Good hotel in a good location. However no private car-park and local parking adds to the expense (particularly if parking overnight). Hotel itself was well presented with friendly and helpful staff. Can't comment on the facilities because we didn't used them - this hotel was used as a stop-over to catch an early morning ferry.
Jurys Hotel Plymouth is conveniently located for the Barbican area and offers clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. The self service buffet breakfast offers a comprehensive selection of quality food. Hotel staff are friendly, professional and efficient.
This city centre is well above the basic city hotel. It isn't a luxury hotel, but doesn't claim to be, and the prices are very reasonable. It has a good location with everything I wanted, including the shops, pubs, restaurants, harbour, and Barbican being within easy walking distance. The railway station is a bit further, about 15 minutes away, so if you have a heavy case you'll probably need a cab, Check-in was fast and efficient and the staff very friendly throughout. Rooms were clean and functional with a sufficient number of power sockets. The bed was good and the room was quiet. The one thing that gets me about Jury's Inn hotels is how the soap and shampoo are locked to the wall, as though every guest is immediately going to steal them. I wonder how much money it saves? I don't think it sends a good message and it definitely isn't user-friendly. Still, it's a minor point. The shower was easy to use and control. I have a thing about showers that freeze or boil you as you try to turn them on, but this one wasn't at all bad. And it didn't leak all over the floor like some do. The rooms aren't huge and there isn't a view. Wi-fi was free and worked fine throughout the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style and fine in a standard hotel way. I ate there for dinner once and it was perfectly acceptable. The wine list is good too. I enjoyed the bar where prices were very reasonable and the selection good. The number of elevators was fine. At this price I would definitely stay there again if I had to stay in Plymouth city centre.
I stopped here to attend a conference, the hotel is very close to the centre for shopping and to the barbican area for the night life. The room was very clean and had maid service each day. Because the hotel was very busy there was a delay checking in. Breakfast and evening meals were self service and of a very high standard the staff were very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a stay in Plymouth
Following a lovely stay this weekend, I just wanted to take the time to say what a fantastic, friendly and pleasant hotel experience we had. From the effervescent Danielle who greeted us warmly at reception and provided us with a whole plethora of suitable info, to Nic the night manager, who took the time time to see how our stay was going (genuinely interested in our feedback). We were in town for the Armed Forces day and we're suitably advised on all the events before leaving the hotel. The room was really clean, and had everything we needed (fridge, hairdryer, TV, tea/coffee facilities etc). The bar and restaurant areas were inviting and had a great array of food and drink options. The remaining staff were always on hand to help with a smile on their face. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, it's the best jury's inn we've ever been to - keep up the good work!
This hotel is a short walk to the Barbican which is full of great bars and restaurants. The rooms are clean and functional with free WiFi throughout the hotel. The friendly and helpful staff make this hotel a pleasure to stay in. I always use this hotel if I am on business in Plymouth.
A good value City centre hotel, bedrooms a step up on premier inn. Food acceptable and reasonable value. Staff helpful. Sole negative is that adjoining car park has small spaces and is expenses. Gusts should be informed that the parking can be paid for at check in.
Excellent stay- simple and easy- staff were very polite and helped throughout. We stayed at the underground parking (£11 for 24 hours) which is not bad as it was very close to the hotel and the city centre
The hotel is good overall once you can find it. No set down at front and No other place to unload suitcases. The car park,if you find it, no signs ,is past the hotel next to office supplies and underground.Arrive before 5pm and it's £11 until next day, after 5pm it's £8.Trying to get to the hotel is a task as again no signs.Room comfortable although noisy as it has the main road outside. Breakfast was very good,
I ended up paying £170 for a 2 night stay. I would expect better service. The fire alarms went off each morning at 6-7am. The check in was really slow, and had to pay extra for breakfast even though my bill was already massive. The staff were rude and offered no apology in the morning for the alarms, and the housekeepers were loud.
