Location is great, u can walk to the town in few minutes, restaurants nearby as well if you wanna go somewhere else different. Overlooking the water so great to look at every morning! Great photos really on this resort, when you get there, it looks like a different place - its not as good as the photos BUT still good to stay. Nice and lovely staffs there. They have great BBQ but take note of the days and time as it wasn't on the menu !! You think its avail but its not... Anyhow, food is great here, can't find any flaw in it!
Set right on the water, Gorgeous views, friendly staff, nice food. Room is basic and small but clean. The security safe was not bolted into anything so no good for locking valuables. Easy walk into town and along the waterfront to restaurants.
Rooms were clean and mosquito proof, the waterfront location is beautiful, the staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and have a great stay. The free wifi (available in the dining area and at reception) could be improved - we found it quite slow and it only worked if you sat at the right table.
A top little hotel to transit or spend a couple of days in before discovering the rest of Vanuatu. Clean and conveniently located near the airport. Awesome place to meet some friends for a drink whilst getting friendly service. Thanks Hiro!
We had a great week at mooring hotels, the view is amazing, everynight there is a beautiful sunset. The staff is so kind, special mention to Jonathan he was so nice. And the restaurant is very good, quick and delicious. Thanks a lot. Very good hotels !! Super semaine au mooring hôtels, l équipe est formidable, le restaurant délicieux, tout est propre bien entretenu, un rapport qualité prix exceptionnel. Merci pour tout
We booked last minute and was pleasantly surprised by Moorings Hotel. Don't be fooled by the entry. We were greeted by a trainee, who was trying hard but direction to the room would have been helpful. We went to the bar for our refreshing complimentary lime juice and asked directions from here. The staff were always pleasant and happy. Priscilla on the front desk was excellent in her service. Nothing was too hard. Eamon and other restaurant staff were outstanding and friendly, offering lots of local information. Rooms are clean and tidy and cleaning staff were nice and agreeable. We were in room 406, which was not near the pool. On Friday and Saturday night the noise/music from neighbouring bar was very loud and went through to 12pm. Not that late but when you are getting up early for trips it is annoying. I don’t know how the other side would go as the Banyan Bar is on that side. I would suggest a poolside room as they would be sheltered from noise from neighbours. Pool was clean and Movie night was great. Restaurant food was nice and didn’t get “Bali belly” from Moorings only at Iririki Island on a day trip. Location: Moorings has the best location, only a short walk into Port Vila. On the main road so local transport is easy to hail down. You can go snorkelling or swimming right from the front. With other hotels there was no water access. It is only three stars so don’t expect bags taken to rooms and there is two storey sections. Continental Breakfast was included and had pancakes included plenty of food provided.
This is a great hotel with clean and tidy rooms. A beautiful pool overlooking the beach. Breakfast is included and has a good selection. Friendly and helpful staff. We are going to stay here again on our way home.
Our stay at moorings is one of mixed feelings. The poolside room 204 was basic but clean and well laid out. We were quite content with the location, breakfast and the room for the price until we ran into problems due to poor maintenance. We came back one day to our room and the air conditioner had leaked all one side of the bed and some of our things. They moved us to another room 201 which was a better room and we settled in and were happy. A day or two later they fixed the air con in 204 (the old room )and told us we had to move back. Reception were legitimately oblivious to why this was inconvenient and frustrating on a holiday. We were told they were fully booked and as such had to move back. We started to move back to discover the air con still did not work and then were told to stay in 201 for now. When the air con had been properly fixed we were told and started to move back to 204. After moving 3/4 of our stuff back to 204 we were told the big boss said it was okay to stay in 201. I was so frustrated it ruined my day. We were put through so much inconvenience just because they didn’t want us in a better room. Throughout the duration of our stay many of these similar rooms were unoccupied so it was a lie all along. They couldn’t contact the big boss to consult regarding issues and he did not offer any apology. This same problem happened to the gentleman across from us and several rooms including ours had issues with toilets and plumbing. The restaurant staff were amazing and all meals had were delicious. The movie night was really fun and well enjoyed. Overall the hotel would have been great value but reception and management let it down and it appears that issues with the air con leaking and toilets were not isolated incidents.
My weekend here began with an early checkin. The reception staff was helpful and friendly, and more than willing to let me check in a few hours early. The room was clean and tidy, with a reasonably new A/C unit which works well. Though some bits and pieces are showing their age, the room also shows signs of efforts to keep it up to date. The closet situation was a little unusual, but worked OK. The bed was fantastic, the TV worked well, and the bathroom was as good as I hoped. The only minor issue in the shower being a slightly loose shower head. The view out the sliding door across the harbour is stunning, and well worth the walk down the open outdoor walkways. When the rain starts though, it can be a challenge figuring out how to get from the room to the restaurant without getting drenched. A couple of small details would really bring the room to a new level: no seat of any kind means sitting on the bed to put shoes on; and no inside table or desk means that one either drags the outdoor set inside, or has to do work on the verandah. The buffet breakfast is simple but delicious. I would come back.
Jonathan and the rest of the staff were all extremely friendly! They were happy for me to leave my luggage in their storeroom the night before I took my room (I was taking an overnight trip to Tanna). The voucher for a welcome drink (a delicious fresh lime juice) was a nice touch. The location was ideal, within walking distance of the town centre and overlooking the bay. The breakfast included in the room rate was simple but perfectly adequate, and the dinner menu offered plenty of variety to eat there for the 3 nights of my stay. The room had everything I needed, including a good shower, comfy bed and air conditioning. The pool was excellent. Thanks for a perfect stay!
