We stayed here for two nights. The check-in was welcoming, nice and easy, the room was basic but what more do you need? The bathroom looked like it had recently been totally revamped. It was really quiet but we were there in the low season. The staff were very attentive and helpful - nothing was too much trouble (especially when I "broke" the room safe). Breakfast was again basic and typical for the region. The hotel has a deal with the restaurant on the front and you'll get a discount if you show the hotel card - the restaurant was very good and that will be the review I do right after this one. If you're travelling by car there are four spaces in front but more downstairs, although as the entrance is 30m before the hotel and unless you want to go the wrong way on a one way street you'll have to go all the way around the town to get back there.
We stayed for 2 days and enjoyed warm and friendly service. The room we had was mid size, the bath room was with a bath tub and everything was very clean. Beds have been comfortable. We also had breakfast, also very good. In case we travel again through this region, we will stay here again. The TV was very small with limited channels, however this was not so important to us.
nice hotel near the centre of town. Very nice people and good service. It had a nice breakfast and very nice location. The rooms were very nice and brought our the northern Italian charm. Your are only a few minutes walking to the centre of town and shops. Being Canadian and seeing all the hockey memorabilia was nice to see in the bar area of the hotel. Since we were cycling it was also very close to a bike shop (adjacent to the building) for some needed repairs.
A cozy hotel, in the center of Cortina, owned by a nice family who is willing to help you with all info you need. Perfect buffet breakfast and tasty coffee in the morning. Capacity smaller than big super commercial hotels, and just enough for everyone to find their own spot and have a personalized stay in the Dolomites.
We did a trek through the dolomites stopped here before and after they took care of our bags for 5 euro a day and gave us a decent breakfast, cute little schnauzer to keep everyone company, place is super clean which says a lot! Would come back, mainly for the pooch.
If you are looking for hotels in Cortina you might have noticed that prices are not among the lowest there. My 3 nights stay in a single room, breakfast included (270 EUR) was nearly the best price I could get (high season, Wed-Sat), especially taking into account the price-quality ratio. My choice of this particular hotel was also due to its location (close to some friends) and good reviews. The hotel is well located just next to the town centre and a shuttle bus stop (it's unlikely that you will be able to reach any slopes on foot, unless you like walking 20 min up the hill with the gear on; the closest lift is Faloria, 2-3 stops away). There is a comfortable ski rental just next to the hotel and a good food (albeit not so friendly) restaurant, both basically in the same building. The hotel is rather small, with a small reception area and a breakfast room. My room was fine, although a bit less beautiful than in the photos. I had a balcony with some view of the mountains and the huge nearby hotel. The room had a single bed, a cupboard, a desk and a bedside table. Small, but enough for one person who spends all the time outside. It was warm and cosy, the bathroom was of normal size and everything was functioning well, including the free Wi-Fi in the room. There was a small safe and a functioning hairdryer. Although decoration is not the newest, it was well maintained and I have no complaints. The only real complaint is that the doors and old-fashioned keys are rather noisy and you hear everyone coming in and out at whatever hours. This could have posed no problems, but and if you have a huge group of English youngsters staying there at the same time, a problem it is. As the noise isolation is completely inexistent, I had a feeling to be part of their "parties" at 4 or 5 a.m., when they started coming back from the bars... Breakfast was quite OK, the coffee was good, I appreciate the effort of adding some healthy stuff (natural yoghurt, dark bread croissants) to the usual breakfast biscuits and stuff, and the lady serving it was nice and friendly. There's also a ski deposit, but I wouldn't consider it very safe (anyone can go through that back door and there are no lockers), so I wouldn't feel too safe to leave my own gear there. Good enough for rented one though. Other than this the hotel doesn't offer anything else (a kind suggestion would be to have the maps of the ski slopes and shuttle buses for the comfort of clients ;), but if you need a spa, everybody can use the one of the hotel just beside, for 35 EUR. This is quite practical, you don't need to walk far away and the spa was quite empty on Wednesday evening. I would recommend the Panda hotel for anyone who is looking for a simple solution, doesn't need extra comfort or attention and doesn't want to stay in any of the "grand super chic" hotels. Might stay there again ;)
We stayed here for 3 days on a walking tour. The rooms, while not lavish, are very nice: you can see the thought and pride in the design and upkeep. We had a great view. There is no restaurant but the hotel is close to town. The breakfast was reasonable although the coffee was not great (unusual in Italy). Our son was sick during our stay and the staff were very sweet and helpful.
The Hotel Panda was a great experience. Lovely rooms with verandah and great views up to the mountains, and importantly after a few days' hiking, terrific hot showers. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. While it does not have it's own restaurant, there is an excellent pizza restaurant in the same building and almost limitless choices a few minutes up the road in the pedestrian Corso d'Italia. Laundry facilities would be a welcome addition.
This hotel has the smalles showers known to mankind! You cant even turn around. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Decent breakfast, easy to walk into center of town and not too noisy. Beds were comfortable.
I stayed here for 2 days while shooting a show for Discovery Channel. The hotel was great. Quiet and the staff was so friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. My view of the Dolomites was incredible. Post card perfect.
