I stayed at this hotel in the first week of February 2018 with a work group. During my stay I bought some cards, put postage on them and left them with the front desk to be mailed. It's now April and these cards have not arrived in the US. I was disappointed that this simple thing could not be accomplished.
Everything about the hotel itself was fine. Staff were friendly and professional, the facilities immaculate. Got a great nights sleep. We arrived around 9pm and had expected to walk to dinner. There aren’t too many restaurants in the Hafen area, which is entirely reasonable, so we ended up at the hotel restaurant which was nice, if a bit pricey. Breakfast was tasty and filling. All in all, a solid hotel.
The stay in Duesseldorf was pleasant. We have started to stay almost exclusively at Marriotts for a good reason, they are very good places to stay. This one was very clean and you can tell they catered to people in a professional way.
Solid business hotel with decent sized rooms. The bar staff could be more attentive in the evening and the bar food leaves a lot to be desired. The receptionist (gentlemen possibly of Thai extraction) was great. Very friendly and efficient. Breakfast choices are ok but the queues in front of the two coffee machines are a bore and they might consider having one or two more.
Stayed here recently for a 10 day business trip. I was assigned a one bedroom suite, which is essentially two old rooms combined into one room. One side was the bedroom with the bathroom and the other side was the living room with couch, dining table and small balcony. It was nice to have the space during an extended stay. I used the small gym located on the top floor during my stay and it was sufficient to say the least. It consisted of a treadmill, elliptical and bike for cardio and also had a multi-purpose machine and small rack of weights. My main gripe would be that it needs to have more lighting. If using the facility at night, it was quite dark and I couldn't figure out how to turn on any more lights. The service at the restaurant is definitely what caught my attention. A huge shoutout to Zeinab and Ellie who waitress in the morning and afternoon. One morning while still fighting jet lag, I overslept breakfast by 30 minutes or so. Zeinab still set up a nice breakfast for me with some breads and even had the chef prepare a few eggs for me. When they went home, Max on the night shift kept the evening service great. There was nothing that was too much trouble. He even showed his drink making skills one evening making a very good old-fashioned. If I return to Dusseldorf again for business or pleasure, I will definitely be staying here.
I was there nine nights fir Dusseldorf boot. First problem this time is higher price that usual. But quality really poor. There is no place to park the car because the garage is really small. Than to many people during breakfast and onece i was waiting for my omlet and never get. 5 times for 9 nights the cleaning staff forgot to give me the shower gel and shampoo. And the gym is small room with one treadmill and one eliptic and one bike. So better to before everybody. What i liked? Nice room on 9floor, very good bed - it was nice to sleep there and nice working shower. Finally i preffer next time to stay other place - similar price and qualite better in Innside by Melia around the corner
It's a good option has an hotel for traveling and business. It is near the river and it can give good sight and walks. Restaurant is good and the staff in the hotel are nice. Rooms are very good. The only main complain is the internet speed that is very slow.
My lovely room overlooked the boatyard and I could see the Frank Gehry Buildings - a real plus. One day movies were being filmed along the bridge, short walk to local restaurants and there is a park of sorts on the same side that faces the Rhine River- good place to sit on park benches, bicycle, or river watch the barges . The staff were pleasant and very helpful. There was a 3 day delay in my airline getting my baggage to me and the concierge called me the day it arrived. Clean and quiet floor, room had small frig and coffee/ tea maker with supplies. Short walk to local tram to center of town and direct to Dusseldorf Main HBF.
I stayed during the medical Congress Medica so price was rediculously high, however that is the same for all hotels. Great welcome by the youngman on reception. Good quality room with very comfortable bed. Limited gym facilities but good breakfast selection and very helpful staff. Good tea coffee and snacks provided with the conference facilities. Fresh apples and pears in reception is a nice touch.
I got the top floor room with city view and really enjoyed the symphony of lights at the Harbour. The hotel is very close to major attractions like the Rhine Tower (Rheinturm) and there are many nice restaurants and pubs in Hafen area. The center and old town are only a 20 min walk but you can also catch the bus No 732 at a station nearby. The walk along the bridge next to Hyaaat with the light boxes was simply amazing at night! The rooms are super clean, the beds are comfy and there is a top-floor modest gym/spa with a great open space suitable for yoga and relaxation. The staff is awesome especially the sweet lady in charge of the breakfast session; she even surprised my little boy with yummy ice cream!
