The staff was very courteous, and the room was comfortable - the view was very nice. There was plenty of parking, which can sometimes be an issue. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, canned fruits, baked good purchased from a store, only one kind of bread and lukewarm coffee. The hotel and room did have an overwhelming lemony chemical smell that I found very unpleasant.
Facilities listed on this hotel's site are very misleading, for instance the picture of 3 jacuzzis for guest use, they do not exist, there are no communal jacuzzis. It should also be noted that the room safes are very small, you can't fit a tablet or small notebook in them. These safes don't work on a code but a key instead, a master key is also in existence for all safes. There are also no tea facility in the rooms (also promised on booking sites) and you will be asked to upgrade to a junior suite to get a kettle! There are also no locks on the room windows and you are expected to make do with four hangers. When I asked for more hangers and if there were any rooms with locking windows, the receptionist told me my windows were fine and then stated she didn't speak english. For the rest of my week's stay the receptionists then refused to speak english to me, so no booking taxis, no organising excursions and no checking charges to your room, can you imagine taking money from a customer and then refusing to give them any information!!!!! This refusal to speak english also led to food being delivered to my room and the waiter barging into my room rather than waiting to be asked to come in, very bizarre behaviour. The food was delivered to rooms as the dining hall/cafe was too cold to eat in. This hotel has no public transport links and is on a very steep hill so be warned that if you are ill or infirm you will need a car to get to and from the hotel. There are also no lifts in the hotel, with all rooms only accessible by 2 flights of stairs.
The rooms are large, the hotel was beautifully decorated for the Xmas season, lots of lights. The breakfast is typically south style Limited but the view from the breakfast room is fantastic as the hotel is situated on the hill - the Naples and the see looks wonderful from there!
Stayed here one night with my friend while visiting Mount Vesuvius. Room had nice view of hilltop homes and water, was very quiet and restful/peaceful. Hotel had nice cafe/restaurant on premises that we had cappuccino at. Grounds were nice with patio seating and beautiful flowers/shrubs. There is a shuttle service that hotel has that works like a taxi....you have to pay. Hotel held/watched our luggage most of next day for free.
Room was comfy and big. The hotel is nice and clean. Staff are very nice and helpful and speak good English. Breakfast is a bit poor and dinner was ok but over priced. The biggest problem of this hotel is it's location. It is totally isolated but if you have a car it is ok. You can drive 20 min to Portici town and take a train to Naples or drive to the volcano and so on. Be aware that there almost no restaurants in the hotel area.
A great stay if you intend to traverse Mt Vesuvius. The hotel is quite a resort. The staff are both helpful and friendly. The breakfast was exceptional. Access to this resort would have to be either self drive (private carpark) or by Uber/taxi. The views are breathtaking.
First of all, I have to say that Andris Hotel saved our mood from otherwise disappointing day trip to Pompei. It was an impromptu stay at this hotel since we missed last possible tour of the day to go see Mount Vesuvius. The room was good and sufficient for our needs. However, what really nicely surprised us was the modern lounge and the pool area that is on the property. It is very sleek and modern, and totally unexpected when you consider the rest of Ercolano.
This hotel is, in a word, wonderful. The twisting, narrow road that leads you up to it doesn't instill you with confidence. However, once you pull up, you are struck by how clean and attractive the hotel is. There is a fantastic view of the sea, the rooms are spacious and the the staff is very friendly. We would stay there again.
This was a nice hotel with a nice view. A little hesitant at first due to being right on Vesuvius. That said it was pretty good. In good shape and spectacular views. Location a bit far from anything touristy except Pompeii. Only thing I thought was unfair is they charge extra to use the pool.
On arrival, via a rather shabby road full of potholes and discarded rubbish, we thought we'd come to stay at a very plush boutique hotel, potentially a hidden gem. Nice looking communal furniture, new looking bar area, nice looking pool, great views across Naples Bay, a very nice patio area in front of the very large rooms. So far so good. The disappointing aspect was the very third rate nature of the breakfast - very cheap cheese and ham, no hot food, no hot chocolate unless paid for, €4, and the poor knowledge of the local area by the reception staff. You are also stuck in the middle of nowhere (not secluded though) with nothing of any interest to walk to, no bars or restaurants close by (except their own), so a car is absolutely essential. Be aware also that there is a charge for using the pool (€15 to €20 per person per day) if that's what you want to do for a day, though we were told free for guests after 5pm, but it does shut at 6.30pm. There was free Wifi, but it was only effective from the patio, and not inside the room. Equally disappointing was Ercolano (the town) itself (about 5 or 6kms down the hill), which is a scruffy down beat place with no heart / defined centre, which I though was a real pity considering the fabulous tourist sights that surround the area.
