The Parliament Hotel Temple Bar

Recent guest reviews

We booked this hotel based on the high reviews from other travelers. However, I'm really confused about why the ratings are so high. Although the hotel staff are really nice, and I feel bad about rating it so low, this hotel is pretty rough and I feel like the reviews are not accurate. It looks nothing like the online pictures. Everything is old and run down. The rooms are also really uncomfortable with no ammenities (coffee, iron, etc). Worst of all though was the mold growing on the ceiling in the bathroom--that's really unacceptable and dangerous! The mattress may be the hardest that I've ever slept on (there were springs poking us in the back) and the walls are so thin we heard EVERYTHING from our surrounding neighbors. I had much higher expectations and was really disappointed.

The location of this hotel made it well worth it. The staff were really nice but the ceiling of our bathroom had mold and I'm allergic so that was a big detractor.

Clean, needs up dating. Would stay there again because of location

Great location for walking to sites, pubs, and activities. It's safe and convenient. Some of the rooms are due for an upgrade, as well as the Lobby and carpeting; then the place would be excellent.

The hotel was spectacular and took care of us on St Patrick's day weekend. This is the busiest weekend of the year and they responded to every request without and issues! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique pleasant experience in Dublin.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Parliament Hotel. We didn't mind that it was and older hotel because we felt it was part of the experience, staying someplace with history and character. Almost everything we wanted to see was in walking distance for us. It was also an easy distance to any other modes of transportation (bus, train, taxi). We didn't eat often in the hotel restaurant because there were other places we wanted to try. The pub was usually still open when we returned in the evening and the music was lively and entertaining on the weekends, a little slower during the week.

Staff is very friendly, room was in great condition. Only down side is no on site parking.

The location and restaurant in the hotel is great, but the room we stayed in had an uneven floor, with some really old and dirty carpet. The bathroom was outdated and the corners we full of dirt. Nothing looked "shiny" in the place. Just run down.

It was a great location and the staff was wonderful!! For the price we paid I would say we could have gotten a nicer hotel elsewhere but I would stay there again.

The people at the front desk where very helpful and friendly. The food and entertainment was very good. Next trip to Dublin I would stay here.

We stayed at the Arlington while visiting Dublin. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Central to a lot of attractions. Would stay again

I chose to book the Arlington because of it's location and frankly, it's cute. I can't speak to the bar or food, as we didn't eat or drink in the hotel bar, but when we got back to the room after going out for dinner, the bar was quiet and did not disturb our sleep. A car alarm on the street did, but obviously that's not something the hotel can control. The room was quite warm, so we slept with the window open, but other than that it was quite comfortable. It is close the The Temple Bar, where we had dinner and drinks. It's also an easy walk to Trinity College, where we spent our morning before checking out and heading to the airport to catch our flight. The bus stop to get back to airport was an easy walk as well, and then about a 30 minute ride to the airport. We left Dublin wishing we had more time to spend there.

You can't beat the location! Walking distance to most of the sites, restaurants, bars, and bus stops. No frils hotel, but it did the trick. We felt safe and comfortable during our stay.

You get what you pay for here. No extra amenities, a wonky bed, and noisy due to broken windows. However, they had a great staff that actually welcomed you, a delicious hotel restaurant, and close proximity to eateries and the local sights.

bus from airport leaves u 1/2 block away from hotel. great location at a great price!

It was all around fine and the staff was great. It was hard to find and there was no parking but it was centrally located for what we needed.

The location is excellent. Within walking distance to many sites, I felt very safe as a single female traveller. The staff was friendly enough and the room was ok but nothing spectacular about the place (other than location). It was very hot at night and there was no air conditioning, so I had to open the window, which was quite loud at night and could smell cigarette smoke. That wasn't the worst thing in the world though.

I was very pleased. Like many places in Europe they do not have air conditioning, and it was rather hot humid humid. We kept the windows open all night, at least they did open. The best thing about Dublin is that there are plenty of taxi cabs at all hours of the day and night, it was really easy to get ourselves and our luggage transported. Chatting with Dublin cab drivers is great fun !!

Great location close to the Temple Bar area. Hotel was a great value for what we paid. Wifi was great and needed when traveling with limited American phones.

This hotel has a great location but beds are not very comfortable. Restaurant is nice and has good food. Close to all major tourist sites.
