I am very torn on how to review our apartment because we did have an amazing time in Edinburgh. First off the positives, perfect location right in the heart of the Royal Mile just below the castle which is an easy walk. You are in the heart of beautiful Edinburgh. Everything you need is in walking distance and the company that handles the apartments are easy to reach and extremely helpful when something was needed. We had 3 families in our group, 2 of the families (7of us) rented an apartment and the other family of 4 rented another apartment. Our apartment for 7 had 3 bedrooms but it was REALLY small, too small for that many people. The showers were not great and the washer and dryer did not work, although the co. will do your laundry for you and return the same day so that did not matter when all said and done. However, the apartment the family of 4 rented was wonderful and large and overlooked a beautiful courtyard. So my biggest suggestion is to see a picture of the apartment where you will actually be staying because that would have made a difference in our case. The pictures we saw online when we booked were not of the apartment we ended up getting.
We have booked a 3 bedsrooms apartment and our apartment was located just right in front of The Hub at Royal Mile and High Street . It was so convenient and everything is just walking distance. The apartment was well equip with full kitchenette. Our flight was late night arrival flight even there is no 24 hours reception hotel have a well arrangement for ourself key collection. The only thing regrets was the meet and transfer that apartment arrange for us was no communicate probably so we have to wait at the airport for 30min. And next time should give us the driver contact number so we no need to call the call center and checking. Overall was good
The people who checked us in we're very helpful but it was a Very old building we had to drag suitcases up 60 stairs. It was clean but a bit tired. Very central great location. Bathroom was a good size. Had to keep our suitcases in the main room as no room in the bedroom. The pillows were far too thin
Excellent apartment based on the High Street consisting of a vestibule, double bedroom at the back (so quiet) with a kitchen / dining area and a sitting room both overlooking the High Street - which was great when the Edinburgh Fringe was on as we could watch the street acts from the luxury of the apartment. The booking office was in the basement so easy checking in / Out and staff very friendly & helpful. We did have an issue with being allocated a different apartment when we arrived but this was quickly sorted out. ideal central location for the Festival & Fringe.
Cannot fault the location, and in an apartment designed for big groups we had plenty of room to move in all the living spaces. Yes, it's a trek up the stairs but this isn't a surprise in Edinburgh. The apartment however does need a bit of love from a maintenance person. It looks like the ceilings were recently painted as there's still masking tape around the light fittings, but there's also a shelf coming off the wall in the lounge, fridge covered in scuffs and dents, and toilets difficult to flush. Worst part was the showers, 2 of which were blocked so the trays just filled with water and then black bits started coming up as well. Just get some drain unblocker and cleaner down there, it's not difficult.
We stayed at an apartment for nine days during the Fringe and were thrilled. Right on the Royal Mile. Nice to have a kitchen for breakfast. it was everything we could have hoped for. Highly recommend. It could be a bit nosy, so bring ear plugs.
We stayed in a 3rd floor flat at Lady Stairs Close. Located on the Royal Mile just a stone throw away from Edinburgh Castle, it was perfectly located for sightseeing, great shopping and dining. Just remember, these are old buildings, so no lifts, but a stone spiral staircase to navigate. Flat had all modern conveniences including a well appointed kitchen and great wifi. Thanks go to Paul and Harvey for taking care of us.
We rented two of the Stay Edinburgh City Apartments on the Royal Mile. For the most part, everything was good: * Location was as advertised, right on the Royal Mile with easy access to the Castle and bars/restaurants. Of course, this is a very busy area during the day, with lots of tour buses. So this can be either a good or bad thing, depending on your perspective. We loved this location at night when it was not crowded, did not like it so much during the day when it was overly busy * Really good service, for example: -- We had an issue with no hot water in one of the apartments the first day. I stopped by the office to notify them, and the issue was fixed while we were out. -- Our washer did not work, but the office offered to take our clothes and have them washed and folded at no charge. -- We were low on toilet paper, and rolls were brought over almost immediately. So the only real negative was the apartments themselves. The pictures online make them all look luxurious - they are not. There was actually quite a disparity between the two apartments we rented. The 2 bedroom apartment had much bigger rooms and was decorated in a nicer fashion. The 3 bedroom apartment had very small rooms and just felt a bit run down. The price of the 3 bedroom apartment was only slightly more than the 2 bedroom despite the additional bedroom and I surmised afterwards that the quality of the rooms explains the small price difference. Ideally, they need to better explain that the 3 bedroom apartment does not meet the standards as the other apartments and hence how it is priced.
We were a bit unsure of what to expect as we booked it so long ago. Apartment was spacious and beautifully decorated. Had everything we needed, including towels, hairdryer, washing machine, dishwasher, hand soap, etc. We were right in the middle of the Royal mile, and could walk everywhere. Great atmosphere to sit at window in evening and see everything going on, on the Royal Mile. Beyond great. Highly recommend. Apartment staff were very friendly.
Truly the perfect place for a family to stay (2 adults 2 teen children). Near all the desired attractions, easy walk from the train station, great clean, functional apartment. Staff are very friendly and communication is very good. You are missing a great option if you don't book with them.
