We have just come back from our 4th stay in the Signature suite and are pleased to report that it was a lovely stay as usual. The welcome drink offered upon arrival by the manager after a long fairly arduous journey was greatly appreciated and was a nice start to our holiday. We found the cooked breakfast to be excellent and varied, however I did miss some of the other previous buffet offerings such as prepared fresh fruit salad rather than just fruit, some sweet pastries and some crusty bread to accompany the charcuterie and cheese selection to make it more European. The breakfast room was very hot even though the weather outside wasn't great, as many of the windows do not open and is not helped by the industrial toaster being on all the time, and unfortunately this did spoil our experience a little as we rushed to finish our food and did not want to linger. Although the two waitresses who served us were very nice and friendly, we missed the personal touch from the owner and being able to chat with them about our experiences from restaurants visited the night before or day trips etc, however I appreciate not everyone wants to chat. We were told that the shower system in this suite is going to be upgraded over the winter so the poor water pressure should be greatly improved in due course, hopefully in time for our next stay. The outside terrace in this spacious suite is one of its best points and we were able to sit outside on a couple of evenings. I also particularly like how light and airy it feels with excellent lighting in the room and dressing table area too. We took a taxi down into town very night and found them to be very reasonable between £4 and £5 to the harbour, no need to pre-book as they arrive within 5 minutes. For the fish lovers this is an excellent opportunity to sample some of the finest fresh fish from Brixham in the fish restaurants in the harbour. We had 3 fantastic meals in No. 7 Fish Bistro, Man Friday's and the Elephant.

As happened to us last year in Mevagissey we found out that the ownership of this hotel had changed since we booked. To put minds at rest Phil and Vicky and the Team have continued with the welcome coffee/ tea and cake, which we enjoyed. Room we booked was the Junior Suite which had the Spa Bath in it which we had used on 1 other visit, therefore disappointed to report that when this was switched on it discharged black bits in to the bath, thus making it impossible to use for the week, did report the issue and the suite is now advertised as bath only, hosts could have warned us before or on arrival. The breakfast whilst not as comprehensive as previously was still more than sufficient for a good start to the day. Some suggestions on little touches that make a difference, clear plates and dishes when finished with, to provide space on table, ask if more tea and coffee is wanted, sauce for cooked food. Some days this happened others it didn't, these tiny things make the difference especially as already judging on room experience.

staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Very clean hotel, our room had a comfortable bed and pillows. A lot of choice for breakfast, from cereal to full English and more. The hotel also has a small well stocked bar. Within walking distance from the town, beach, theatre and transport, bus, train etc. we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, 5 star all the way,😀😀😀

We recently enjoyed a wonderful week at The Meadfoot Bay Hotel (our second visit) and we cannot wait for our third. A gorgeous hotel in a wonderful location with friendly, helpful staff. I would (and have) recommended this hotel without a second thought. Our room (one of the suites) was immaculate as were the communal areas and the breakfasts are sublime my wife likes to try as many different items as possible during our stay and was never disappointed. Thank you once again for a memorable stay.

Mt wife and I were touring southern England, are well travelled in this country and are both in our 50s. The Meadfoot Bay is located on a hill just outside of Torquay in a quite area. The period building is quite lovely and very well kept with on site parking. Nice decked areas to sit if the sun is shining. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner who offered us a drink and chatted with us about the area and house. We were shown to our room of which I hope to upload some photos. The room was modern, large and clean as in the site photos. The bathroom was enormous with double sink and large walk in shower. Breakfast was very well presented and cooked, as always being a Yorkshire man, a little on the light side but plenty of other items to eat. The staff appear to be a family and were very helpful with restaurants, directions etc. even to the point of offering to book for us. I very pleasant and enjoyable stay. I would recommend to anyone.

This is a great place to stay, the owners are born to do this, the place is immaculate the breakfast is faultless and the scrambled egg was proberley the best ive had for many Years, they have a bar on site with drinks to suit most people. We stayed in a deluxe room and loved it, loads of space and a great walk in open shower. The pictures of this place dont do it justice. Faultless from start to finish. They are also great with local recommendations. They have an outside seating area for smokers and to enjoy drinks. Worth every penny.l

Just home after a 5 night stay at the meadfoot bay ,what a lovely small hotel spotless and very attentive staff. We were greeted with a warm welcome and showed into one of the 2 reception rooms where we had a lovely cup of tea and cake,we were then taken up to our room. We had a deluxe rooms with its own decked area. Our room was at the front of the building very quiet with a good view over the trees. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice it certainly set you up for the day. There is a small bar at the hotel which we used and found the prices to be very reasonable. We would without any doubt recommend this hotel, hope to return again soon .

My wife and I spent 4 nights in The Meadfoot Bay Hotel and had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful and Vicky the owner very approachable. It is a small Hotel serving Bed and Breakfast only. But what a breakfast!! Choices from the full English, Scrambled egg with smoked salmon, Dippy eggs and soldiers, Eggs Benedict and a Sausage and bacon sandwich. All this with the usual cereals, rolls, croissants, cold meats, fruit and juices. My only criticism was the very noisy refrigerator in our room which we had to turn off in order to get to sleep. Other than that we had high praise for the accommodation.

A really lovely stay at the meadfoot Bay Hotel. From the moment we arrived we were incredibly well looked after. Vicky, Luke and Diana (spelt like the princess but not pronounced that way!) greeted us with a drink and welcoming chat. The room was very clean and comfortable and bathroom very spacious. Although we didn't have a terrace, on a hot weekend, the ground floor room was perfect as it was lovely and cool. Breakfast was amazing... Couldn't have asked for more.. The hardest thing was deciding whether to have the eggs Royale or pancakes on our 3rd morning. Phil made us some very good cocktails (well mocktails for me). Overall we really appreciated the personal touches and approach. We wish you all every success with the business.

Stayed here for 3 days, we were greeted by the owner Vicki and shown around then to our room (Premium double room) the room was spacious and as a nice touch a bottle of sherry with two glasses on a table (topped up daily if used) also a fridge with fresh bottled water and a jug of fresh milk, the breakfasts were excellent and the staff extremely friendly taking time out to chat to all the guests, the bar stocked a range of local brews and spirits. Their was a bus stop just along from the hotel to get into town but stopped around 17.30 hrs but their are plenty of taxis which charge around £4.50. We used the bus to town every day of our stay and caught the ferry to Brixham only £3.00 return the first day then the bus to Paignton the next day all easily accessible from The Meadfoot Bay a lovely hotel.
