Had a lovely meal in the hotel's restaurant and had great service from the Staff - the menu was very varied and reasonable sized portions. I used a voucher I had purchased and this meal was great value for money!
Personal very kind and helpfull Near to busstation and tram Room a little noisy at night with the windows open. Very good noise isolation with windows closed. To be recommanded to everybody visiting Edinburgh
Our trip was great. So nice to be in Edinburgh away from the Texas heat. The room was small but very nice and very convenient. The tub/shower was interesting to get in and out of. We were with a group so we had a buffet breakfast in the morning which was good. We ate a few times at the hotel and the food was not bad. The staff was very friendly. The location was just a short walk from the tram and train station.
First time I have managed to stay in Edinburgh over the festival and had a great time. Staff all friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate in recommending Apex Haymarket to anyone. Enjoyed the 10 minute walk into centre of Edinburgh from the hotel.
Its the type of hotel were you get what you pay for, cheap and cheerful, its a small hotel but pleasant all the same. The location of the property is excellent, right near public transport and only a short walking distance to the city centre. The rooms are very small especially with our daughters travel cot set up in it but we still managed, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We ate In the hotel the evening we arrived, it was a little overpriced especially as the portions were small but very good quality, I didn't have many options to select from as they don't do a lot of gluten free options but the chicken dish I did have was very nice, if id of known the selection of gluten free was going to be very limited I would of eaten else where but it did all the same. Not a massive selection at breakfast either but enough options to find something to start your day. The staff were mostly friendly, the girl who checked us in was lovely but did make a mistake on checking us in, she asked if we wanted to add breakfast to our stay for £11 each we said yes and paid for our stay in cash but when we went down to breakfast the next morning we discovered she only charged us for the room and no breakfast so I had to go back to the room to try find our receipt which I did but only to realise it never mentioned breakfast on it, I should of checked when I was handed the receipt rather then taking for granted it was done, so error on both sides, the staff honoured the original price of £11 pp as they knew we were being honest for thinking we had already paid for it so the problem was solved very quickly. I did find the staff at dinner time a little unfriendly, when I mentioned I was a coeliac and asked for gluten free options I got a very long speech about how they cant guarantee that they won't contaminate my food and that gluten is in nearly in every meal and what did I want to eat and they would see what they can do and for finish I felt like I needed to say sorry for asking and I hate when a restaurant makes you feel a bother for asking for a food that won't make me sick, unfortunately I know a lot of places are uneducated about the autoimmune disease but I always expect hotels to have a higher standard of knowledge on dietary requirements as they get so many tourists, I also know plenty of people think its a fad diet but in my case it certainly is not and would just like to be able to eat without being sick so if id any constructive criticism it would be to please educate your staff on coeliac disease and regardless of it being a fad diet or not just please serve the customer and try assist them to make dining out a pleasant experience. Overall the stay was pleasant as it was just for the one night but I don't think id stay there if it was for a longer visit.
This APEX hotel is close to the city centre (30 min walk). Lobby is very small. Rooms are noisy, shabby and outdated. They are too small for all the furniture! Bed is ok. Bathroom too small, although shower is ok. Because of the carpet, the hotel (including the rooms) smells weird. Not recommended for people with allergies! Breakfast is poor and tasteless. The bar is open 24h, but no draft beer. Staff and service are average.
Very friendly, helpful staff. The room was beautiful, and spotlessly clean. We arrived too early to get into our room, but needed to get ready for a wedding, and the staff were helpful by allowing us a room to get ready in.
Hotel was close to Haymarket Station and Edinburgh West End. Booking in was quick and efficient and bedroom very clean. Small problem with room key but quickly solved. Addition tea, coffee and milk were available on request and room service were very efficient.
A very small lobby. One elavator for 4 Floors. Elevator is for 3 pax including bags. Roomsize Ok. Small bathroom no aircon. Noise from the street. And NO roomsave, breakfast is Ok staff is Lots of powersockets. Chair in room isnot for relaxing. One night is bearable there.
Visited for business stay. From initial experience at check in through to checkout everything was superb. Menus for dinner and breakfast were varied and interesting and the food itself was well presented and superbly prepared. The staff were all efficient but also friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
