We really enjoyed our stay here, the pool was very nice and relaxing and the views were stunning. Great location very close to a few beaches and also very easy to get the bus into Old Town. The buffet breakfast was good as it had a big selection and the hotel shop was very convenient.

My wife and I had a brilliant week here. We booked a package trip with Jet2 Holidays and got a good price. The hotel had everything we needed - large room and bathroom (with safe), lovely infinity pool with great views, extremely friendly and helpful staff, lovely beach (5-10 minute walk away) and brilliant buffet breakfast (with nice omelettes!). It's close to a bus stop and it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the old town. We had a great week here and would happily recommend it.

We spent the school holiday week at the Argosy as part of a Jet2 holiday on a B&B basis and we could not fault the hotel facilities or hospitality in any way. Very quiet location and very helpful and friendly staff. Located on the Babin Kuk peninsula the hotel has a beautiful outlook and is well placed for walking to nearby beaches and small shopping centre. Dubrovnik Old Town is a twenty minute bus ride away or 75 minute leisurely stroll half of which is along the coastal path and then following the main route. Prices in hotel for food and drink were on the pricey side but only marginally more expensive than other restaurants and bars. We ate out in the evening but the dinner buffet seemed good value. Breakfast choices to suit every taste and freshly made bacon / sausages / eggs etc to your choice. No complaints at all and well done the Argosy !

Stayed here for 4 nights as part of a Riviera Travel tour. The hotel is quite large and in a beautiful spot right next to the sea. The pool area is stunning with an infinity pool that looks over the ocean. There were beautiful sunsets every night. The buffet style restaurant was pretty good but it did get very busy at times but that's to be expected. There is a beautiful coastal walk that starts right outside the hotel on the pool side. This can take you most of the way to Dubrovnik old town (about 45 minutes walk) with stunning views along the way (a visit to the cave bar is recommended). There is a bus right outside the hotel that takes you into Dubrovnik which takes about 10 minutes and costs 15 kuna each way (or 12 kuna if you buy at the shop in hotel reception). A visit to Dubrovnik at night is thoroughly recommended, it looks beautiful all lit up. Drinks are quite pricey in the hotel but there are some bars on the hotel complex plus some restaurants and a couple of shops. We enjoyed our stay here.

Just home from an amazing trip to Dubrovnik staying at this wonderful hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful especially Smiljana the front office manager who couldn't do enough to help us changing our room to an even more amazing sea view looking over the bridge and cruise ship port. Such a beautiful peaceful and friendly hotel with great food and great staff and amazing views. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

This hotel was a lovely little find and very good value for money. The views from it are amazing. I would definitely recommend paying the extra for a sea view room. The staff were friendly and food very nice with lots of choice and things were always being replenished no matter what time you went for your meal. Literally the only slight negative we had was the bed was too hard for our liking but I appreciate this may be a plus point for some people. The hotel is also perfectly placed for catching the bus into the old town as you are at the start of the number 6 route we always managed to get a seat for the 10-15 minute bus journey. We did also get a taxi back a few days as it worked out cheap to do this too. There are also some lovely coastal walks around this area.

This is a brilliant hotel with beautiful views and we cannot fault any aspect, except the temperature of the food. More accurately it was the temperature of the plates. Food is buffet style and hot dishes were cooked to order. There’s plenty of choice for even the fussiest eater. The problem was that the plates although in plate warmers were never hot. Napkins were placed by the food warmers but never needed to protect hands from hot plates. Consequently by the time you reached a table food had cooled to luke warm. The waiting staff are excellent as are all the hotel chefs and house staff. One wonders why they insist on serving bottled water at 21 kuna a small bottle when the tap water at this hotel is fine. Perhaps we should have insisted on tap water, but we didn’t. Drinks purchased in the hotel we thought rather expensive, but alternatives are available in the local bars at more reasonable prices. If you like to make your own coffee and tea, a kettle is available by request from the helpful staff at reception.

The hotel is away from the Old City which is a good thing due to the crowds. Easily reached by local bus. The hotel itself is great as is the breakfast buffet. My average rating (which should be below average) was due to the location of the room I was given. I was there for three nights and the issue was the same each night. You can avoid it IF you do NOT get a room overlooking the lobby and the bar. The bar had entertainment which stopped at 11:00 which is reasonable. However, staff did not seem to care that the noise level continued to be very loud well past midnight.

Clean, spacious, airy. Rooms are cleaned daily. Toiletries are updated daily. Everything works as it should. Bathroom too is spacious. Breakfast and dinner buffets are extensive, and I mean EXTENSIVE. I give this an A, presentation wise and gustatory wise. The buffet staff are also very helpful. For a European hotel, this one takes the cake-- space-wise, amenities wise, buffet wise. The only drawback are their pillows. They look fluffy but they are not. They collapse when used. One cannot snuggle into collapsed, unfluffy pillows, no siree. One tries to fluff the pillows up, but they turn flat anyway. And that somehow takes away from complete sleep satisfaction.

There are a number of Valamar resorts in the Babin Kuk area of Dubrovnik. We chose this one as it seemed to be the mid point between the five star President and the others. I'm not sure how old the hotel is, but it is kept up well. The bathrooms perhaps were a bit dated, or perhaps it was just the styling. When you look at the rest of the hotel it appears modern. It perhaps leaned to a Scandinavian look. Ours was large and met our needs no issues. The room was spacious and while it was on the "main floor" when we walked onto our balcony it was actually the second floor and not ground level. I suppose the hotel is on a hill. The room was comfortable and we slept well. There is a stocked mini bar which we did not use. Our balcony faced the gardens and a nice view of the sea. Breakfast was included in our plan. It was buffet style and quite lovely, especially when I compare to buffet breakfasts in the Caribbean. We paid extra for dinner which was buffet style also. It cost 180 Kuna which is about 35 CDN. The quality was good and plentiful. We actually ended up eating there three nights and the main entrees changed all the time. Usually you have three to four meats to choose from and two or three fish dishes in addition. The dinner house wine is about 180 Kuna. They let you take it with you if you don't finish the bottle. Otherwise a glass is about 40 Kuna if I recall. They do have bar packages available, which you should look into if you like to lounge around the pool and have cocktails etc, it would be more economical. There is a small shop area about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel with three restaurants and some souvenir and mini marts. We bought water and wine there for our room consumption. It was nice to have a wine on the balcony every evening before dinner. The taxi to the airport is flat rate 300 Kuna from this area. It's a thirty minute ride but we didn't have traffic at this time of year. They have an indoor pool and fitness area with spa. We stayed outdoors and the outdoor area is lovely with a poolside bar area and gorgeous views as you are directly on the sea. You can walk down to the public beaches the Coral and the Copacobana. They offer extra services which you can pay for. They are a five minute walk and they are down steps to the beach area, as this is hilly terrain. Poolside at the hotel you have a lovely elevated view! Given the time of year, we stayed out of the sea, however many people still swam. The area shuts down for the season in October and reopens sometime in March or April, I believe for Easter. I would stay here again and spend more time lounging here. After the Dubrovnik sites we only had one full day to sit around the pool. There is also a lobby bar with nice entertainment every now and then.
