The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, group accommodations were honored and the staff went above and beyond letting the team utilize a small meeting space so our team could enjoy food and beverages in a quieter place as to not disrupt the other guests. Breakfast was plentiful. Pool looked nice although I didn't use the facilities.
On the way to a weekend in the Duluth,MN area we stayed overnight in Eau Claire,WI. We stayed at one of our favorite hotel chains Americinn we like to have a King Suite with a Jacuzzi tub which was what we got we had a good night even with the hotel being full with a girls basketball team and there families it was fairly quiet our room was clean and the mattress on the bed was very good. It was a very nice stay overall the only problem with the stay was at 2:30 in the morning we were awakened by the hotels snow removal service snow blowing the sidewalk right below our window it didn't last long and we went right back to sleep the odd thing about it was that when I mentioned it in the morning to the front desk person she said oh no that couldn't have been there people they would never do that I simply nodded as it was a minor thing in an otherwise nice night. The only complaint I would say I have and it's more a suggestion I think the hotel needs a bit of an update on furnishings some things like carpeting and drapes looked a bit tired.
Needed one night stay for the Friday before Christmas. Very, Very clean, nice staff, and friendly. We did not use the pool or any TV. It was quiet we got in around 11 PM although did stop in to check in around 8 PM. Visiting the kids for an early Christmas. The breakfast was a good variety. The eggs & omelet was rubbery, but with the option of a fresh waffles, cereal, fruit, toast, bagel, yogurt etc. that was not an issue. Will be staying here again if we go up for a visit. Very nice staff at check in. Over heard offering good choices for dinner at check in to another couple.
Our family has stayed here every Dec for almost 20 years, a min of 12 rooms. We love coming! The staff is helpful, accommodating, and festive. (Gen. Manager Kristin is especially awesome!) The pool/hot tub are always clean and the staff even got out pool toys for the kids to play with. They brought out coloring stuff to help keep the kids occupied and decorated the wall with their artwork. We always enjoy the free continental breakfast; nothing fancy, but good and hot. The rooms are clean, with a mini fridge and microwave. Beds are ok. But considering everything else: this place is a steal. We would recommend it to anyone. (You just might want to steer clear of our loud crazy family this time every year!) 😀
After driving 12 hours we booked a room here for our overnight stay specifically for the hot tub. It doesn't work. We called the front desk and they said they'd come up to check on it. Quite some time later (after calling a second time) someone showed up and said she didn't really know how to work it so she'd call the manager. A bit later she called back and said "we can't do anything about it but it was working earlier so maybe it'll start working later." Not what we want to hear after driving for 12 hours. She offered to refund "the cost of the hot tub" whatever that means... Oh, and then we found some trash and someone's spit cup (like for chewing tobacco) behind the couch. So overall, a disgusting and disappointing stay.
First we arrive, get into our room and I find wet towels in the bathroom. I made the decision not to complain since I had enough clean towels for 2 people. I just let it go. We left for a few hours and came back around 9pm. I try to turn on the TV and it won't work. I'm super tired so I just decide to get a good night sleep instead of watching TV. I get some drinks from the vending machine, get back to my room, turn on the fridge, throw them in and go to bed. I couldn't sleep even though I was very tired. The mattress needs to be replaced. I could feel the springs and my whole body hurt. I also keep hearing these clicking noises. I get up later in the morning and go to get a drink from the fridge. The fridge doesn't work. At this point I'm so annoyed. I go to take a shower, look at the items the hotel provides and I notice they are half full. When I check out I tell the person the issues and the housekeeper was standing right there. She chimes in with Oh we knew that the fridge didn't work in that room. I was hot at this point. I will NOT stay there again or recommend it to anyone else. Pure nonsense.
Excellent service all round (from booking to hotel site to comfortable stay, and friendly professional staff). On our travel home we booked again and had to change our reservation to an earlier date, this was handled by front desk personnel in a most courteous and accommodating manner.
This hotel has 2 floors, but no elevator. Not just a broken elevator - NO elevator at all. If you are traveling with more than a duffle bag, food/snacks, a cooler, etc and don't want to make multipe trips lugging things up and down the stairs, then this may not be the hotel for you. Also, if you have an injury or any reason that stairs would be an issue, again, not the hotel for you. I asked to be moved to the 1st floor but there were no rooms available. Probably because there's no elevator and others requested the same thing. Hotel was clean, breakfast was fine - a typical hotel hot breakfast. But without an elevator I wouldn't choose this hotel again without the guarantee of a 1st floor room.
My wife and I got the whirlpool suite for our wedding anniversary. The price was very, reasonable and a good $50-$60 cheaper than similar rooms at other hotels. The room was fantastic, the staff were great, and my favorite part was the breakfast. This was literally the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. The food tasted amazing and there was much variety. The only problem was that I ate way too much because I had to try everything! Great job staff, don't change anything we will be back!
Thought I would give this property another chance since staying there last year in November. Hotel staff was great again and all other issues of concern (elevator not in service and well water had high nitrates) were fixed! Thanks for a great stay!
