This parador is in a beautiful old building about 500 metres from the centre of Santo Domingo which is a very comfortable small town with a beautiful old section and pleasant newer additions in the middle of la Rioja with good food and amazing wine. You can't eat or drink in the parador but it's a very short walk to many places you can, including the other parador - and parking is much easier. No reason not to choose it and enjoy both.
