The Hotel was perfectly placed. It has fabulous views and real peace and quiet. There were some local bars Tec but the real winner was being able to get the bus into town from right outside the Hotel. It was a great service very frequent and reliable and took you directly to the Pile gate. The centre of Dubrovnik is very busy and crowded so to have the peace and quiet of the Hotel to return to was amazing. The pool and pool area were excellent. It was spotless the staff were always on hand and of course the view was wonderful.Breakfast was good plentiful and with a good variety.Didn't eat other meals at the Hotel. The staff were without exception helpful and friendly.

We had 6 nights here half board and really enjoyed it. It was very convenient for the bus into Dubrovnik centre. There are also some lovely walks around the coast from the hotel.Food was excellent, sunsets were fabulous. The only thing that let it down was the room. We paid extra for a balcony and asked for a quiet room. We ended up with a balcony with no view that overlooked a flat roof. Apart from that it was a lovely place to stay.

Nice hotel which had everything we wanted - bar, restaurant, gym, pool etc. The staff were friendly and when we had an issue with our shower they fixed instantly showing they can deal with problems. Everything was of a very high standard and we were very happy with our stay there.

The hotel was nice and the staff were helpful, although some of the staff serving food in the bars were sometimes rude and impatient. the room and bed was comfortable and very clean. the location was very good with beautiful scenery. It was expensive to eat out everyday.

Just returned from a 9 night stay at the Valamar Argosy Hotel. We were visiting Dubrovnik for the second time having stayed at the Valamar Lacroma last year. We booked a superior room with a side sea view which I would recommend to anyone staying at this hotel. We were on the 3rd floor which gave us an excellent view from the balcony. The views from the hotel are stunning with the busy waterway into the port, the surrounding hills and views of several islands away into the distance. We have no complaints about any aspect of our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we needed them. We enjoyed the food and always found plenty of choice to provide some variety each day. Our flight arrived after the restaurant had closed for the evening but the hotel had provided a plated meal for all the guests who were late arrivals that evening. A nice detail and made us feel immediately welcome. We wouldn't normally mention the cleanliness of a hotel as it tends to be something you take for granted. However the service provided by the cleaning staff was first class and to a very high standard with the minimum of intrusion into our day. Plenty of room in the restaurant and an option to eat breakfast and dinner outside on the warmer days. You will certainly enjoy the views and makes a memorable change as part of your holiday. Location of the hotel is ideal. I don't think we would have liked to be in the busier parts of town. The hotel is located on a peninsular with 3 other Valamar properties. Its easy to get the number 6 bus which depending on traffic will take about 15 mins into the old town. You can also walk into the outskirts of Dubrovnik along 2 different routes by the waters edge from the hotel. Both have beach clubs and bars for a coffee or beer along the way. You should go to see the Cave bar which is very interesting on the route from the Palace Hotel. Dubrovnik is quite busy as a result of the cruise ship visitors but we planned days and times when the visitor levels are lower. There is a website to monitor the cruise ship movements into the port which helps. We should mention that our holiday and flight were booked through Monarch which all worked well for our requirements. No hesitation in recommending a holiday at the Valamar Argosy. We will no doubt be visiting again in the future.

Stayed recently for 11nts on Half Board and cannot fault anything about this hotel. Quiet location but only a 20 minute bus ride to the Old City, with buses every 15mins costing 12-15 Kuna each way. Hotel is spotlessly clean and tidy, lovely pool area with plenty of sun beds and fabulous views. Very friendly helpful staff. Great food selection. Room 254 had excellent view of the sunset every night. Definitely recommend.

