We were here for New Years for 4 nights with my family, which included a young adult and two older parents. We all loved it. Very nice hotel and very helpful staff. The bay is beautiful and there are interesting places to walk from hotel. Old City is easy and quick (maybe 10 minutes) bus ride and easy cab ride. Good restaurant/breakfast. We would definitely stay here again. Great location for day trips to Montenegro and BiH.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Kompas; I received an Expedia upgrade to a water view room, which was excellent. Bed was comfortable, room temp was ok, but the air would not turn on (could be a seasonal thing, so left the patio door open at night, until the guy next door started smoking). Breakfast each day was good.

I echo most of the reviews about this hotel - great location, friendly staff, convenient bus runs to the old town, sea views are outstanding, entertaining boardwalk area (restaurants, nice movie theatre, beach access, arcade-like area for kids) - but what isn't discussed much (but I consider a stand out) was the breakfast. For a buffet, it might be the best I've encountered anywhere. It had a wide variety of options to cater to all tastes, and the restaurant was elegant and sea-facing. I dream about this buffet!

It’s nice to stay in the core of busy tourist meccas like Dubrovnik, but I’ve come to appreciate a quiet gem outside the commotion when I can find it. If you come to Dubrovnik in high season, bear in mind that they are now beginning to limit the number of people entering the Old Town, where up to 14,000 people ( many are cruisers) a day have crossed the threshold to shop and sightsee. The Kompas hotel is a refuge on a quiet bay, featuring a crystal clean pebble beach across the street and an outdoor pool. It’s a modern hotel with lots of crips white and light grey colors. Rooms are comfortable and modern with all the best amenities. Restaurant and bar provides excellent food and service. Nice fitness center, spa and indoor pool, all in clean good working order. You can easily get into the town center by taxi, Uber, local bus #4 (10 min or so) or even walk but it’s hilly . I strongly recommend this upscale , comfortable, stylish property.

Usually hotels in very popular tourist destinations do not offer the best service or value for money because they are always quite full and they don't have to. I was a bit suspicious that this might be the case in hotel Kompas as well. But it was actually totally opposite. Hotel is on a very nice location, with fantastic view and it is very convenient if you come by car. They have valet service so you can just leave the car when you arrive and they park in the garage. Rooms are comfortable and nicely designed. My room had a balcony with great sea view. Since I had a birthday during my stay, on that day I got a small birthday cake - very nice gesture from the hotel management. Thanks! Bar on the top floor has very nice atmosphere and again - great sea view! COnference facilities are also very comfortable and you can have a very good meeting or conference there.

This is a great hotel, especially for the money. Friendly helpful staff, excellent spacious rooms and a very good breakfast. The location couldn't be better - wonderful sea/bay views, a short walk to the bus to take to the Old Town and very close to a lot of restaurants and bars. The hotel is quite new with a lot of 'white' everywhere'. Time will tell how it wears but, for the moment everything was looking good and of high quality. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is fairly new, beautifully decorated in modern art, well located, and efficiently run. Everything was really good - we were apart of a 16 person group, and they handled all of the details perfectly. The hotel is built into a hillside - taxis and cars use the Lobby entrance which is on the 10th floor! Rooms are on floors 9-1, and the restaurant is on floor 0 - which is also the exit to the bay front promenade. Restaurants, coffee/bar places, a supermarket, playground and tennis club are located along this walkway. There is also a gorgeous walkway that runs the opposite direction from the hotel exit area along the bay front. The i clearly one of the best hotels in this area of Dubrovnik. The hotel will gladly assist in arranging for a taxi to and from the airport which is over 30 minutes away.

Nice new beach hotel close to Old Town. Views are stunning from the balcony. (Make sure your room has a sea view or you could end up facing a wall!). The room was very clean and has all needed stuff including safe box, kettle, hair dryer, and fridge. Breakfast was very good with choices. Chocolates left in room every evening which is nice touch. There is a promenade right behind the hotel with a nice beach and lots of restaurants. Dubrovnik itself is beautiful and a must see. Easy bus from the top of the promenade road where bars and restaurants end. $2.25 each way.

Thank you Kompas for acknowledging our 30th Wedding Anniversary on our ten day stay with bottle of fizz, roses and chocs! They were much appreciated. Good sized modern room with dressing gowns/slippers available. House keeping every day to top up tea/coffee/clean cups/toiletries/towels and make beds. Great spread at breakfast and able to eat outside but smoking is allowed here. Not too busy for dinner and dishes explained in English. Staff always friendly and helped us when needed. Stone beach not far and within walking distance of marina. Came home very relaxed.

Room and hotel were clean, and quiet. Great views from sea view balconys. Restaurant quite expensive, but loads of places to eat nearby. The bus to Pile Gate is only 5/10 minute walk. Pool and Spa facilities great.
