Room is functional and clean, with a kitchenette and a large bathroom. However, the ventilation and the fridge were so noisy that is was difficult to fall alseep. Nice and simple bedding, except for the pillows, the worst I have had in a long time. Expensive and boring breakfast not included in the price of the room. Wi-Fi Internet connection was difficult to establish and non-secure.
This hotel is located on the outskirts of Besancon but is near the tram line which will take you to the centre. We had a large studio room with the following comments: Quiet location Good shutters which prevented light coming in but also caused the room to overheat at night due to lack of airflow. Comfortable bed Inadequate pillows - needed extra available Kitchenette usable - but no detergent to was dishes Hopeless Shower Good fast internet We did not have breakfast. We paid A$130 for two nights so good price. 1835
A little bit expensive for only one night. The breakfast was very expensive and do not have a lot of things to choose. Poor kitchen and poor cookware (you need to bring your own soap and kitchen rap) ;)
We were in the city for two nights and needed a good price option with parking a breakfast as a possibility. Arriving after 18.00 you need to enter via codes on the door and this worked fine. We were in contact with the hotel during the afternoon of our arrival and was explained the process. The room has a feel of being small though it is not. There is a small kitchen in case you are into cooking or warming water for coffee/tea. Breakfast and parking is not included and are charged on top of the room. The breakfast is very basic and for us it was not worth the price. Parking worked perfect. The hotel is in walking distance from the city center and we were happy for the location. A nice walk along the river was enjoyed. We even made the walk to the citadel easily from the hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful if needed. All in all it is cheap price per night you just have to remember adding breakfast and parking to the price.
Very comfy and clean rooms. There is a fully supplied kitchenette and plenty of space to move around in. The only downfall was the tiny shower, but in the scheme of things, hardly a problem. Nice and cheap for 3 people and close to the city centre.
I have chosen to stay at this place as it was close to the motorway, had free parking and was offering apartment style lodging. We were on our way from Prague Czech Republic to Narbonne, France for summer beach holidays and due to the length of the drive (1500km), we have decided to stay overnight at this place for rest. The Residence is out of Besancon city center. There is a tram line close to the hotel, which can be used for the transport to town. Close to the hotel, there is large shopping mall with many shops. We have arrived late night, please keep in mind that some days, the check in closes at 10 pm. We have made it before 10 pm and were give two apartments. It was very hot weather that week so I was expecting some A/C, however the temperature in the rooms was very warm. We did not take the breakfast offer so cannot rate this one. The apartment was well equipped, it was clean and simple. The bed was not to my liking as I don't like soft mattress. This place is OK to stay for 1-2 nights, but I cant imagine to stay any longer. Overall positive feeling.
Hopeless post code and no instructions for locating which makes it a nightmare as it is a long way out of the city on an industrial estate near a new hospital complex. Handy using tram to get to the city just lack of information and ill equipped over worked staff who were little use. There is a small restaurant by the tramway round the corner, thousands of steps or 30 seconds by car. Strange set up like mini apartments, cheap tatty build but very clean inside, not particularly comfortable like Ibis or similar and don't expect anything more than minimal standard rubbish French breakfast. OK as a budget option. Free wifi mediocre.
OK... what a mistake.... This 'hotel' is located in the least charming place I've even been to.... The middle of nowhere... No place to visit unless you have to be in the area for business or something.... Beware: there is NO restaurant in this place. If you want breakfast, you have to pre-order the day before. So if you arrive late at night, you will be in for a hungry surprise the next day...
We used Besancon as a stop-off point on our way home from the South of France - we had just completed a long day's travel, and we had no intention of heading into the centre of town. Because of this, we went for one of the rooms with a kitchenette, and it suited our needs perfectly! The little kitchen area had a hob, pans, sink, coffee machine, fridge (and small freezer!), crockery and cutlery. Essentially, everything required to sort yourself out for dinner and breakfast! Of course, it requires a little planning ahead in terms of buying food, but we knew to buy stuff in, so we had one of those tasty French jars of cassoulet. The room itself was clean and modern, and the bathroom was a good size, too. The only thing it lacked, really, was a proper seating area. We had to have our tea sat at the writing desk, but at least there were two chairs. Whilst the hotel is new, and situated, essentially, on a business park, it is well signposted and easy to find, and seems to be very close to a tram stop if (unlike us) you did want to head into the centre of town. The hotel wasn't fancy, but it was excellent value for money. Well recommended.
We stayed at Zénitude Hôtel & Résidence Les Hauts Du Chazal on our way from Germany to Tours for one night on August 6, 2014. The hotel has all the basics for a short stay. Rooms are clean and well looked after. The bathrooms are also new. Although the hotel is not a fancy one you get more than what you pay for and for a nice change the staff are charming and speak English. Also the breakfast is quite satisfactory. Free and secure parking just in front of the hotel is also a plus. The location is out of town and can be cumbersome if you want an easy access to Besancon City. The facilities of the hotel are basic and you should not expect much. The wi-fi is also so slow, almost non-existent. Also for late arrivals do get in touch with the hotel and get the access code for the door as there is no 24h front desk service. However the overall stay was comfortable. We can recommend it for short stays for its price, cleanness and helpful staff.
