the dining room for dinner on our first night and it was great too. We explored the old part of town, the Cathedral, shops and had lunch at la Picoterie Well worth a visit in the beautiful Loire valley

Nice hotel easy to find. The restaurant offered two menus, The Chasse menu was a different offering meat from local producers, pheasant, deer, boar and partridge. We found no flavour in both our meals and basic presentation and the price was too high. The ambiance was pleasant enough. The bedroom was clean, bed comfortable, but the pillows were all far too soft. Suggestion that 2 firm and 2 soft be provided so the customer can choose which is most suitable.

I arrived at this hotel around 2 am exhausted, the reception employee could see that and offered me an expresso.. The staff was wonderful, professional, caring . The room immaculate and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is REALLY worth it with smoked salmon, eggs, meats, yogurt, cereals and much more. it was really a very nice experience . I would advise anybody to stay there.

I stayed in this special hotel in september (9 days) and October (8 days) and it was very nice. All the people are very polite and help you in everything you need! The food is very good and you are a few minutes of the downtown! I really recomend!

I've stayed in this hotel twice because the company where I Was workig Was very close. It is ok enough to stay 5 days, no more then it and considering that you must have a lot of work to do during the day until sleep because there is nothing to do or other places behind it. The staff is kind but very, very limited to speak English, even in the restautant where there is one guy who speaks a little bit. The air conditioner was not working, I needed turn it on because inside the apartment was very hot, even during the winter. There is good menu in the restaurant and the breakfast is pretty good, a lot of types of bread and fruits. In the nest time I intend to rent a car to go around for relaxing after working.

A typical Novotel hotel. Clean, tidy with all the facilities expected. Decent restaurant with good food and bar. Drinks especially expensive, however, it probably is just about worth the cost. Breakfast is too expensive for what you get.

Stayed 1 night 11/9 on our way back. Good selection of food including a fish menu. Good wine. Attentive staff. Room layout as expected. Would recommend this hotel for both stopover & longer stay. Terasse great for both dinner & breakfast.

The breakfast at the hotel was pretty good lots of choices which was nice. The beds were a little bit on the hard side and a little small but they were ok. The room was a good size and bathroom was nice. Although I couldn't work out how to have a hot shower maybe that's just me though! Toilet is separate from the bathroom which was different and there was two doors to get in to the bedroom. Overall not bad!
