The hotel seems to be a business people's hotel. There were a lot of them there when we were there. Hoellet and the room all right. But in the evening it was not possible to shower because there was only ice cold water.The hotel has a good restaurant we ate the buffet it was good. But they had a good selection on the menu. The staff were friendly and could quite speak english.
Basic hotel which I would describe as 1*at best, dingy, dark, terrible Internet service,not the cleanest& receptionist couldn't operate switchboard well enough to get me an outside line .. Yes there is a pool, but location on an industrial estate with terrible decor and insulation.. Nah. Moved to the campanile a few hundred metres away.. I'll review that also.
We are an English Conversation Luncheon Club . We started using the Kyriad hotel as a trial hotel for our future meetings in July 2015 and have met there every second Wednesday of each month since and our members constantly praise the personal attention by all the staff. They are very professional . The menu offered is three courses with the main course being a choice of 7 different dishes including red/white/rose wine and coffee @ 20 € pp. Fantastic !!! Whilst the staff are obviously individuals , they come across as a lovely family waiting to welcome you into their home.
When we visit our holiday home in the Limousin we usually fly to Limoges but we needed to make a trip to pay some bills so it was very last minute. We could not get flights to Limoges so we chose to fly to Bergerac which is a two hour drive which is why we decided to stay over at the kyriad. I was impressed with the hotel and staff and the only reason I have not given it 5 is because I thought the breakfast was very expensive for what you got. I would visit again though.
we booked this hotel as website and manager said it was accessible. The access to the hotel, dining room and bed room were good. However the entrance to the bath room was very tight. There was no wet room and the shower tray was not accessible with the wheel chair and there was no seat in the shower! However for 1 night the hotel was fine. The meal in the evening was excellent. Scallops in puff pastry followed be Guinea Fowl in a cream sauce was excellent, for 1 night to collect someone from the airport we would use this hotel again.
Another great stay - hard to reconcile some earlier reviews with our experience. The room was clean, warm and comfortable and the food first class and good value. I did see one beetle but it was NOT a cockroach. Excellent breakfast - good choice of lovely food although hate the hot drinks machine! Minor point - do clear the patio slabs of weeds - it gives a bad first impression. Overall excellent value and hope to stay here again.
Room ok for price, a little grubby and tired furnishings but just about acceptable for one evening to catch a flight. Did not sleep well at all however due to very loud disco music which went on throughout the night until early morning. The was accompanied by the sound of dogs barking intermittently again throughout the night. Will not return.
This hotel is what you can expect from a cheap hotel outside of town. The downside is that it's a little dirty: in one night we've spotted a cockroach in our room and one in the breakfast room (among the clean coffee cups).
We stayed here on 2 nights namely 2nd May and 8th May. On the 2nd May, we received a warm welcome and were given room 37. The hotel was spotlessly clean, likewise the room although it could be said the decor is a little tired. There was tea, coffee, biscuits, bottle of water, shampoo etc which was great. The bed & pillows were really comfy, bath & shower were great. We ventured outside but discovered that there did not appear to be any other places to eat other than the Kyriad restaurant. We went to the nearby ten pin bowling alley for a drink and then afterwards had the cold seafood buffet at the hotel. The food was okay so we possibly made the wrong choice. We enjoyed quite a good night's sleep although to start with there was some outside noise - boom boom music (modern). Breakfast was great cold buffet all you could eat, set us up on our way for trip to the Dordogne. Anyway we decided to rebook for the following Friday, again we received a warm welcome, but were given room 4, which is on the left as you approach the entrance. It was very stuffy so we had to open the door which leads onto the entrance as there is not a window in the room. Having had a bit of a long drive we decided to have a short nap - luckily fully clothed and just lying on the bed. Imagine our horror when a strange man tried to enter the open door; my husband really did shout and the man was more than apologetic, however that was it, we decided to abandon the room. Even with our broken French there was no problem being relocated upstairs, this time we stayed in room 42, which was much cooler. After a brush up we again went over to the Bowling Alley (well they serve Stella), and then again dined in the restaurant. This time we went off the menu and both had chicken which was absolutely excellent followed by cheese and biscuits. I was shattered and fell asleep soon enough, however my husband who was nearest the window only slept intermittently (normally our roles are reversed) as the music - boom boom noise continued until 0700 the next morning. It would appear that the noise came from the disco which is nearby. I was disappointed in the morning too as I could not adjust the shower to just bath so got soaked and had to wash my hair again! Breakfast and check out were absolutely fine. Would we stay there again? probably not just in case we didn't manage to get an upstairs room or take the risk of a noisey night; I also noticed that our room rate was a lot higher the second night (first night we booked through Travel Republic 44.63 euros), as opposed to 58 euros booking on site. Overall though the staff were great, very friendly; nothing was too much of a problem, so a mixture of good and bad.
I slept in this hotel five months ago, in 2014, and was told to be clement because of the fresh newly arrived management staff which was trying to improve everything. It´ll be great in a couple of months, they said... So I didn´t complain about the dirtiness and dilapidation of a lot of things (bathrooms, bedrooms, etc...). But now, in February 2015, I´m back and still wondering how any kind of administration is able to rank this hotel 3 stars ??? The rooms are not better, I was given as a single a triple bed room, with no place to move at all, the breakfast is a catastrophe and a pure example of what not to do in an hotel: no choice at all, a bit of bread and a few mini viennoiseries, boiled eggs and not so fresh pork products, I tried it once, and those nothing for 10 euros, outrageous ! The restaurant is to match, less than average. I tried it twice, one time too much ! It deserves 1 star, and a black kind of.
