I stayed in hotel Lero with my kids. The staff is very polite and helpful. The room is spacious and very comfortable. It's very clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom is quite large. An excellent location of the hotel. We liked walking to the old town and back so it was great. We spent a wonderful time in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik. The hotel is lovely. We'll come back again.
The check in was terrible. We arrived in the evening around 6 or so. The guy at the reception was not that welcoming. No help in bringing our baggages to the room. Funny the hotel policy(in my opinion) in winter no complimentary water bottles are given! Well, okay! The rooms are not that bad I mean the size. The room that we had opened to the pool. But the bathrooms are terrible. Their wash basin is a disaster. The sink practically doesn’t have a gradient towards the drain and the water practically stands still and doesn’t drain easily. It was bad bad to use it esp while brushing. If nothing, Lero hotel has rules written all over their place. Too bad I missed taking pictures of that. One that caught my attention was at the breakfast place “Dear guests this is all you can eat for breakfast and please do not carry anything with you.” My DD can be fussy over eating and I usually ask the hotel guys if I could carry an apple or an orange with me, here I did not even feel like asking even if she did not eat. Well this maybe normal but to me, after having travelled quite a bit, first time coming across such a rule! The location of the hotel is not that close to the city. We were on a private tour so had a car so it was easy to get to the center. I did learn that in winter most of the hotels in Dubrovnik are closed and is off season, Lero should do the same if they cannot offer good service.
This hotel is very modern and clean and it is within walking distance. We chose this hotel for our trip to Dubrovnik because we wanted to stay somewhere modern and spacious - most of the places to stay within the walls of Dubrovnik old town are spare rooms above restaurants. However, if I was visiting Dubrovnik again I would choose the spare room above the restaurant just to get the full experience of being there.
When you look the hotel up online it is often promoted as a 4 star hotel . /When you enter the hotel they also show 4 stars. surely that is someone's opinion but this is far from the fact. The only thing that is 4 star is the staff. The balance of the stay is average at best. The room we stayed in was not made up until we requested a number of times, The room was dated. The buffet was average for both breakfast and dinner. The menu was the same for both breakfasts we ate as were the dinners. The food was plentiful but tepid. This hotel appears to cater to tour groups and therefore they seem to prefer quantity over quality. The only saving grace is the price if that is all you are looking for. The hotel is at best 3 stars... Maybe.
We stayed at the Hotel Lero for two nights. The hotel is very modern with spacious, comfortable rooms. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful . The lobby opens to a swimming pool and a nice bar that also has outdoor seating. It is relatively close to old town, but it is still a 15 - 20 minute walk to get there. They have a buffet breakfast and dinner. We tried both and found a good variety of average food.
I loved my stay in Hotel "Lero". I spent there 4 nights, it is a decent hotel. The staff was very kind & helpful, I had some medical issues so they advised me which cab to take and where exactly to go. Food was good, room was clean, we did not have hot water for one day, I suppose there were some technical issues. I would recommend this hotel to the business people; it is quite so you can work and it is not far away from the city center.
We picked this hotel for an overnight stay because of its good ratings and its claim to be well situated for the bus station and old town. We were so disappointed. To be fair, there seem to be very few hotels within the old town itself, and this hotel is quite possibly better located than many others. But it was a half hour walk to the old town (uphill on the way back) and it was another half hour to/from the bus station. The lobby was nice in a 'could be anywhere' sort of way. When we went into our room we were hit by the strongest wall of unpleasant air freshener - assuming this was just what they did in this hotel, we opened all the windows and went off to explore. Later that night we realised the bathroom stank of cigarettes and the air freshener was a cover up. The room was ok, in a dated way - it reminded us of a travelodge but not as nice. And you could hear noise from next door's tv. The buffet breakfast was gigantic and looked incredible but was actually more style than substance - fine, but just not that good. Which pretty much sums up this hotel.
This is a good hotel. 4 star, nice rooms, service minded on the main desk. Nice bar, wifi and from here one can walk to the town, Although one can puchase a bus ticket in reception and the bus stop is just outside the hotel. The breakfast was more than adequate. Definately one to recommend.
We stayed in the family room for 2 nights in Oct and pick this hotel as it is only 10-15 min walk to the old town. Photos from the website showed a newly renovated hotel lobby, but that’s about it. The rooms are pretty basic run down. Exhaust fans at both bath and toilet were not working and the hotel did not send anyone to take a look even after repeated reminder. Receptionists at the front desk was not very friendly, maybe having too many tourists to deal with at Dubrovnik. In fact, this is the only place in the whole of Croatia where we found unfriendly staffs. Breakfast was very good though! Stay here if you want to be really near the old town but do not expect good service.
Unfortunately we were unlucky and were given a room with an inter-connecting door to the room adjacent. The sound proofing is so poor we could hear our next door neighbour yawn and the click of their kettle going on! Not much privacy - a key requirement for a hotel room. Disappointingly as other reviewers have mentioned the pool was 'closed for maintenance' all week. We did ask reception and were informed the pool wouldn't be open because it was the end of the season. The hotel is in a super position, the food is good value for money and the hotel is spotlessly clean. Problem is TUI promised us a pool and the hotel is not 4* especially given the rooms lack privacy. The hotel informed TUI the pool was open - when signs were out all week saying the pool was closed.
