This isn't your typical Irish B&B. It's much larger than most, (if you are looking for quaint, this isn't it.) It has more rooms and the rooms themselves are very roomy. It also has it's own small bar/lounge with a large TV which is really nice at the end of the day. The people were very friendly and welcoming and had quite the morning operation for breakfast. They also had their own taxi driver (family member) who took us into Skerries (it was a bit pricey but split four ways was ok). Numbers on every door would help, as we were in a "family suite" where you had to go through one main door that had a number on it, but our room didn't. Another guest got confused and walked into my room, very apologetically, but a number on the room would have helped, maybe 2a. We had one mishap, our thermostat in the shower went out so we only had hot water (it was too late to fix it). They did offer us the use of their private shower which was very nice. This B&B was about 15 minutes from the airport with three gas stations along the way if you needed to fill your rental. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend if you need a place close to the airport.
We arrived late to this B&B and left early due to our flight the next morning. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful and complete accommodations and very accommodating hosts. We wished we would have known about the snacks served the night we arrived and we would have come earlier:) Sorry about the late arrival and thank you for the wonderful and warm welcome. It is a quiet and perfect location so close to the airport. Thank you, Leo, for making our visit grand! We will recommend this B&B to all!
Obviously a newer, specific-built, larger property that even has it's own bar, but the three friendly dogs outside make it feel more like a home. We chose this B&B for our last night in Ireland as it was very close to the airport. What Hillview lacks in charm (which many Irish B&Bs have) it makes up for in clean spacious rooms with easy parking and good amenities. We arrived a bit late around 6:30 and were met by Leo. He didn't initially have our reservation on his list but he did find it in the computer. He gave us a room midway down a corridor near the entrance. It was large and the queen-sized bed was very comfortable. Leo gave us a map with suggestions of places to eat in Skerries. It turned out to be a big night in Skerries, the "Soundwaves" festival with a parade and fireworks! It was a lovely magical evening as we found a great spot to eat at Stoop Your Head (recommended by a local mother and daughter we asked directions of). The fireworks were a special ending for our Irish vacation and Skerries is a truly beautiful setting. We had no problems finding Hillview using our GPS and the coordinates. We slept well with only a slight disturbance around 4am - probably an early departure. The next morning breakfast was delicious and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. We would recommend Hillview House.
If you don't need to be at the airport at zero dark thirty, this is a great place to stay the night before leaving Ireland from Dublin Airport. It's an easy thirty minute drive to the airport so it is convenient. And staying in the clean modern rooms in a place owned and operated by a local family will have you leaving the country with a feeling of good tidings. It is close to great places to eat in Skerries and Swords. We got a 10% discount at Brasco's in Skerries the night we stayed. The seafood there was great.
Spent a fabulous long weekend here once again with my children and grandchildren. Really well looked after by John and Katie, nothing was too much trouble for them. We had 3 double rooms, a single room and a family room. All immaculate, really clean and oh so comfortable. Fabulous breakfast, kids loved being served individually. Plenty of toast, coffee and tea, always being topped up without asking. The kids loved playing in the grounds, on the swings, on the go-karts and especially with the dogs! The big kids loved the go-karts too. Wacky races!!! What we especially appreciated was being allowed to relax in the bar after our days at the seaside or up in Dublin. The kids were allowed too. When we required a drink we just rang the ball and hey presto John appeared. We even had a carry out supper of Pizza in the bar one night, no problem. Wonderful service. Hillview is an absolute gem of a place, run by fabulous people. Would highly recommend. Only a short drive from both the airport and the beautiful wee town of Skerries which has some fabulous restaurants and pubs. We had a ball with thanks to John & Katie
We loved Hillview House! We booked the family suite and it was huge! We had plenty of room to spread out as we needed to pack for our flight the next morning. The room was very clean and well laid out! We needed to leave early in the morning for the airport and our hostess gaciously made us a little basket of breakfast foods. This is a great B&B and I wish we could have stayed longer!
We ended our trip to Ireland with a 2night stay at here. Probably should have stayed longer. Quiet, comfortable, warm, inviting and great hosts. They even have a little bar to wind down your day with a cold pint. Close to the train station to head into Dublin for site seeing.
If your expecting the quaint Irish B&B, this is not. It appears and is run much like a motel. The rooms are large and modern with all the amenities but lack the personal touch of the traditional Irish B&B. A good place to stay if you are heading back home as the airport is just a short drive away.
We arrived after an early flight from France and got a great welcome from Katie. Our room was lovely, clean, modern and en suite. The Guest house is in a beautiful Rural area and we had no trouble finding it, Google maps brought us to the Door. The Airport is nearby and we visited Skerries and Rush while we were there. We had stayed in Rush many times when the children were small so it was great to see it again. We walked North beach and had a beautiful lunch in the Strand public house. In the evening we went back to Rush and had an excellent dinner in the Harbour Bar. Katie's father Leo has a taxi license and dropped us and collected us for €20, so I was able to enjoy a few creamy pints. We arrived back at around 10.30 and had one drink in the cosy bar, an end to a fabulous day. Breakfast the next morning was a lovely Irish fry with lashings of tea and coffee. We will certainly return as we love the area, Drogheda and Dundalk are easy to get to on the motorway. Dublin is just a short train ride from Skerries. Donabate, Newbridge House and Bettystown are all worth visting.
Two night stay before flying out of Dublin. Quiet location but not far by car to near seaside resorts. Consists of B & B rooms and self-catering accommodation. Clean large room but a little dated and well used bed. Breakfast was usual for B & B nothing special.
