I stayed for 2 nights for business and found the hotel to be clean and quiet. Both nights I had a great nights sleep in a large bed, extra pillows a plenty. The decor is a little dated and the carpets & furniture need attention, but this did not impact upon my stay.
Booked with ebookers cost 69e not 99e advertised outside hotel per room :) . Free parking for guests . Quite hotel refined in its own way . Very relaxed staying here felt extremely comfortable . Rooms are big somewhat out dated but I didn't care because it was warm and cosy .great nights sleep. Staff are so courteous. Will stay again thank you
Tara tower is a great friendly hotel staff fantastic was staying for a hospital appointment and didn’t know for certain whether needed to stay for an extra night! Was told by staff not to worry any provisionally booked the room until certain what was happening! Keep up the personal touch Tara Towers.
This was a very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and wiling to help. I got a executive room in the 1st floor with a view of the cemetery, it was quiet at night, the cleaning staff was cleaning the room every day. Breakfast was awesome as well, you get the famous English breakfast, yogurts, fruits, marmalade, tost, milk, a variety of cereal, coffee, tea, as much as you like ! The restaurant as well was nice. I ate there twice at night, very good food and staff as well. I travelled to Dublin for a conference in UCD, it was a 30 minute walk from the hotel. Also the location of the hotel was ideal for this. You have right in front of the hotel a bus stop with buses going to the center of the city (No. 4, 7, 7A) and the bus to the airport (Aircoach No.702) which is really really convenient as well, i got to the hotel with the same bus from the airport. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!
Loved my stay in the Tara Towers. my room was a nice size and was spotless clean. The hotel itself is an old building but it has some lovely features. everything worked nice shower, TV with plenty of channels etc. Staff were helpful and friendly, a nice selection for the breakfast was available. and the food menu was good. By looking at some of the reviews in advance I was not expecting the standard i encountered. I will be visiting Dublin in February 2018 and I will definitely stay at the Tara Towers. Also they serve a great pint of Guiness!
We absolutely loved our stay at Tara towers! I will say it's not a huge modern hotel. But it was clean comfortable and we had a wonderful view on the third floor of Dublin Bay! The breakfast was great every morning a good variety of food with everything from biscuits to a full breakfast with eggs and sausage. All of the staff was wonderful especially Mark who helped us a lot with our itinerary and what we were going to do while we are in Dublin. The pub and restaurant for dinner was great and the female waitress , I don't remember her name, was absolutely wonderful and saw to our every need. This was our first time in Ireland and we will definitely be back. We will also definitely be staying again at Terra towers. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
I liked this hotel , but reading the past reviews I can see a lot of people points, I could of gone to town with pics of the bathroom, just because it needs a bit of attention, but that didnt bother us. third floor front of hotel, great views of the bay, yes bit of road noise, but again didnt bother us. Very clean, spacious room, cleaned every day, breakfast was so good with a good range of drinks, cereals , fried stuff etc. staff all friendly and helpful, I would stay again as i think its good value , and if its getting pulled down, then I'd be interested to stay in the new place.
We had a room on the 5th floor with sea view, big mistake. The room was small, paper thin walls, small double bed and matress was so old, that it felt we slept on the 4th fllor. Paint on the windowsill peeling away, seals gone on most of the windows, so it was like sleeping in the middle of the main road. 3 tiles were hanging by a thread in the shower/bath. The extractor fan in the bathroom sounded like the space shuttle taking off. The room and bathroom were clean, but it was difficult to overlook the stained carpets, chipped furniture and maintenace needed all round. My aunt and uncle slept in a room at the back of the hotel and they had a large room, similar issues but a lot quieter so they got some hours sleep. The breakfast was ok. Selection was good, although the coffee is not recommendable. Stick to tea. Lunch on the other hand is not recommendable. It tasted like cantine food. I would suggest a 15 minute walk to Booterstown and going to the Merrion Inn pub. Great food and great atmosphere Location is excellent, with bus stop outside the door where also the dublin airport blue bus stops. Best way to get into the city centre is using the dart (train). 15 min walk and 15 trip into the city. Staff are friendly, so I was delighted to hear that they will all be relocated to other hotels of the Maldron Hotel Group when the hotel is knocked down next Spring.
Spacious room, clean, well maintained and very comfortable. Room was at front of hotel but little road noise experienced. Fine view across Dublin Bay. All staff encountered very friendly and helpful. Reception staff good source of ideas of where to visit. Good location with AirCoach stop immediately outside the hotel, same for local buses and Dart Rail station 10 minutes walk away. Petrol station across street, with small convenience store and excellent pub just opposite the rail station. ideal place to stay to visit Dublin and to venture to other places around Dublin Bay by train. Hotel dates from 1970's , but some interesting feature incorporated in the restaurant and reception areas, which were apparently reclaimed from a Welsh Abbey / Church..
Rooms very clean bed comfortable good for bad back. Staff excellent Valerie and tatlina were very helpful with information on tours and getting to different museums. The breakfast was very tasty good for the price all you can eat buffet. The chicken wings and pepperione pizza from bar had a Smokey crust i liked it. If you want a little variety next door they have applegreen store which is like a stop and go or 7 eleven in the states. If you more adventurous about 1 mile down the road past applegreen their is old pounch bowl pub has good finger food or across the street you go to firehouse pizza personal pan for 5 dollars with 2 toppings i loved the pullpork with chorizo pizza.
