I was on business trip in Doha and I stayed 1 night in the this hotel. The crowd here was a mix of pleasure and business and the hotel is very popular in Doha. My room included the access to the Lounge, where you could enjoy free drinks during the happy hours. To be honest the price for the lounge is not really worth it. The staff are excellent, friendly and make you feel at ease instantly. The room was nice and spacious, I stayed in one of the room at the 13th floor and I didn't have any problem with sounds or noises. Breakfast was at the same level with a good choice and good quality of food. Definitely recommended.

I haven't stayed in the hotel however was frequently using its facilities: - Bliss Spa: great services and facilities. Love the hairdresser! - Spice Market: great food, great service. We had a tasting menu and there was really good sushi, beef and fish. Loved it, even though it's quite expensive. - Wahm Lounge: great place for an after work drink. Nice atmosphere to meet friends and good happy hour offers.

Staying at the W is like staying in a club. I love a vibe but sometimes you just need somewhere quiet to meet or talk or just think. It was just so loud! They even have DJs in the restaurant. Having said that, the room was fab, the staff polite, the styling really cool. More a holiday hotel than a business one.

I had really high expectations of this hotel, given that it's the number 1 rated hotel in Doha. For the price you pay to stay here, you'd expect the basics to be fulfilled, but unfortunately this wasn't the case at all. Don't get me wrong, the hotel itself is really nice, the location is excellent and the food in the restaurants were exceptionally good quality, however that's all the positive things I could say about the hotel. On the first night, the noise from the music in the pool area was extremely loud, this went on until 2am when it was switched off. If you're going to stay here, I'd advise you to request a room where you're not disturbed by the loud music, especially if you've been travelling from a different destination. Secondly, the shower didn't work, for some reason the water didn't come out. When I rang to report it, I found the advisor very patronising, she asked if I had switched it on, I advised her that I'd used the shower on 3 different occasions already. I didn't receive any feedback as to why it wasn't working. I also reported this to a member of staff at reception and her attitude was appaling, she really didn't care, she seemed to engrossed with what was happening on her phone. Thirdly, I didn't get a turn down service with my stay, something which I wasn't aware of. Given the amount you pay to stay at this hotel, you'd expect that at the very least. I purchased a couple of items from the room, upon checkout I asked if I could have 2 different ones as the boxes for the ones in the room were damaged, to which the person who checked me out said it wouldn't be a problem. When I got to the airport, I opened the bag and the packaging was the same as the one in the room - I explained that they were gifts, this was really disappointing. Lastly, I was advised that I'd be given some SPG points credited to my account and it would take about a week, it's been nearly a month since I departed and the points still haven't been credited. The other plus point was Orhan, he was extremely friendly and professional at checkout. Would I stay here again? Definitely not, given the price that you pay and the reputation 'W' Hotels have around the world, this place clearly failed to live up to being the number 1 hotel in Doha.

The W is located in the west bay district of Doha. Those of you deciding to stay in Old Doha (Doubletree etc) or West bay, I would strongly recommend here. Cabs between the two districts are cheap and quick. One artery road serves the two areas or you could just do the 5km walk down the corniche. It takes you straight to the Souk Wakif and Museum of Islamic Arts. We stayed during the weekend and the hotel was very busy on check in. The entrance to the hotel is quite size restricted, and the security point before you enter doesn't help things. The staff are excellent, friendly and make you feel at ease instantly. We were checked in and requested a room as far from the nightclub as possible. They obliged with a lovely room on the 12th floor. Be warned, the nightclub in the W is very popular for some reason and very loud. Try and get a room as far away as possible for a good nights sleep. Rooms are pleasant enough. They have gone for a modern, almost boutique decor. The furniture in our room had seen better times and could've done with some updating. The bed was comfortable and bedding good quality. The bathroom is the star of the show, with a gigantic walk in shower for two, and a deep bathtub. There's a lot of construction going on in Doha so I doubt any view could have been that good, but our 12th floor view of a car park could have been worse ;) There are 3 highly rated restaurants on site, we made reservations at the spice market and were not disappointed. Delicious pan Asian food complimented by the best service we ave received in the Middle East. We missed breakfast on both days as we are lazy slobs who sleep too much. The City centre mall is a stones throw away, we walked it there in under 3 minutes. It has everything you would expect from a large Arabian mall. From there, it's another 3 minutes walk to the Sheraton Park and the infamous corniche. Taxis were always available from outside, and the Hotel has its own Limo service of need be.

We had a terrific stay at the W Doha and will recommend it to our friends who travel here. The best part was the concierge service provided by Anthony and Mayra, who recommended a local guide, Ajeth, and then set everything up for us. Ajeth was very knowledgeable, great fun and went out of his way to make sure that we got a good first impression of the wonders of Doha, especially the Museum of Islamic Art and the Souk market.

Great service, great value for money, great food in Spice market and La Spiga. And it's in a pretty convenient location. Just one of the very few good places in Doha. If you're staying there or pass by, you ought to try the Wahm Lounge where the music is fine and you can enjoy a relaxing chilled beer.

Very friendly staff. Check in extremely smooth and streamlined - they greet you at the door and walk you through the check in process- we had a guide introduce us to our room and explain all the amenities. Quality of room was excellent - this is clearly a new hotel. Atmosphere was vibrant.

Second visit to this hotel - first visit was a year ago. High standards have been maintained both in terms of both the physical (well equipped and well maintained rooms) and service (excellent staff who always are looking to help). As always with this hotel, the real quality shows through when there is a problem - it is taken care of quickly and efficiently. Breakfast buffet (with cook to order as well) is excellent. For the evening I would recommend the Market by Jean Georges. Excellent steaks and burgers.

Its hard to find somewhere in Doha on a Saturday night (school night) that has a buzz about it, but the Spice Market does not fail to impress. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Our waiter, Stefan was very good and helpful and we really enjoyed our meal and will return with all our future guests.
