We came for a last night in Edinburgh and this place was perfect. Good location. Close to the city and easy to get around. On arrival the space looked nice and well kept. We approached the counter to check in the two staff members assisted us. Well dressed and polite what ensued next was nothing short of a Monty python skit. “How would you like to pay for the room sir?” I already did. “Can you show us proof?” Here’s the receipt. “No different proof”. Whatever. After 30 minutes of farce the finally agreed the more likely than not I had paid and the sent us to our room. Nicely kept and comfortable the only concerns were the guttural screams coming from the restaurant. We decided to go out to eat. After a quiet pleasant meal we returned to rest and the first level had apparently been transformed into a giant discotheque. We slipped up to our room and found that the party would be with us the whole night as the bed was vibrating and screams louder. I called the front desk to complain and it seemed likely that they were running the discotheque. “Hopefully by midnight they might like to turn it down” I was informed. Fortunately the screaming moved outdoors and the music was just a pleasant vibration in our bed. Events are fine just accommodate guests who aren’t involved as if they chose not to be. I can’t imagine a worse night at a nicer place.

So... the toilet wasn't actually attached to the floor so that was scary. Also, the door knob was broken on the bathroom so it latched with a little slide lock, kind of like an outhouse. The beds were as comfortable as the summer camp beds you slept in at 6th grade outdoor school. Staff was alright. Helpful, but maybe slightly annoyed with our presence.

Upgraded us to honeymoon sweet at no charge, awesome. Room was right across from a noisy seminar room that went on until after midnight, not so awesome. Shower water was barely warm. That is why my rating on facilities is low. Last year free breakfast. This year 10 pounds per person. Did not eat breakfast.

A bit far from downtown but no problem with the great bus system. Several weddings during our stay. Many bus tour travelers. Different groups every couple of days. The restaurant food was good but expensive for what you got. Also, restaurant staff were there than they weren't. Had to wait for someone to pay our bill. Would recommend to others.

About 1/2 way between town and the airport across from a large park. Actually kind of quiet and rural. Modern, good price, all amenities, good pub and restaurant. Nice hotel and easy bus service (?taxi) to wherever.

Midnight arrival was no problem. Extremely helpful front desk. Wifi was awful.

We stayed here at the end of a tour of Scotland before flying out of Edinburgh for home. The location was great for this, but was a not very close to any shopping/restaurants. The room was very spacious and clean. We would stay here again for the same reason, but not for an extended stay in the city.

Our stay was great--room, amenities, staff, location were all what we were expecting, so we had no problems there. However, the wifi was terrible. We had to get a new code for every device every few days and it was hardly worth it. We didn't receive many of our messages, pages took several minutes to load (or never loaded at all), and no area of the hotel seemed to have good service. Breakfast was delicious and a wide selection. The hotel indoor pool, sauna/steam room, gym, and restaraunt were all great amenities though. It was nicely decorated and clean throughout the hotel. It's definitely a bit older, but it has been kept up well and modernized in most places.

Our stay at this hotel was great. It is reasonably priced compared to some other more expensive hotels closer to the city. There is a city bus stop nearby, which was convenient as we didn't want to drive the car into downtown. Our room was about average. I believe this hotel was a rebrand from a Best Western and they were going through a phased renovation. When I do revisit Edinburgh again, I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stayed here on our last night before flying off. Our stay was perfect for this purpose and car par availablity was also a positive

