The front staff were friendly. The rooms were okay. No issues at all. Sure it may seem a little older but it was perfect for us. We needed a place to sleep and shower and it was great. There was a fridge and microwave in the room which was convenient. I found the location to be awesome as well.
Our weekend trip from Calgary could not get any better. Sales and front desk staff were wonderful! We got to take our little one to the water park and we all had a blast. Thanks Alyson for the help!!! Room was very confortable and clean. We recommend this hotel for anybody who is going through Edmonton. We will definitely come back!!!
We spent two nights here last week after a trip to Cuba and were very impressed with this hotel. Reception desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were basic but very clean and just what we needed. The hotel is a 5 - 10 minute drive to the West Edmonton Mall....which was the most important thing to our kids. The complimentary breakfast was great and included waffles, cereals, hard boiled eggs, fruit, pastries, toast and bagels. The only downside for myself was the lack of gluten free breakfast options, however that is to be expected. Additionally, Smitty's restaurant is joined to the hotel for convenient dining options. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. We plan on staying here the next time we come to Edmonton.
My family and I stayed here for one night. Our room was clean and decent but the pool was absolutely nasty! We picked this hotel because it was in the middle of the two places we wanted to visit and because it had a pool, hot tub and water slide. The pool was very grungy and dirty and defiantly needs a deep cleaning. Other than the pool it was decent for one night. Beds were comfy enough and room was clean.
I really like the location and hotel's friendly staff :-) We always stay there on our trips to Edmonton. It's very close to shopping, good dining and entertainment. I would higly recommend it to everybody!
Never any surprises, rooms always clean. Can be a issue with children and noise on main floor, but that can be escaped by being on floors above main. Had issue once with a unacceptable rough shape/condition room, but this was acknowledged and we were moved and upgraded to our satisfaction.
The improvements since the last time we stayed are new mattress, bedspreads and cabinetry for fridge/microwave and air conditioners. The things that still need to be improved are the plug-ins (still not replace so that when you plug something in it actually stayed in place, light on desk should have a electric outlet because there are not enough near the microwave/fridge area or all plug-ins used by the appliances), new bath tubs because these still old cigs stains on them and finally that atrocious hallway carpeting. It is like walking on water and you can see how bad they are because at the end of the hallway is a window and you can see all the ripples in the carpet and it smells. It does not help that my hubbie always wants the smoking floor but they should find a way to get rid of the smoke smell. At least my husband smokes in the bathroom with the fan on since I don't smoke.
Stayed here last year and we were satisfied so we decided to stay again on our way through this year. The rooms are clean and comfortable (even the pet friendly rooms) which are sometimes in rougher shape then the regular rooms. The room had all the amenities you would want. Plus there are restaurants, gas stations and shopping all handy to this motel as well.
Once we had navigated Edmonton West's one way system, check in was slightly tortuous as initially our bookings couldn't be found. Rooms were large enough and comfortably furnished. Bathroom fine. Slightly impersonal as we had no interchange with staff until check out. Breakfast is supplied at the separate Smittys restaurant which was not impressive and didn't represent good value although the Travelodge did.
Easy to find, easy to park, clean, close to The Mall, Superstore, restaurants and gas stations. Our check in was fast and easy, and travelling with kids, we got the room closest to indoor water park. Although, later I've seen a crowd in a lobby with only one associate left to help them all. Beds were ok, room was clean, fridge and TV working well. Wi Fi signal was weak and unstable in the room (closest to the lobby). Bathtub was old, shabby and way too shallow, but no problem with a shower. My personal problem was lack of clean air/oxygen. With 4 people in the fairly small locked room I didn't sleep well (ground floor windows are always locked, a/c was quiet for the most of the cool night, but I'm not sure it could help with oxygen anyway).
