Beautiful and great pool
Mattresses were horrible, bed creaking with every move. Sheets for the pullout seemed dirty, desk staff and waitstaff took forever.
The restaurant was nice. Great beer on tap for a nightcap. Cafe at check in nice as well. Restaurant was very expensive and understaffed.

The room was in mediocre condition with outdated fixtures and fittings. Service was unacceptable from the front desk. The gentleman at the front desk was doing what he could, but it was clear the hotel was very short-staffed. There was no bellman available when we we checking out, and I had to do all of it by myself. The one bright spot was the dining room; our food for a dinner and a breakfast was very good. The hotel needs to take a long look at itself and consider how it plans to remain competitive in the market.
Very clean and friendly staff. Please read the fine print, we paid an additional $72 in fees for 2 days. Additionally they had a flyer advertising live music in the Atrium, we went and were promptly removed by the staff indicating it was only for restaurant patrons with reservations, BUT this was not on the flyer.....did not feel welcome....

Food at restaurant was mediocre. Service at front desk was inefficient and slow. Glasses from other guests not picked up in a timely fashion. With very few exceptions staff were not service orientated.
The Essex is an entity in itself, offering outdoor activities, a spa as well as facilities such as two restaurants. Suitable for families and couples, it’s location is close enough to Burlington while still offering the peace & quiet of the countryside. Our room was large and comfortable.
At the tavern they need to service people better There always in the back Waited to be serviced a glass of wine. No one at the bar Seated my self for breakfast no one there where a serviced walked by I had to ask him to take my order
It is a decent place for the price. There is nothing luxurious about it but no major complaints either. It is located perfectly for things to do in Burlington area.
The room was very clean and well thought out. Unfortunately the property is showing its age. Wallpaper peeling in a few places, drywall joints cracked and several of the lights did not work. On the positive side, the pool was very nice and the food was fantastic in the Tavern.