First night was tough , could not find the street finally asked some drunks coming out of the bars at 2 am and finally found it , street name missing 3 or 4 letters from name(street name not on GPS I purchased a couple days later , arrived around 2:30 am after terrible 30 hour trip from west canada and an overbooked flight , crashed in the not so comfy bed with only a bottom sheet and a quilt on top , was woken up early by what sounded like people dragging furniture but was so exhausted we managed to bear thru it , went out for breakfast and got a 60 pound ticket for parking where everyone else was parking , when we returned that evening we tried our keys but would not work , so back down to the desk for new ones , spent another night and was woken up at 2 am with pounding and more furniture dragging , I finally investigated the noise and found we were over a banquet hall in the hotel and they were putting furniture in storage closets , I went down to the desk to complain at 6 am and he said I should have phoned and they would stop , I explained my plight to him and he said they would stop ,he gave me a coupon for breakfast to appeize me that I was to pay 10 pounds ($20 canadian each for a continental breakfast which where I come from is free ,they did stop for half an hour so we got up and showered but did not have face cloths , when asked about the face cloths did not understand what we were talking about , I guess Scots don't use them , when we were leaving I asked for another room , they were hesitant so I had to demand it or I was finding another hotel and I told them I thought the coupon for breakfast was a slap in the face and did not appreciate it , they could not believe it was not a great gift for keeping me up 2 nights in a row , they did give us another room in the rear of the hotel and it was finally quiet but still the same uncomfortable bed(king bed is 2 singles put together) but in a much smaller room and in an area not easy to get to 2 man elevator , we tried the restaurant the next night and tried the Appetizer plate which had steak strips on it , fair at best , the next night we I tried a sirloin 8 oz steak , pitiful excuse for a steak as big as the palm of my hand and 1/4 inch thick and tough with a mushroom abot 3 inches across and disgusting looking and a little cup of fries for 23 pounds($46), my wife had the chicken , a few veggies and mashed potatoes pasty and bad tasting , after that we found a McDonalds that was a serious step up in quality No apology for keeping us up or having to move rooms All in all I reccomend that anyone looking at this hotel keep looking for another one "NO" I would not reccomend this hotel to a friend , an enemy maybe

The floors were squeaky in our room. The carpets had some stains. Overall it really was a decent hotel but certainly not exceptional.

In a town where the dollar (£) doesn't go far, this hotel was a good value. While not cheap, it had enough amenities to make up for the price. Clean, in good repair, no real complaints. It's a 25 minute bus ride to the city centre and the bus stop is close to the hotel.

I loved the location, very picturesque. From the restaurant, you can look out towards the Forth of Firth (I think) and see the airport, but the views are spectacular. The room was nice and fit my needs as a lone traveler perfectly. The staff were very accommodating and made me feel very welcome. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Edinburgh.

We stayed for 2 weeks and have no complaints at all. The staff was excellent, the restaurant was great and the location was perfect.

Great Hotel, between downtown and the Airport. Staff was very nice and made checkin easy, the room was clean and very comfortable.

This hotel was everything we needed. Right by the bus stop...so we got a weekly bus pass & rode all over the city. The indoor pool ,steam room, sauna,& exercise room were great! Especially after a day of sightseeing & walking for miles. We did not eat there. The only problem we had was we never got our wake-up call at 3AM, luckily we woke up , because we had to catch the 4:21 am bus. There was a hot pot in the room and coffee or tea, so we'd just pick up muffins or sweet rolls the night before & that was our breakfast . All in all a nice place to stay. Beware or creaky floors!

We stayed at the Edinburgh Capital Hotel in order to visit St Andrews and Edinburgh University. The hotel was well located for this purpose, easily reachable from the airport and with quick access out of the city towards the Firth of Forth Bridge, but also convenient for city sightseeing and visiting. The gym facilities are excellent, with a full fitness center and large indoor pool on site - as a guest you are even entitled to attend classes at the fitness center which include yoga, aerobics, etc. The on-site dining options are a little limited, and we felt that the restaurant was pricy for the quality of food, but it was convenient for a meal when all we wanted to do was eat and go to bed after our long flight. I would definitely stay here again and recommend for families and travelers looking for a cost-effective alternative to being in the city.

Great location not too far from airport and away from hectic city center traffic yet close enough to hop over to center. Very attentive staff. Nice hilly park right across road and many walking/ running options in adjacent residential neighborhood. Free spacious parking. Windows open for great fresh air.

although the hotel is configured a little funny and the room was hard to find, the hotel was quiet and relatively easily accessible. the food was pretty good for the price. they don't offer a complimentary service to the airport, but they did schedule a taxi for me at 4am. beds are pretty uncomfortable. shower is so-so.
