My wife booked the hotel on Booking.com with an early booking rate. We were afterwards send an email that the hotel is not reachable by car on the day due to a sporting event. My wife was injured and couldn't walk easily so did not want to stay at a hotel that could not be reached by car. She called straight after receiving the information. The Hotel insisted on the GBP 260 for the room referring to the terms and conditions of the early booking rate. The fact that they only informed us afterwards about the fact that the hotel was not reachable by car was not considerate important. We called well in advance so the Hotel could have sold the room again but they insisted on ripping of their potential customer first.
The staff at reception welcomed me with beautiful smiles and yes...true German efficiency. It was a quick check in...and then a workout at the local gym to off set the jet lag....and yes a good gym at that with a choice of working equipment....what followed was a luxurious and awesome hot bath plus quick a room service ticking the box on A HOT cafe latte . Once the caffeine started to jet fuel my body....it was a crammed walkabout the local markets and Dusseldorf experiences. Then the transit to the station for my next German adventure. To add that the concierge sorted out all my train boarding details ...as I had changed my itinerary as is the way of a solo traveler. Worth the Euros spent, as yes....my countries exchange rate is steep so a few Euros spent on is required to be a GOOD/Excellent experience. Thank you to this Hotel and wonderful staff...I was not disappointed.
Well what can i say. From the very friendly receptionist Nadine when we arrived to the last check out day...GREAT!! The room, the cleanliness, the view, the location, the flair, the delicious breakfast, the yummy dinner done by room service because from sightseeing....dead 😊. The help from concierge, from Massaud and i think...John Roy (? name) who helped us to print out our boarding tickets. THANK YOU TEAM...FANTASTIC!!!
This is a great location hotel for shopping and dining. As always truly efficient service at check in and room service. Very limited menu however and expensive for what it was. The room was a deluxe level in need of refurbishment frankly. By today's standards it looked tired! A good breakfast and a reasonably quick checkout. I would return but not rush back Holmes place gym next store good. Overall not my best German experience
The location is excellent, everything in walking distance, all museums, parks, shopping, restaurants, shows!! Breakfast was superb. Room size could have been bigger. Lobby and lifts are great, the huge murals of German artists is lovely. A great place to stay!!
This is a very good hotel but just short of excellent Bright open and comfortable with large glass room Rooms are very well appointed if a little small Has good buffet breakfast, club lounge and cocktail bar Gym and swimming pool are part of the club next door with direct access. Very good gym but cud do with some natural light
Our group of 4 has recently stayed in intercontinental dusseldorf for a total of 5 nites. An excellent hotel, the location is simply the best in königsallee, cafes and restaurants nearby (Alex, Baan Thai, Sila Thai, soba-An). Shopping is just a 2 mins walk for retails, groceries . The room is comfortable and clean. Bathroom, very clever design and spacious to use. The club lounge is fantastic if u can access. We come back for cup of tea, cakes when we need some relaxation in the afternoon. Is the place to r&r. The staff are all very friendly in the club lounge . Most staff in the Pega restaurant are so friendly too with special mention to a gentlemen of Thai national. His name is Sutthipot (I may have spelled wrongly). He is cheerful and friendly, the best part when we checked out in early morning he rushed in to get us bottled water and some pantries for our packed breakfast...that's so lovely! Another special thanks must go to Mr Jonas Heide who has help to solve a tough issue we have encountered after hearing from us. Thank you for all at InterContinental Dus. Definitely will stay here again if we are at Dusseldorf again. Lately, Lobby is nice with a Saturday live pianio music. Sweet! Hope to see u all again! :)

I stayed for a weekend and did not regret my choice in InterContinental Dusseldorf and here is why: -Spacious clean room -Just 2 minutes away from Königsallee -Very friendly staff -Lovely lobby Note that all shops are closed on Sundays so Wildpark is a great place to visit if you're with family
