The decor was fun both in the room and common areas. The bathroom was nicely sized and the room was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was massive and delicious! We liked that the lightrail/train was nearby. We felt the city was really walkable - we walked to dinner in the grassmarket and to explore the mile and visit the castle. We only had 24 hours in Edinburgh and would love to come again.

Great location. Dated and housekeeping not always done. No frills especially for the price.
The room was clean. However housekeeping missed my room on occasion. Also, the hotel restaurant was okay, but needs some work. The first two nights I ordered the same thing on the menu and they were not in the same. Very different, bread should have been crispy but was soggy. Another night that I went down for dinner is that the gas turned off. They told me it was going to be a half an hour away and I ended up winning an hour and a half, none of the restaurant staff had come back to tell me that the week was going to be longer. I ended up paying for the drink in the Star group and I had and left.
Loved how friendly they were and the amenities (ie. Lemon water in the check-in area)
Good location and very nice breakfast. Needs a bit of a facelift in some parts.
Very nice
Accommodations were adequate and comfortable. Staff was courteous and flexible. No problems at all. Breakfast buffet was tasty and did not disappoint. All in all I recommend it. The close proximity to Haymarket and the tram was very convenient
Overall staff was very friendly and we appreciated that our room was available early. Our room did have need for touchups as did the property. Reading lights didn’t work, lack of toiletries in the bathroom, no wash clothes, just little things.
The hotel is very nice and located near the castle and the Royal Mile. You will enjoy staying here.
