Red Lion Hotel and Casino Elko

Nice hotel: good food in the buffet, comfortable and clean rooms. Recommend everyone to stay in.

We were certainly pleased in choosing the Red Lion in Elko. The room was very spacious and clean. While our room faced the street, there was not much noise. We also ate at the hotel's restaurant and had good food. We liked the option of having a choice between the regular menu and the buffet as we have one of each between my wife and I. If passing thru here again, I would choose this hotel.

One of the places in Elko, Nevada. Has a nostalgic feel as an older hotel but, it could use a refresh (restore it to its original look, furnishings, and style - you'll have a real gem).

I like the property due to good wifi access and the bedding is nice and comfortable. Rate is better if you buy on Orbitz versus walk up rate. I saw no real faults with the place. The staff is not exactly the the friendliest, but I understand it from the standpoint of the mix of clientele which is always colorful in these gaming-mining towns. People get hardened. after I checked walk up rate, I went ahead and booked on my iphone through Orbitz and got a confirmation right away, but they would not let me check in becuase it had not come through on their system yet and she said it would be at least 15 minutes, so I had to walk around the Casino and kill time. Would have been nice to get in room soon as I had been driving over 12 hours from Cheyenne and it was late. But thats ok. I understand rules that staff must observe.

This hotel sounded very nice and rather fancy. My overall impression of the hotel is that it is rather dated, and very crowded. It is a dog friendly hotel, so that is a plus for a lot of travelers. It is a casino, also, so there was an unsavory element that might not be appropriate for families. We thought we would be able to play in the pool; however, the pool was very small and very crowded. The Starbucks in the casino closed at 8 pm which seemed rather early. This was an okay place to stay; our room was clean and I really liked the soaps and shampoos they offer.

This hotel is like a 1/2 mile long... if you are in a vehicle with a trailer or any type of oversize vehicle you have to park far away and there isn't any type of shuttle service. May be fine for some but I have bad knees and I swear I walked a mile just to go from my truck to registration to my room and back to my truck. Plus it was raining! Other than that I guess it's a pretty decent place.

Halfway to Yellowstone..clean room with meals that were OK at the Casino

We had booked another hotel and found that it was not acceptable. Finding your hotel and Casino was a very fortunate find. We had a great rest and enjoyed your casino.

ended up with bug bites all over my body. nasty, dirty! hotel really needs to do something about this. health issues. don't stay here if you don't want the same.

For such a small town, all of the hotels were overpriced, but the Red Lion was in line with the others. The room was clean, well maintained and even though my room faced the street, it was quiet.

Pleasantly surprised. Elko is a cool town. Many nice places to eat. The Red Lion is easy on easy off. The room was spacious and QUIET. Thank you.

We expected more from a 4 star hotel! We only stayed one night with a late check in and left early in the morning so didn't have time to check the amenities!!! Dined at the Cafe' and food was terrible. The hotel or at least the side of the premise we were in needs to be updated.

We needed a place to stay halfway between where we were and where we were going. The Red Lion fit the bill. I do not drink and I do not gamble so I cannot comment on what they have to offer in these departments. Looking at the sad faces as we walked through the casino I think that many of the people there wished they did not drink or gamble. Pros: - Clean, quiet rooms which provided a good night’s sleep. - The do have non-smoking rooms. - They have a good restaurant attached (Aspens). Cons: - Although they have non-smoking rooms some of them are on the same floor as smoking rooms. So, you end up smelling smoke. Your clothes end up smelling like smoke. That is why I give this place only three stars.

Had to make a last minute trip to Elko and the Red Lion it was awesome! Cleanest rooms and hotel ever. The customer service reps at front desks always make you feel so special. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Great value for a casino hotel. Was quieter than I expected.

This was a good stop while driving cross country. The rooms appear to have been recently updated, comfortable beds, very quiet, clean with friendly staff. My one complaint, the pervasive smell of cigarette smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room.

A pleasant surprise!! This was our overnight in Elko, NV and RLI made it perfect. Easy parking, check-in and access to our room. Everything in the room was in place for ready for us....no need to return to the front desk for additional amenities! Our room was clean and quiet. The same is said on our return trip. We made it a point to stop in Elko and enjoy the services of the RLI.....and the Casino, of course. Sam Gillespie

When I walked into the guest registration (within a casino) and experienced the smell, I was nervous and asked for a room as far from the casino as possible so as not to experience the intense smoke and spilled alcohol smell. I was assured the buildings were separate and I wouldn't. But instead, the room had an overwhelming smell pretty much the same as the casino. It also wasn't clean--wet spot on the carpet below the sink, and large rug stains, heavy stains on the windows and heavy dirt in the window tracks. tough to breathe and pretty nasty.

Great price for location, amenities, easy use, etc. Easy check in and out, great bar at Aspen, room was clean but still smells like smoke, like most casinos.

very disappointed with location of room, it was at the far end of the facility. casino was nice but nothing special. the staff were just great, very helpful and professional.

Thank you Louise for your review. We are a busy place! We have 3 properties and you would be welcome on your next stay to take your room key to the Gold Country or the High Desert Inn (indoor pool) to swim as a guest of the Red Lion. Again, thanks for staying with us!
