Overall this was a great room for a one night stay before an early start and flight at London Stansted. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean and overall hotel great. However, the heating in the room did not work. We asked at reception and a member of staff came straight away who couldn't figure out why it wasn't working and said to wait an extra 10 minutes. The heating still did not work and was only blowing out cold air. The light in the shower was also broken so it was quite dark when showering. Overall good hotel and an ideal location for the airport.
Stayed here prior to an early flight from Stanstead. Room typical for this type of hotel but not as good as Premier Inn... where we usually stay but was far more expensive. The main flaw was we were on the ground floor near reception, but also opposite the kitchen, which was very noisy. Bearing in mind we had to get up early next day this was not good. I complained to reception next morning and was told “we were busy last night”.... that was as good an apology that I got. I think that if we were in a different room our experience would have been completely different. I would probably book this hotel again if the price was right but avoid rooms near or above the kitchen like the plague.
Back in October 2017 I stay here with my aunt for two nights never again... Where do I even begin. First thing this hotel is no where near Stansted airport you will have to get a taxi which will cost you £15 each way. They don't have a shuttle bus which is a joke to be honest. After checking in to my room was about to take a shower I discovered the bathtowel in the bathroom was dirty... Then after a long day and realising that there was no restaurants near this hotel I was left with no option but to have dinner here which was a disaster. There was a woman working there who claims to be from Ireland Galway I am Irish myself and know Galway very well so I was talking to her about a B&B I stay thier near Earls square which is the main square of Galway but she claim to have no idea where Earls square was. That's like saying you're from London but you don't know where the Tower of London is.... To top it all off she proceeded to tell us about her personal problems and issues she just wouldn't leave us alone.. I wouldn't stay in this hotel again under any circumstance....
We stayed here before a morning flight from Stansted airport. Easy to find, with comfortable and clean rooms. Anne on the bar/Reception was extremely friendly and accommodating. Treat yourself to a pizza in the restaurant!
Stayed here to catch early morning flight from the airport. Staff very polite and helpful. The room was quiet and the bed very clean and comfortable. Handy location next to services so if you don't want to eat in the restaurant there are plenty of options to buy food. Good value all round.
Booked as part of deal with long stay parking. Arrival at hotel OK and prompt. Very pleasant chap booking us in. Our first room was 223. I didn't even bother to take my coat off the room smelt damp and musty. The source appeared to be the dirtiest shower ever which had mould everywhere. We asked to change rooms and went to 224 across the corridor. Better, but not good. Cleaner but the bathroom was still grim, institutional is a good word. All OK though until 1.13am when we were woken by an alarm which turned out to be coming from the air con unit. Rang down to reception who didn't surprised. We were told it wasn't possible to move us as the hotel was full and to ring down again if it hadn't turned off after 10 minutes. Not the sort of thing you want to hear when you have to get up for a flight at 5am. Alarm switched off after 7 minutes but it was very hard to get back to sleep knowing that we had an early start. When we checked out we asked for a refund and filled in the details on the form. Was asked for bank details which I declined to give as I had booked by credit card via APH. Two weeks later still waiting for refund as APH and the hotel play email ping pong as to who will refund me and how. Avoid, you'd get more sleep in the departure lounge.
Don’t stay here unless you get a very cheap deal. I had thought Ramada had a reasonable reputation and now I know they’ve gone very downhill. Bathroom was spattered with paint. Room had hideous aggressively coloured ‘art’ for headboard. Room was freezing and air con took ages to respond. Ground floor bedroom was only a few short yards from busy public walkway into services. Breakfast was nice but overall stay was very poor value.
We booked through holidayexpress.com as an overnight before our flight from Stansted with the impression there was a free shuttle to the airport the next day. It was late when we checked in, we were tired and when we asked the recotionist the bus time table she said there is no bus you can use the phone to book a taxi, £15 each way. As you can imagine we weren’t happy as the website had said long stay parking included with free shuttle. She said nothing she could do, it’s misleading information. We asked to see the manager to make a complaint and he advised us that it is long stay at the airport so we had to drive there and get the airport shuttle bus when we got to long stay. Once this was explained it made sense but it wasn’t very clear when we booked. The room was adequate, as we stayed as a family the children had to share a sofa bed which bowed up at the foot of the bed and left no room to walk round to the double bed. It was fine though for one night. The shuttle bus to the airport from long stay runs every 15 minutes and was easy and quiet but the journey back was horrendous! The bus was almost overflowing with a very unenthusiastic driver who obviously did not want to be there, calling out all the stops along the route to which someone thought it was funny to press the bell for every stop! (Admittedly nothing the driver could do about that, but it added to the annoyance of the journey).
Second stay here, can’t really fault it for the price we paid. Friendly welcome. Easy quick drive to the airport. Were asked what hotel level we wanted to stay on which was a nice touch. Plenty of choice for dinner in the service station and a drive in Starbucks.
As probably most visitors are, we stayed one night before a flight from Stansted the following day. Excellent welcome, staff very very helpful and friendly. Room OK for the price, but soap/shampoo in the shower was empty. Duvet a little thin and basic, but otherwise room was fine, and really appreciated the free (and pretty fast) internet. Breakfast was not great. Sausages were completely tasteless and a horrible consistency. Hash browns really dry (obviously pre-made frozen variety). Not to be recommended, but again really helpful and lovely staff.