Me and my friend spent 7 nights in this relaxing modern beautiful hotel from 6-13 August 2017. From the moment we arrived till we left we enjoyed our stay here. Check-in and check-ot was quick and the receptionists were extremely helpful when we asked their help. In spite of that we paid for a garden view room, we got a confortable twin room with a french balcony overlooking to the beautiful infinity pool with the see and a surranding hills. This was a great start. Our room (No 363) was very close to the pool and the restaurant which was perfect. We can not express enough how happy we were to have that beautiful view every day at breakfast looking over the see and the hills. The food was always fresh but every day the same. We did not mind it as there were lot of things to choose from. The only thing we missed was a smile. We hardly got a "Hello" or "Good morning" from the restaurant staff. There was only one young waiter in his 20-is who was friendly and kind to us. Unfortunatelly I cannot remember his name. All the others even did not look at us when we entered the restaurant. This was not a good feeling. It would be nice to be greeted upon arrival. A smile doesn`t cost anything and can make the hotel guest feeling welcomed. The hotel is 15 minutes away by bus (No 6) from the Old Town. (Bus stop is near the hotel.) 1 way bus ticket purchased on the bus is 15 KUNA. If you buy it in the Souvenir Shop in the hotel it is cheaper: 12 kuna. Be aware that the hotel bar is very expensive: 1 espresso costs 34 kuna (!) (4.17 GBP) while a coffe anywhere else no more than 8 or 12 Kuna. You can buy anything you need easily from the little shops and restaurants just behind the hotel. Go to the exit next the restaurant door and through the little square and you will find it. We had dinner there several times for no more than 70-80 kuna/person which is a good price in Dubrovnik. The weather was very hot with 37-42 C degrees every day so water was essential. 1 little bottle of water is 10 Kuna in the shops. We did not use the minibar. It was always leaking and melting. The bathroom was OK. The cleaning needs a bit improvment. No big bath towels (only 1 for 2 of us). The infinity pool was great with breathtaking view and nice water temperature and amaizing massage sits/beds in it. The aquagym could have been better with more intensity and fun. Lots of sun beds and umbrellas around the pool. We liked the hotel and would recomend it to people who would like to have a very relaxing place with gorgeous view and romantic sunsets. I almost forgotten to mention the 2 wounderful beaches few minutes away :Don`t miss it out!! CAVA Beach and Club and Capacobana Beach !!! Just 5 minutes walk on the right side of the infinitiy pool!! Finally I need to mention 1 very importan thing for those people who fly with British Airways . As this airline does not let you do the check-in earlier than 24 hours before your flight, so we wanted to do it at the hotel before we check-out. Though the receptionists were really very helpful and they let me use their computer but they did not have any idea about the fact the Dubrovnik does not support the on-line check-in at all. As we did not know it, It caused us such a big stress and frustration while I was trying to do it again and again in vain for about 3 hours. We had to leave the hotel without having our bording pass printed. We could not talk to British Airways as their office was closed on Sunday morning. So we left the hotel in the hope that somebody would help us at the Airport. When we arrived at the Dubrovnik Airport Departure we found a very simple way to manage the bording pass by scanning our passport there at the entrance. (You also need your initiary number of your booking.) This is so simple and easy way but I think the hotel receptionist need to know it as there are hondreds of British tourist visiting Dubrovnik. Unfortunatelly the hotel staff had no idea about this! Please let your receptionists know that on-line check-in for British Airways can be done ONLY at the Airport just before the departure. It will make other hotel guests to avoid that terrible stressful time what we had to go through because of the lack of this information. Otherwise we had a beautiful holiday in Dubrovnik and in Valamar Argossy and many thanks to the gentleman receptionist who tried to help us with that on-line-check-in. We would definitely like to return.

Read the reviews for the hotel and thought that they couldn't live up to the expectations. Well I was wrong. There are 3 sister hotels next to each other and you can use the facilities for each hotel. We tended to use the sunbeds at a really small charge about £3 at the President hotel as it was further round the peninsular the views from any of the hotels are superb with little island dotted around and the cruise ships and sailing boats in the distance makes the horizon a lot more interesting. You can hire banana boat rides, sofa rides and also go jet skiing or scuba diving. we did a trip on a boat around the 3 islands which was beautiful and great to see these hidden gems. This can be arranged through the hotel. The trip15 min into Dubrovnik town by bus £2.50 return is also good the buses run every 15 mins from just outside the hotel. The town is amazing. The gym at the hotel was ok there is also a sauna but we didn't use it. The food at the hotelk is something else. It's buffet style and freshly cooked. the choice was great even for the fussy eater. Lots of Chicken, meat, fish, cheese and vegetarian options. plenty of fresh salads (not swimming in mayo) and grilled and roasted vegetables. Rice, potatoes of varying recipes and pizza cooked freshly in front of you. Selection of breads also. Breakfast was amazing, eggs cooked 4 different ways, cheese, hams, porridge, fruits, yogurts, cereals, sausage,s bacon, breads, croissants, jams and toast. The staff were all super friendly and the local wine was fabulous Posti. We walked along the promenade and went to a few different cocktail bars. There are also some beach clubs you can visit as well. If i was negative it would be although the lobby/bar area was very light it could have been updates a little with modern chairs and tables and updating the bar as sometimes it took a little time to get served. The bedroom were also lovely and spacious. The air con was a little noisy but it didn't stop us sleeping. The beds were comfortable

We stayed here for 4 nights. We were with Riviera group. We had a lovely room on level 1 which looked out onto turquoise blue sea and islands. We had a patio and could walk straight from our room out into the grounds. The room was perfect. There was a fridge, tv, safe. Plenty of towels, nice shower in large bathroom. We were not troubled by noise at all. Fairly long walk to the restaurant. There was a lovely indoor pool as well as a infinity outside pool. You could walk down to a couple of little beaches if you so wanted. This hotel is in an area that has four or so hotels, but lovely Lush grounds to walk between. There is a few shops and bars in a complex hundred yards away. You can get the number 6 bus straight into the old city. It runs every 10 minutes, and you can purchase bus tickets in the hotel shop. 24 kunas for a return. Hotel is a few miles away from old town. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Evening meals were serve yourself. A varied selection everything you could think of. RIVERIA guests get a free bottle of water with evening meal. Great hotel. We didn't have any gripes.

Outside Dubrovnik but easy to go to D ,with bus leaving a couple of minutes from hotel entrance.Clean hotel and very serviceminded staaf. We ate lunch at the pool restaurant .Average meal . Possibility to eat buffé in the evening if you wanted. Breakfast was excellent.
