Very near the motorway access, and wirth ample secure parking (there's a massive gate - we didn't bother taking the bikes off the car rack and they were still there in the morning). Rooms have been renovated and are nicely appointed, in the usual Novotel style. Good breakfast and last orders in the restaurant is 23:00 which is nice too. Outdoor pool is a nice touch in summer.
Stayed here on business, it’s set on the side of a busy road so it’s more like a service station hotel. Inside is so so, rooms are clean enough. Beds are hard and pillows are a bit awkward. The air conditioning in the room only works to a group setting so at the moment it’s on a heat setting even though it’s still warm so I have to sleep with the window open with noisy traffic. Food is average so I’d stay here again for convenience as it’s not bad but it’s not great either.
Room was nice. I was told AC was shut off because it was cold at the beginning of Sept.?????? I had no air circulation in a stuffy room except to open window on ground floor with no screen. Restaurant seating and serving inconsistent with customers sitting down after us getting their food before our order was even taken. Many customers left with food on the table of when finished shaking their head mumbling in disgust. Waiter seemed to intentionally ignore us. We had three other servers come by our table in the hour and a half it took to get food and finish. It wasn't an enjoyable meal.
This was a one night stay enroute to Italy. It was fine just as should be expected from a Novotel. The room was fine, staff friendly and served the purpose well. It is quite a bit out of town and slightly tricky to find but otherwise good.
As with most Novotels .... It does what it says on the tin! Easy to find and most importantly there us plenty of on site parking. Close to town. Bed was extremely comfortable. Staff friendly and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant at night that stays open quite late. The good was beautiful. Also a good choice of wines Would highly recommend this hotel
As a family of four we booked a large room with extra sofa bed for the kids. On check in we were told that the bed wasn't pulled out but we could pull it out and it would be ready made. When we pulled out the bed there were no pillows for the children. We asked reception at 9pm for 2 pillows for the children and were told no. On arguing we were told basically there are no spare pillows, tough get on with it, my partner rang the Novotel head office to complain and after a lot of phone calls and mucking about my family are staying in an overpriced hotel room with not enough pillows and no satisfactory explanation why a MAJOR hotel chain doesn't have enough pillows for its guests. And on questioning the staff were excessively RUDE!!!!!!
On our annual journey to SW France we always stay at this comfortable hotel with a good restaurant, comfortable beds and rooms, excellent breakfast. Reasonably secure free parking and nearby eateries give some good choices.
We stayed in the Novotel last night. Clean place with a good breakfast in a quiet area. We wanted secure parking and this was difficult to find elsewhere in the town. We were particularly impressed with the woman in reception - told us where to eat and what to see in Chartres especially noting the son et lumiere. She also lent me a charger for my iPhone.
We stayed at Novotel Le Mans on route to our holiday and it was great from the welcome staff to the large and clean family room to the very nice dinner and breakfast. What a contrast staying at the Novotel Chartres on route home. The man in front had a very nice welcome and handed info about where to go and what to do. All I got told was there was a sofa bed in our room for our 4 year old grandson which we had to open ourselves. We got to our room and suffice to say my husband had to go and get a toilet roll as there was hardly any in the room. There were black hairs on the floor in the toilet and bathroom as well as on the sofa bed bedding. Had dinner in the restaurant ordered ham and cheese omelettes but they both arrived without ham. Told the waitress who delivered the order as well as waiter who took the order. The waitress swapped mine with my husband's but neither were correct. The waiter gave us both a slice of ham to put in the omelettes ourselves. Waited a very long time for puddings. Not impressed.
Just returned to the UK from southern France and stayed at the Novotel in Chartres for one night. Very good hotel, which I assume had recently been refurbished as it was certainly of a higher standard than the Novotel in Orleans where we stayed on our way out. Room was excellent and the staff very friendly.
