We booked this hotel for the solar eclipse. I booked online and saw that it was very expensive, but I figured this was a high quality hotel. It was merely average. For the price (they charged five times the normal rate), it was very disappointing. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable enough, the location was good. But the breakfast was limited and the bathroom sink drained at a snail's pace. Normally, I would not stay here again because the property was only fair and there were better properties in the area. But at the prices they charged, I am taking the extra step of writing an unhappy review to express my outrage at how they ripped off their guests just because there was a higher demand than usual for their rooms.
It was a great value. Everything was pretty dated, but very clean and very safe.

when going into the hallway to our room there was stuff splashed on the wall, carpet dirty and stained. in our room the same carpet was stained and soaked near the ac unit. our bedding cover was dirty and stained. the screen on the window had holes, the lamp shade was messed up, the back of the tv was hanging off & ironing board cover was yellowed and ripped. the towels provided didn't look clean & I felt very uneasy about using them!! the outside looked ok but the inside was another story. they also said free breakfast but it was more like eating from a vending machine. I have pictures but cannot upload them right now. I booked through orbitz and I will be calling them also.

After my first day of driving for 12 hours on my road trip it was a welcomed site. [...] Bed comfy, shower felt great, room had an odor but nothing offensive, just musky. Air conditioning worked great. Woke up and breakfast was very easily accessible and was surprised at the diversity for a continental breakfast, from cereal to bagels to English Muffins. Toaster and cream cheese provided. Orange juice and milk. Very good. Thank you for a very relaxing and restful stay.
My husband was moving his 74 yr old father to Texas. The travel became too much for the elderly man and my husband needed to stop.I Used internet to set up room reservation at the last minute; it was 10:30pm when he called and I was able to get his reservation made and confirmed when he pulled into the hotel at 11:00pm. The staff was great..my husband (untrusting of everone) was not comfortable leaving the truck and u-haul in a back lot, fearful of thieves, he was going to sleep in the Truck! The manager allowed him to park in an area that had great lighting and was visual to staff. My husband was very pleased and was able to sleep comfortably. The price was great..my (untrusting) husband was sceptical of the on line price quote; but was quite pleased that the cost was less than the original quote because his father was able to get a "Senior Rate". We will recommend this hotel to everyone, and stay at the hotel chain for all future travels. Thank you so much for helping out my family.
Stained carpet and bad location.
Went to Carbondale for a graduation. This was the closest nice motel available, and the price was right. We arrived at 11 AM (we knew we were early)and took care of the reservation. The room was not ready, but that was no problem. The only thing that bothered us was, the mini fridge was not plugged in and ready when we arrived later that evening after the ceremony. We had a cooler of refrigerator items so it took a while for the fridge to get cold. Next time I will try and remember and ask for that.
OK place to stay for the price. Relatively clean, no noise, breakfast is minimal.
We stayed here on our road-trip to take our son to Southern Illinois University. It was about the closest we could get to Carbondale. The regular rate was pricy for a small town motel, I would never have stayed there without the online rate.
