Iron Horse Inn

This property is showing its age, but makes up for it with a beautiful setting, charming rustic rooms with a fireplace you can actually enjoy a fire in, a good breakfast and fun attentive staff. We stayed here a few days while enjoying the fall leaves up the Million Dollar Highway and the ruins at Mesa Verde. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would definitely stay here again. If you're into impeccable rooms with polished marble bathrooms and concierge service, don't stay here, you'll hate it. But, if you're a bit more relaxed, love a rustic homey environment and a little adventure go for it, you'll be glad you did.

Arrived to find previous occupants clothing and no towlet paper had to ask front desk twice for paper and clothes never removed. The bads we're so uncomfortable. I would never stay here again.

This was just a mediocre hotel. The location was random but nice to be away from the busy tourists. The room was very spacious. We were disappointed in a few things: the small beds, the sketchy people staying there, the clogged shower with disfunctioning shower head, small blurry TVs, and gross food. We won't be going back.

NIce, quiet hotel, off the road with large rooms. Some are being updated, ours still was in need of an update.

The rooms have lofts, which makes them feel spacious. But the downstairs kitchen area is not efficiently designed and we didn't like using a metal kitchen sink for brushing our teeth. Still, first world problems, right? We stayed in Durango for two nights and enjoyed the Iron Horse Inn. The narrow gauge train runs right by the hotel and that was certainly charming to see and hear. This hotel is a bit out of town but Durango is not very big so it's an easy drive to the pretty main street and wonderful restaurants.

Clean pool and friendly staff. My young kids loved watching the passenger train drive by. Inn is on the Durango trolley line which will take you all over town.

My husband and I had a wonderful time. Very clean rooms great food and gorgeous views.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was great.

The hotel is situated just outside of Durango, just 2 minutes or so. The views are fantastic.

Cute location by the mountain but off the main road Railroad runs behind the property but isn't a noisy nuisance Breakfast included Plenty of room in our clean multi level room Fireplace in our room and wood available for purchase at the front desk Kid's playground on the property

We enjoyed our stay at the Iron Horse. It was very clean and the breakfast was adequate.

In middle of much needed renovation. A ways out of town which means more driving, but was also quiet for sleeping. New mattresses were comfy and breakfast was pleasant.

Very friendly staff upon arrival, clean room, heated outdoor pool. I will definitely come here again.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Would definitely stay here again!

the hotel entrance was hard to find. nice room, good location.

Love the upstairs/downstairs set up and great mountain views. The staff went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable.

this hotel was nice...asked the guy at the front desk for burger recommendation....and the GRASS FED (?) place he recommended was very good. the room had kind of a smell to it, not stinky, just different...plenty of room.....1 bedroom upstairs and 1 down (tv in both)....it was clean :) they have a pool and a good breakfast...waffles!! This is not walking distance to downtown, but still not far either

Hotel was nice and felt like a cabin. The owner was friendly. It had an awesome view and seeing the train pass by was a great feature.

The Iron Horse Inn, despite being rated as a two star hotel, deserves some credit. The room was larger than expected and very clean. The hotel is situated along the Silverton Durango train tracks but the train does not pass during normal sleeping hours and the view of the valley beyond the tracks is stunning.

Great place all around! My daughters and I were very comfortable and happy with everything.
