This hotel is very close to the main Dusseldorf train station which makes it ideal for exploring Cologne and Bonn. A pleasant 15 minute walk from the city centre the hotel represents great value. It is clean and the breakfast is very good. The staff are among the most pleasant and helpful we have come across. I would definitely recommend staying here.
We arrived at the hotel in a panic as we had left a suitcase containing our passports on the train in from the airport. The staff at reception were so helpful and kind ( Corrina and her colleague who was originally from Italy). They helped us contact the railway company and our bag was found. We were so grateful to them both. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is really fresh and tasty. For the price, we thought this hotel was great. It's located on a busy street but it's easy to reach the station and the centre of town.
I wrote this hotel to book one room for one adult, two children. They sent me a price and contract, I agreed and sent back the contract. I noticed the contract had one double comfort, which accommodates only two persons. I questioned this and was told I would have to pay additional 45 euros on top of 148.60 euros per night that we originally agreed. Now I cannot find an alternative hotel due to the length of time to resolve my questions. I wrote them back asking to cancel but have not heard back. I feel like I have been taken advantage of, and have not had this type of reservations' experience before.
Myself & my partner stayed here for two nights in October. The hotel is well presented but it is a little dated. It is in a good location, close to an U-bahn and there is a lovely bier hall just across the road. Our room was a little small but it was fine as we were only there two nights. Bathroom is small but shower was nice, there was a hairdryer in the room and also kettle. Breakfast was good too, plenty choice and all staff were friendly. We would stay here again.
4 nights in 4* Best Western Savoy on business at the Messe. Great Value and Excellent location. Within walking distance of the Altstadt and Konigsallee. Decent clean rooms and a good buffet breakfast each morning. Only 17 minutes from the Messe on the Tram/Underground. Would return.
I went Best Western Savoy for 2 nights, I could only hope ir was just 1. Firam of all was the diference between what i expect from a 4 star hotel and what i found. The hotel is in dire need of a renovation and the size of the rooms cant be right, the shower had no light due to a curtain that blocked it and at the same time clanged to everything. At arrival, our specific reservation for a room with 2 beds had changed into a one bed bedroom, no apologies just a presentation of facts. Will not book with Best Western again.
This was our third visit to this hotel. On previous stays no complaints. On this stay we were housed in room 132. This room was a very small double. To access the left side of the bed you had to climb onto the bed as the corner of the bed was against a wall and a similar situation getting out of the bed. There was also very limited storage for our clothing. If we were housed in this room on our first visit, there would not have been visit no. 2. No other issues with hotel. Staff very polite and helpful. Breakfast first class selection for buffet. On our previous stays at this hotel, our rooms were spacious.
Rooms smelt of damp and corridors smelt of cigarette smoke. Breakfast was not great, very poor choice and overcooked food, was never offered a coffee. Hotel very dated and could do with a refurbishment. All the staff looked miserable (no-one from reception or restaurant smiled during our visit, the only person who did was the chamber maid) and there is unwillingness from staff to assist with requests (Request to change room due to smell of damp was met with a blank look and shug of the shoulders from the receptionist, and I had to set out my expectations to resolve the matter (which should be a given!)). On the positive, the bed was comfortable, and location was good.
Arrived at 10:30 pm., hoping to get the room, we got unpleasantly surprised when the room assigned for us was occupied by another guest when we entered the room. The experience was nothing but shocking when I came down to reception desk and receptionist just gave another keys without even trying to apologize. Incompetence of team members, zero understanding of guest's needs at the primitive level shows that the hotel needs good management to look after its employees and guests. Seems it couldn't get worse, but I was wrong when I opened the door to another room and find out that another room was on the 5th floor on the rooftop where your head is almost touching the ceiling and AC isn't working. So I went down again and staff informed me that it's the last room in the hotel available until I insist to recheck the availability. Hotel is in poor condition with limited facilities. Breakfast set-up is average but hygiene is poor with flies around the food in the buffet. Unfortunately the entire stay was prepaid, so I'm unable to change the hotel as it's an exhibition week here in Düsseldorf and majority of the hotels are fully booked by now.
This hotel has 4-stars. The hygiene, bed and facilities are OK but we sometimes felt that they were just missing some details to justify the star rating and the price we had to pay. Examples are: friendliness of the staff (you had to ask for everything, not pro active) and the breakfast which was OK but nothing more.
